Has anyone tried calorie cycling?
I'm trying to break out of yet another plateau. Two weeks now with no weight loss. My clothes feel looser so I know I'm still on track exercise wise, but the scale is stuck. I searched & found an article about calorie cycling. This is the thing-I am SO into making my new choices work for me that I'm afraid to eat more than…

High Fructose Corn Syrup & Partially Hydrogenated Oils
Hi all! :-) I've personally cut out every packaged food from my diet that contains any HFCS and partially hydrogenated oils/trans fat on its ingredients list. It's proven to be pretty shocking as I look at how many foods contain these products... ex: Yoplait yogurts. I didn't even realize that they contain HFCS until I…

Is there good and bad sugars, or should I be laying off these fruit items too.…

Sugar or Sodium?
Should I worry more about my sugar intake or sodium intake for weight loss? I was keeping track of sodium and doing ok unless I ate bad things, but switched my counter to sugar and noticed I was quite a bit over my daily goal! Won't I lose more with less sugar? I don't have high blood pressure and don't add salt to…

bloating
Hi everyone, I have noticed that I am more bloated some days more than others and it has nothing to do with "the friend'. I found out that certain foods can cause bloating. Although we should eat these foods anyway, it is good to know why I feel more bloated at times, when it is not related to that time of month. "Some…

Almost zero cal. noodles!
I just wanted to share something really yummy! They are called "Shiritake" or Yam noodles. They have almost no calories and are a lot like cellophane noodles often used in sukyaki. They are made from yam root, and are pretty much non-nutritive. I buy them at my local japanese Foods market, but just recently saw them at…

So maybe there is some truth in not eating enough calories
My daily goal is 1340 calories. I earned 945 calories at the gym. I was there for three hours. I busted my hump! I ended up only consuming 1171 calories. I just wasn't hungry so I didn't eat anything else. I drank about 2 gallons of water also. So I get on the scale first thing this morning and I gained a pound!!! :noway:…

BMR question?
:grumble: Hey everyone- I am a bit confused. If my BMR is 1580, and I only eat 1200-1300 calories a day, is that how I lose weight?
