how do YOU like to calculate body fat %?
My scale tells me I'm at 44.5% whereas the army's formula measures me at 26.66%. Quite a difference. Is there any useful at home method that is remotely reliable? Obviously water displacement or the pods are the most accurate but who should the at home inquirer believe? Expensive scale or math? Looking in the mirror I have…

New to MFP and losing weight; Any advice?
Hi all, So I have used MFP in the past but decided to switch over to ww. I found that I really became uninterested in it and it was harder for me. I feel that this app has more freedom It's more detailed and I wasn't really seeing success with ww. I love this app but my one question is, Since I am new to losing weight, I…

Eating way less but feel full?
I am eating way less calories than what MFP is recommending. Well maybe I'm over exercising I'm just not sure. I'm not hungry ever. I just don't eat a lot of calorie filled foods...is this bad? I know everyone says if you eat less calories it can hurt you later on but honestly I'm eating about the same amount or a little…

What's your BEST way to start a day?
I'm about to head to sleep and I want to know your BEST way for guaranteeing you are going to have a good day tomorrow. Mine? I will wake up, drink water, brush my teeth, and MAKE MY BED! It sounds silly, but doing those basic things helps me get my ducks in a row and feel like I can take on the day prepared (and with less…

Restart, Reset, whatever it is
Trying to eat healthy when you're a stress eater, and currently BEYOND stressed, is like trying to put a tutu on a mountain lion. So to tame my lion, I drink a lot more water to keep me 'full' and therefore, in the words of my girl Heather, am "peeing like a race horse". Need any more analogies? I've got plenty. I lost…

What was your wake-up call?
Just out of curiosity, what served as the 18-wheeler hitting you head-on to let you know you needed to do something about your weight? I had a couple, but "the one" was when I saw a picture of myself and couldn't believe I had let myself go that far. That, and running out of clothes to wear and not being able to afford…

Any teens or 20-somethings with 70+lbs to lose?
Hi there. This is my first post in the MFP forums, although I've been using MFP for a little while now. I'm starting my weight loss journey over again. I lost about 40 lbs about 3 years ago for my high school senior photos, but I gained it all back plus about 10 extra lbs by not exercising and making poor food choices. I…

Day 3
This is my third day on my fitness pal and it has definitely made me more aware of what i'm eating as I know i'll be recording it at the end of the day. It's so easy to eat and not be aware of the calories i'm consuming. Of course, I still like the odd sweet treat!

How do you decide...
How active you are. I'm trying to lose about 30 pounds through calorie deficit & exercise however I have no idea how "active" I would consider myself. I walk often and I'm a cashier which are both light activities but I work in a wholesale store so I am constantly lifting between 30 to 60 lbs every other customer. I feel…
