Slow weight loss stories
I'm hoping for a bit of encouragement and perspective. Have you lost weight slowly? My weight loss is roughly 1/2 lb per week. I thought that being 55 lbs above the healthy weight range was enough to warrant faster weight loss but it's really slow going. Currently I've clocked in between 10-12 lbs (scale fluctuations) lost…

Like my clothes got tighter and I have felt very fatigued. I have been breaking out bad. I even started intermittent fasting. I wake at 530am and workout (Sydney…

Am I doing something Wrong? 25 pounds down!
Hi all, I could really use some insight! I begin in November 2019 and have lost 25 lbs since then. Here is what I did to do so, I logged my calories with myfitnesspal, I mostly ate the same things everyday. My focus was mainly staying under my calories. I also used intermittent fasting 16:8. I drank 40 - 90 oz of water a…

Snarky comments
Why do people think it’s acceptable (or even as one said yesterday, “their duty”!!) to make comments on other people’s weight? Twice in the last two days I have been told by people I barely know (at work) that I apparently have “lost too much weight”. According to one, it will make my face go sunken and give me a wrinkly…

Clean Eating (Experience?)
Hey, so with clean eating, which is mostly natural, earth stuff, right? So veggies, fruits, and meats and things you don't have to add to, they just are? Well, how strict is clean eating? If you've tried it or currently eat clean, why do you like it? How did your body or mental health change? Big emphasis on mental…

Does MFP count sedentary as 5000 steps at least?
So, I am very new to this. And my friend who has been using MFP for quite sometime says, MFP counts your sedentary lifestyle as 5000 steps regularly. Context : I am 150cm/4'11'' and 115lbs/52-ish kgs. I have been meaning to lose about 15 pounds by the end of this year. I am not really sure how much do I eat, hence joined…

How to lose 40 lbs?
I’m 5 feet tall and I weigh 160 pounds. I’ve been exercising everyday using my indoor bike, taking walks and some weight lifting but I don’t seem to be losing weight and/or fat. Loose Skin Tips and Experience?
Hi there! I have 43 lbs left to lose and was wondering if I should be ready for loose skin? I realize every body differs, but I’d like aBy knowledge or wisdom others might have. What can I do to avoid it? There’s nothing wrong with it, but I think I’d be more comfortable without it. What has your experience been with it?…

Don't seem to be losing any fat even though in a 500 caloric deficit?
Hey all! I've been in a caloric deficit for the past month and I feel like I'm not seeing any progress. Of course, I know that month is not that long of a time period when losing weight, but I feel like I'm staying in one place. I'm currently eating around 1600 calories a day, which according to my estimated TDEE is being…

Too hot. Overheated.
I had to be outside today. It was 99 in the shade. That is a bit more than 37 C for the rest of the world. Basically, hot and humid. The air went out in my truck so I started off too hot. Ran out of cold water. Then the air conditioning wasn't working well if at all. So got way too hot in a hot dark green truck. I am…

Body fat testing and sad
My body fat tested and I’m feeling extremely sad and discouraged. I’ve been working so hard and I am kind of stuck so I thought I would go get a DEXA fit scan and my body fat percentage was off their charts I’m 43.9% body fat! I know better but mentally in my head I was saying oh as long as I’m in my mid-30s I will be OK…

Issues w/ Negative Calorie Adjustment Feature
Not understanding the math on this one. I know that the adjustment is calculated by taking the partner data and subtracting the MFP data from it. In this case, I should have an adjustment of +146 calories, but instead, it’s -689. I already tried resyncing and reconnecting my other devices/apps, but this was yesterday, so…

Healthy Rate of Loss
I see a lot of people commenting on those who have less than 20lb to lose saying they should aim for only 0.5 lb a week for a rate. I have been unable to find any studies or websites that say is necessary to go that slowly. Can anyone help me out with this? Is it just a way to make it easier since you can eat more? But I…

Carnivore diet
Hi everyone, I have been thinking of trying the carnivore diet. I have managed to lose 60lb, from 240lb to 180lb on conventional dieting and exercise. I tried keto, and fasting, both were good. Now I just track macros and do intermittent fasting. Want to try the carnivore diet to see what all the rage is about. Just a…

HELP! Can't stop GAINING weight??
I'm an 19 yr old female and I'm trying to lose 10 pounds of fat. I've been trying to lose this amount for the last 4-5 months. However, nothing I do seems to be working. I've tried OMAD for the first month with 1-2 hours of training a day. I then tried decreasing my fasting window to only 16:8 the second month because I…

I need some fitness/nutrition advice!
I'm 18 years old, female, 5'1, 130 lb, about 25-27% body fat (rough estimate). In the past 6 months, I have been working on developing muscle and strength with bodyweight and free weight exercises. I have gained about 15 pounds of muscle and fat. I am a LOT stronger and more muscular than when I started, but because I…

My meals: I'm stumped at the moment (app, ios)
I baked some brownies that went a bit wrong. Anyway, I have 600gr of brownie crumble at 2818 calories. That's my meal. I tried to add just over 100 calories of that to my diary and completely failed because I got really odd numbers. After experimenting a bit I found that one serving apparently is 1087 calories, and half a…

Is this realistic eating exercise calories?
So I have set my standard calories for 1200 calories per day before exercise. I exercise every day doing at least 1 hour of LES MILLS workouts. Possibly on average 9 hours a week mostly BodyPump and Bodycombat with random workouts in between. Can I eat all these calories back?
