Turning 45 Sunday, Lost 100+ lbs last year & have maintained for more than a year!
September 15th, 2018 made 1 year of maintenance for me. I lost over 100 lbs from January 11th, 2017 to September 15, 2017. That is exactly 8 months and 4 days. Of course the very first question everyone asks is, How? Honestly, it is as simple as eating right and moving more. I got up off the couch, got into the gym and…

NSV: Huge race improvement
Last year, I ran a 3.7 mile race in ~36 min. It’s a hilly course and I felt like death at the end. Underprepared, definitely not in running shape. I think I placed something like 750/1100-ish. I just ran the same race...shaved 4 minutes and more than 500 places off! I got 14th in my age division and 216 overall. And I…

For the first time in 15 years ...
I weigh less than 80 kg (176 lbs)!!! I started 10 months ago at 210 lbs (that weigh in at the hospital really scared me) and had basically resigned myself to be overweight for the rest of my life. Then a friend told me about MFP, and my life has never been the same again. I now have my sights set on my ideal weight of 73…

NSV: That's me on the left and Mike on the right. We're the old warhorses of the campus gym. Been working out at the same time for going on six years. This week, the rec center has been holding a bench rep-off competition. In the competition, you bench 75 percent of your body weight as many times as you can. If you hit a…

Today marks the 1825 day in a row I’ve logged in. That’s 5 years, every day, every food (good and bad) every exercise (good and bad) and I do it today 73 pounds lighter than when I began 5 years ago! Was a 2 pack a day smoker and will be competing in my 7th half marathon next month. Who knows what tomorrow will bring??!

I am so excited that I finally made goal weight this morning!! It has taken a super long time but I am here nonetheless! Tired and exhausted and unhappy in the first picture - I knew it wouldn't be long before I topped out at a maximum weight! I had to make a change. So you know how people say the click happens or a switch…

Losing 10kg in 3 months
Hey ! I'm so glad Im posting here about it. I did start a diet 3 months ago, I was at 89.9 at the end of June and this week I finally cross the 80kg line. I have been struggling with motivation for exercise because going to the gym is time consuming and I couldn't see any rewards instantly. So I had to find an option that…

When your students don’t recognize you...
A huge NSV for me today...my students (whom I’ve taught for 4 years) came back to school this morning and they were walking right past me. I usually get lots of hugs so I was miffed! Later they came to my class and realized I was still me. I’ve changed so much during the last few months that my children thought I was one…

I Still Have Chronic Obesity (even a year into maintenance . . .)
Hello, MFP! So my one year anniversary for maintaining my 63 pound weight loss was back in August. I meant to post a "woohoo" post, but couldn't think of anything that I hadn't really said back when I originally hit maintenance. However, my husband is gone for work this month, and on Sunday night I went back to poor habits…

78 Pounds Down! One and a half year transformation
This was me at my heaviest weight 259 pounds. I started walking and eventually it became running. Eating better (more Whole Foods) and watching my sodium levels. Cutting out fast food was huge. I play sports now, just like I was doing when I was a teenager. I also go to a gym. The fitness regime has changed my life forever…

110 pounds down and 25 to go!!! Female, lots of pictures!
I started my weight loss journey in August 2014. I was nearly 300 pounds, a mother of three, and very depressed. I was addicted to food. I was becoming a hermit. My life revolved around what I should eat, shouldn't eat, wanted to eat, and couldn't eat. I had tried to lose weight many times with small losses and large…

Lipid Panel Transformation
In 2017, I went to the doctor's for my first physical exam in several years. Most everything came back healthy-ish, and normal-ish except my lipid panel being a little high but not quite a concern yet. I told myself I would make some changes to my eating habits and maybe exercise more (read: exercise any at all) and the…
