I want to be 130lbs by my 21st birthday...is this realistic? Pics
Hi everyone! So, I began my freshman year of high school at 130 pounds thinking I was extremely overweight, constantly comparing myself to the 90-pound girls in my class. Instead of losing weight healthily, I would eat very few calories, trying for the goal of 110 pounds. This obviously was not sustainable, and I became…

Recipe calculator?
I made some blueberry muffins today and would now like to figure how many calories are in each one. Is there some tool on MFP that I am missing that will allow me to enter the ingredients and the number of servings it produced and figure precisely the calories?

Down 65 pounds and tendinitis isn't any better :(
So about 6 years ago I developed tendinitis in my left ankle. I weighed 265 at the time and my doctor said it would get better if I lost weight. I just hit under 200 this morning and if anything it's worse because I am more active. I wrap it up before I walk or ride my bike but at the end of the night my ankle is so…

Seriously confused about my goal weight
I’m trying to lose about 20-24 lbs but now I’m seriously confused because I looked at a picture of female body fat percentages and the 25-26% picture fit my description the best. I was even thinking of dropping down to 124 lbs because I’m 5’ 4”. So does that mean that if I want to get down to 20% body fat (approximately)…

Painful bumps from thighs rubbing together.
Hi y'all. I'm a big ol' boy, but I still log in excess of 13k steps a day in an effort to not be so big. Along the way, I have found multiple large, painful bumps on my inner thighs (and one someplace else that won't be mentioned) from my tree trunk legs rubbing together. How does a hefty fella like me keep those from…

Third Week of Dieting - Gaining Weight?
I'm very frustrated right now. I lost 10 pounds in my first two weeks ( started at 263, got to 252. Most likely water weight ) by exercising 30+ minutes 5 days a week and eating 1200-1400 calories. But now I'm slowly gaining. I've gone from 252 to 255. I never experienced this when I lost 60 pounds back in 2013. Is this a…

What can I do to get over losing 1 pound a month?
I am about 25 pounds away from my goal. But for the past months I have only been dropping 1 pound or so a month with the same calories (1,500) and exercising (walking 12 miles/week). Is this normal as I am getting closer to my goal weight or do I need to make a change, maybe increase activity etc? ANY advice is welcome.

Weight gain after restarting weight lifting routine two weeks prior?
Hi guys, I am in the middle of week 2 after restarting my weight lifting routine at the gym. I workout 5-6 days a week with a push-pull-hypertrophy split, but my body has been responding strangely. Perhaps its due to a cortisol response to restarting after a two month hiatus from any weight lifting(primarily did…

My love affair is over
I've owned various Fitbits since 2013 and I am currently on a Charge 3 which I have had for 6 months. I seem to have entered the realm of constant sync issues (not to MFP) but just trying to sync on a regular or automatic basis. I'm pretty much at the end of my tether with the random data it's sending out if I can get any…

Lesson learned : always count BEFORE you eat
Join me for a small cautionary tail of why pretracking is a good idea: I've bee off grains for over a month now (dr prrscribed ) and last night got a hankering for some good old crackers. Something crunchy and salty you know? Remembered I saw some grain free cracker recipes on Pinterest and whipped up a batch. They were…

Did weight loss lower your cholesterol?
Just got some lab results that show I need to work on my cholesterol levels. :# I know weight loss/diet and exercise is suggested to handle this but my dr also said that depending on genetics it may not really make a difference. Of course, I'm here because I was already trying to lose weight so now I'm curious about others…

Alternate day fasting
Hello! I'm making this post to not only connect with other people doing adf but to share what my first week has been like! So with my fast I finish eating around 7pm and then skip a day of eating and then eat around 7 am the next day so roughly 24hr without eating. And it has been incredibly helpful and easy! My problem…

Hey everyone. So I’ve been mostly brining my lunch to work. But sometimes I’m running late or don’t have the time to prep for it. So I’ll order take out. Anyone not using a scale?
So starting in December, I tried to switch to intuitive eating, as I had reached my weight goal in May of last year and lost 55lbs initially. I wanted to not have to track all the time so it seemed like the next best step. Also in December I decided to not use a scale anymore and to just go by how my clothes fit instead.…

Gym Guidelines
The gyms in Ohio open up this weekend.. I would love to go, but I'm afraid to go with the current Covid-19 situation. During the stay at home order, I bought some dumbbells and a bike, so I've been doing my workout at home every day. I can't decide if I want to start the gym back right away, or give it some time. What is…

Con to fast weight loss: Gall Stones
Another strike against VLCD, big calorie deficits, and trying to rush losing weight. If one loses weight too fast, the liver can create excess bile that can lead to gall stones. Many of us already have asymptomatic gall stones which are only found through scans for other reasons. I recently found out I do. So, how to avoid…

Slow weight loss stories
I'm hoping for a bit of encouragement and perspective. Have you lost weight slowly? My weight loss is roughly 1/2 lb per week. I thought that being 55 lbs above the healthy weight range was enough to warrant faster weight loss but it's really slow going. Currently I've clocked in between 10-12 lbs (scale fluctuations) lost…
