Body recomposition?
Hi guys! I don't post here often because I suck at exercising 😂 but I could do with some advice! I'm wondering if body recomposition is possible with diet and exercise? I have always carried all my weight on my lower half (hips, bum, stomach) and my torso is quite skinny. So, in an ideal world, once I'm at my goal weight…

Feeling deadlifts in the legs
I recently took on a new objective of learning how to do deadlifts, and my beginner's session went well. I studied up on the correct form, I went to the gym and did 4 sets of 6-8 reps, to start off using about 40-50 lb (I'm a woman, I can probably lift 100 lb max). I managed to avoid using my lower back, yay for that. But…

Stronglift 5x5
Hi All, I am doing the 5x5 workout, with a bit of an adjustment. Due to time constraints, I can't do the typical Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Most of the time I need to do 2 days in a row to fit all the workouts in a week. The problem is I struggle with squats on the second day if I need to do them 2 days in a row. Any…

Post A-Vascular Necrosis Physical Fitness Question
Hello, Earlier this year, I was diagnosed with A-Vascular Necrosis. As a 36year old male that loves things like water skiing, motorcycle off-road racing, and public displays of nudity, I was concerned. For those that do not know, A-Vascular Necrosis is an incurable disease that causes bone death, bone collapse, and…

Fasted workout? Eat first?
My day is like this: Wake up. Drink coffee, look at my food diary if need be. Approx 30 calories. Go downstairs. Work out. Either I only do cardio/treadmill or I do a full body workout every other day. 1 rest day per week. On weight lifting days: 8 mins treadmill to warm up Full body workout routine Approx 1/2 hour…

Any ideas?
What would you say is the best workout split to get leaner, lower the fat percentage? I train at home and have adjustable dumbbells.

Winter: how not to freeze when working out?
Just wonder if someone else has the same problem: I ran for 90 minutes at just below freezing today. The whole 90 minutes my arms and legs were cold, and once I got home I slipped into bed with my electric mattress cover on full power. I was so cold I didn't even notice this. Took a shower on highest temperature and was…

My trainer keeps increasing the dumbbell weight every week
I have been working out with a personal trainer for the past two weeks and every week he wants to up the weight of the dumbbells i use to do upper body work and squats and lunges. I went from lifting 8lbs to 20lbs in two weeks. Is this normal? I always thought you should increase your weights slowly. Honestly if i were…

Very minor surgery: nope, no exercise for now.
Ugh.. so I had minor surgery yesterday afternoon: a huge lipoma was removed from my outer ankle. Cut turned out to be bigger than planned because it would not pop out in one go but fell apart. Pain is not really present but I still am not allowed to exercise for at least a week, possibly longer. Well.. wearing shoes is…

Why don't most gyms have Arc Trainers or a wider variety of cardio equipment?
I am thankful that Planet Fitness has Arc Trainers. Most PF gyms have them. I prefer them over ellipticals. I remember when 24 Hour Fitness had Arc Trainers. In my area, they had 3 Total Body Arc Trainers in one of my Super Sport gyms. And then 2 of them were always out of service. That only lead to 1 left and often times…

Non-floor exercises
It would be nice to have strengthening, stretching and toning exercise videos that don't require getting on your knees or the floor available in our program app. Any thoughts?

Hill climber without using arms?
I really want to buy a hill climber machine for my home gym, but I have a long-standing shoulder issue and wouldn’t be able to use handlebars that require arm movement. Is there a machine that would allow me to keep my arms stationary? All the ones I’ve looked at seem to involve an upper body workout as well. In an ideal…

What is the fastest way to improve fitness?
I had a knee injury (torn meniscus) this year that, while waiting for surgery and then during recovery, kept me on the couch for a good six months. Now, even though I get about 8-10K steps a day for my job, I feel winded still. Mind you, I’m 47 and overweight, but I’ve never felt like this and I want to feel like I can…

My stomach is shrinking but it’s also hanging
I’ve lost quite a bit of weight but my stomach now droops down. The skin from my upper belly is folding at the bellybutton (which has actually caused a minor infection inside my belly button) and my lower belly is drooping causing it to uncontrollably rub on my more sensitive area. I just need some advice as to how to get…

Be aware of your alcohol intake
For most people the weekend or nights out is where most of the damage is done.. its usually not tracked and then over consumption of alcohol likely leads to poor food choices afterwards. I can't explain all the tips here but in short I would advise that you know what's in your cocktails. This will allow you to better…

Starting weight training has cost me my cardio gains?
I work out five days a week. Before i used to run four days and briskly walk on the fifth. I have now hired a personal trainer to help me put on muscle. He trains me three days a week and i run on my own 2 days a week. I have noticed that i am out of breath much sooner now on the treadmill and cannot run as far as before.…

Frustrated about lack of progress in exercise
For the past 3 years I have been diligently doing calisthenics for 50 mins a day, 5-6 days a week. I have seen some improvement in my muscle tone, but not much. I am feeling frustrated. Nowadays, when I begin exercising my mind says to me, "forget it. You are never going to improve. Don't even try." Its really…
