My new shoes
I had to buy new shoes to go back to work in a few weeks. All of them were too big. I thought it was because they got stretched at the end of the last school year, in May, my feet and ankles had swollen so huge they looked like a blown up latex glove. (Medical condition I found out I had which lead me to MFP) Anyway, being…

For the first time in at least 10years...
I'm NOT obese. My "offical weigh-in" days are on Tuesday but I weigh everday to keep myself accountable. This morning I got on the scale and surprise! 1 pound under the obesity cut-off for my height. 30 more lbs and I will be in my healthy range!

A Healthier Me
I haven't really seen the effects of my weight loss in the way of clothing size or even on the scale to much, which was really making me irritated. You know I have been walking/running my butt off and no size change but this week I was so tired couldn't even hold my head up and actually got some good news. I have been…

This site really works...what's worked for you?
I want to congratulate everyone on the weight they have lost thus far. This site as really helped me realize what I'm putting in my mouth, and what I should NOT put in my mouth. I was completely blind to how fattening some of the foods were that I would eat regularly. I was eating I KNOW 3000 calories a day without…

My jeans. They fit!
On Fridays, we can wear jeans to work. This morning, I put on a pair that I couldn't even close last week. And I have the tiniest bit of room to spare. I don't need to or want to lose much weight. I'm 5'4" and around 128, when I started. I feel and look my best at around 115-118 (I have an extremely small frame, my wrist…

What Happened On My Birthday
Hi all Yesterday was my birthday. What I have to celebrate is that since January, I'm down 38 lbs. Thanks to ToM it's not 40 lb. BUT I now weigh at 51 what I weighed at 21 and that's definitely something to celebrate. Mind you, I was not a skinny kid  I definitely didn't eat healthy by my new "normal" standards, but…

I know the scales can't always be trusted but
this a.m. I weighed, even after eating breakfast and I was down to a flat 133 lbs. I have gotten down to 127(lowest since I was in my late 30's)and so I look forward to seeing 120 something, LOL!! I seem to have a lot of success with eating over my calories one day and under the next. I do try to drink enough water but…

going out
Last night while getting ready for dinner, I realized that my skirts are too big. The one that did fit was too long (I ended up wearing the long one). The point is, this is the first time in a very long time that I felt, I looked good enough to wear a skirt that didn't go almost to my ankles. It's not much but it was…

Counting in double digits...
Ok, I've never posted before, but here goes. I know how much reading about other people's successes inspires me and I guess I can only hope to do a little of the same. As of yesterday - and 5 weeks after joining MFP and deciding that I'm going to do better for myself for the first time in my life - I've lost 11 pounds. 11!…

I finally reached a goal!
When I first started, I went by MFP's timeline of when I'd reach my goal weight...and of course that wasn't realistic. I set mini-goals. I wanted to reach 160 by my birthday. I almost did. I wanted to be 150 by about mid-July and 140 by end of August - or something like that. Well, once it was June and I was STILL what I…

Almost to goal weight!
Hello everyone. My name is Sybul and I am 57 years old. Two years ago on June 18 I had RNY gastric bypass surgery. I was up to 315 lbs at my highest weight before surgery and am 5' 2" tall. I was as big around as I am tall. Life was really sucky. It was to the point that my husband had to help me put my socks and shoes on…

Huh, well waddya know!
Tonight I ran my first true 2 miles, at least according to google maps. I have been getting closer, but I thought I was only going about 6 miles an hour (20 minutes to run 2 miles). Tonight I took my stop watch as well and I did it in 16.5 minutes! I did the first mile in about 7.75. My long term goal is to run 2 miles in…

I love my scale sooooo much....
I miss it. And I love Saturdays because then I can be reunited with it. Right now I feel like I'm living my life from weigh in to weigh in.... it's Thursday, and I get more anxious each day to hop on the scale and see how I've done this week. I want to shake that feeling of constantly needing to weigh in... and at least I…

45 pounds and still going
I've lost 45 pounds toward my goal of 100 lost in a years time. I started at 300 pounds, give or take a few. I barely missed my initial goal of 50 by July 10th. Now I'm back on track to get to 100 by the end of January. In addition to following MFP very closely I ride a bike at least 3 days a week. I've also started doing…

Is this enough?
My empoyer hired a group to come and do health assessments on us employees if we wanted. I had mine taken; we had our blood tested for cholesterol(159 total 62 ldl/82 hdl) and sugar(81 mg). then blood pressure(118/72) was taken, body fat (21%) waist measurments (29 in), and life style questions were asked, drinking,…

Success to hopefully keep you going! :)
Hey guys! I have been around here for awhile, though a bit quiet lately due to a lot going on in my life. Some know me and some don't. I have posted pics before but I wanted to post a fresh topic after receiving an email from someone requesting a before photo. I know that my story and success can help to keep others going.…

Feeling Proud of Yourselves.
So no inches lost last night, but in 6months odd, Iv shed 6-7" of my belly, Iv taken my exercise from 0 to average 60mins a day, I feel much happier and healthier and Iv started the 100 press ups and 200 sit ups and 200 squats routines in 6 weeks. Now I ask you, "who is the daddy?" thanks to MFP and the lovely people who…

Backpacked this weekend
This is my big true success story. This weekend I backpacked into the mountains to go camping with my boyfriend. I carried about 27 pounds on my back for approx 3 miles in and 3 miles out. Also hiked about 2 extra miles straight uphill just for fun. I don't think I would have ever been able to do this before I started…

I fit into the dress from my honeymoon!!!!
So my goal is to lose 30lbs total. That would mean I would way 10lbs less than I did when I got married. (goal weight 125) Well I have only lost about 2lbs since started working out a couple weeks before I joined MFP. I realized that I had lost several inches around the waist so I thought I would go through my wardrobe for…

I like how MFP sets your cal limit based on your goal loss..
but how accurate is that? For those of you that have had success, did you lose at the rate MFP said you would? For example, I want to lose 2 lbs per week so my daily cal limit is: 1320. If I stick real close to that, what is the likelyhood that I will actually lose 2 lbs per week?

No weight lost... But I lost inches!
I have been extremely discouraged these last few months. I feel like I work and work and work with no results. Then I signed up for MFP. I started counting my calories, watching what I ate and still worked out with not much to show for it. After reading some posts on the forum, I realized I had never once measure myself,…
