RUNNING!!!
Well my fellow MFPers, I've looked so forward to writing this post. Last year I lost 50lbs. This year I've been maintaining (between heavy training for running that left me having to chose between being fueled for workouts or still losing weight and also a bit of complacency). Last October I decided I'd give one last shot…

So sureal!
So, I've always been the "fat girl" even as a kid. I remember my great grandfather when I was 6 said to me "geez kid you gotten real chunky" I was really hurt but what do you do? Other kids would say horrible things but as I grew older it didn't bother me so much (or so I told myself). My friends would talk about…

Wow, I'm so excited!!!
A couple of friends offered for me to go with them shopping. I was a little sad when they said they were going to shop at Gap and Old Navy and other places because I didn't think I would fit in any of their clothes. Well, it turns out I do fit in their clothes and I am so happy. Mostly everything I got was on sale and fit…

I'm Gonna Make It!!!
I had a goal to be 199 by my 22nd birthday on October 12th. I stepped on the scale this morning and it read 200 even!!! Whohoo not only am I down 23 lbs but I will acutally hit my goal! I got 1 week to drop 1 lb and with how healthy I am eating and the amount of exercise I'm doing I know I'm gonna make it. I feel great and…

The rollercoaster ride...
I hate that weight loss has been such a rollercoaster ride for me, but each time I go up I learn something new and start coming down again. Since January 2008 I've managed to lose and regain and then relose 49 pounds. I think how I could be so much closer to my goal if I had just kept moving forward, but it's okay. I've…

half way
Well... I got on the scale today, about 7 months into this lifestyle change, and I am officially half way to my goal.... I gave myself 18 months to do it... and so I might just make it, since I know things slow down as the weight comes off.... anyway, I wish you all the luck, and wish myself continued luck

success stories is a wonderful forum thread
I used to "haunt" the Zone website and some other similar ones. I always went to the archives and found the latest bunch of success stories. I find these to be the most inspiring encouragement, especially those which explained how healthy dieting was leading to greater health for the person, whether they came at it from a…

Happy for myself!
So I just got back from a 2 week vacation in the Dominican Republic where I didn't count calories, or to be honest eat anything healthy. I went back to drinking pop because bottled water was harder to come by and had a couple of alcoholic drinks each day and somehow I didn't gain! Though I have only lost a total of 3lbs I…

must have been sized wrong
I went to my MIL's on Friday. She had an outfit that she purchased through the mail that she just didn't want so she asked if I wanted it. She actually had 2 different sized pants because they messed up on her first order. She had a L and a M. So I said "Well, I can tell by looking that the shirt will fit fine, but I have…

From Couch to Half-Marathon
So, yesterday I ran the Baltimore Half-Marathon, which was also my first. The weather wasn't the greatest...it was drizzling in some areas, and fairly breezy, but I was beyond excited to get out there. After all, I had 3 1/2 months of training under my belt for the big day...and all I wanted was to finish in under three…

back exercising
After a 10 day lay off battling "the head cold from Hell" I went down to the river path today and walked 40 minutes! Feels good to get back!

where did it go??
so, while losing 50lbs in the last year, I also lost any shame I may have had. :noway: I have no problem putting pics of myself up on my facebook/myspace pages where I used to only put pics I took of other people & would crop myself out. This is my most recent pic posted - granted my head is missing in this pic, lol, but a…

woot-woot!!
Yay!! I successfully turned away from the vending machine 2 times today, politely declined a cupcake from my manager, and walked away from cookies that are sitting in the lunchroom!!! I did have a VERY hard time doing this, but I resisted the temptation! I got myself a single serving of dark chocolate (55 cals and lots of…

worklng diet
I have been on several diets in my life. When your 6'11 you can eat what you want and never gain an ounce. But sooner or later, the bell will go off. Then its " I guess its that time." My wife has been on a diet just about all her life. My typing in each item that you put in your mouth, you really become sub- concious of…

Finally...success
Well from Sept. 9 to today, Oct. 8th I lost 8 lbs. I got on the scale fully expecting it to be higher or the same as it always is and I lost 8lbs. I am quite thrilled. Now if it does the same thing next month then I will be truly happy. Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Free Calorie Calculator

I'm now off my last med!
Got the results from last Friday's blood work from my doctor today. I'm happy to report my glucose and A1C levels are now back in the normal range. So he told me to stop taking my last medicine (metformin) and I am no longer (as he told me last November before making the lifestyle change) "on the slippery slope to Type II…

New Dress!!!!
About a month ago, I went shopping and found this really cute dress at my favorite store. I had already lost a few pounds but still felt like I should try the 12. It was huge (my first accomplishment since I've almost always been a solid 12). Sadly enough, they didn't have the 10 in the black and white pattern I loved but…

Look at my...........
