Things I still don't understand . . .
I've been maintaining a few years. One thing I still do NOT understand. I'll be at a stable weight, probably slightly at the high end of my range. I'll have a high calorie day - yesterday I was hungry and went 500 over the day (I'm fine for the week). And the next day my weight will DROP. Like drop 4 pounds. It happens…

Looking for recomp but confused about IIFYM numbers and eating back excercise
Right! Background: So since January I've lost around 100 lbs. My starting weight was 235, I now weigh 127. My goal weight is 115-125. I'm 5'4 and 31 years old. Not sure what my body fat percentage is but I do know that I want to get leaner, right now I'm pretty soft. I'm "lightly active" I suppose, I'm a stay at home…

Fluctuating from goal weight very often
Hi everyone I was absolutely delighted to reach my goal weight two weeks ago, but since then I keep fluctuating from it. I weight myself twice a week and have noticed that any slight slip up and I go up one or two pounds - if I'm careful again for a couple of days, I'll go back to it! It's quite frustrating how hard it is…

BF % seems strange
I'm trying to focus on lifting now that I'm in maintenance so I decided to measure my body fat percentage with one of the online calculators recommended here on mfp. I do have diastasis recti so my stomach is distended, but it's not fat... My stats: 109 lbs, 5'3". BF %: 23%???? That makes no sense since I'm really thin.…

Lost 40+ lbs and maintained for one year
I am a quiet, private person. I don't post very often. But today, December 12, 2015, is my two year anniversary with My Fitness Pal. During my first year I lost 39 pounds. My goal for 2015 was to maintain that weight loss. Not only did I keep the weight off, I lost another 5 pounds over the past year. So, with the help of…

Anybody @ maintenance doing a high calorie day/lower calorie rest of the week?
I guess this is sort of a variation of a cheat day or cheat meal, but I'm thinking of trying out a system where I have a high calorie day followed by lower calories the rest of the week. The goal would be to hit my maintenance calorie level for the week rather than by the day. Sort of a "one off/six on" schedule for…

Would an iced cappuccino and iced coffee in the same day make me gain weight ?
It's in my calorie range but I'm overthinking it I haven't had and iced cappuccino in a long time but I'm worried I won't look good for the holidays. I've talked to someone about my issues with food but I'm hopeless

Goal Weight?
How do you know what your ideal goal weight should be? I do not have the resources to test my body fat %. I do know what my weight was when I was in really good shape but that was years ago and I'm sure I'm built much different now. Is there a science behind it?

I just started Body Beast from Beachbody
I'm wondering if this is enough to build good muscle and decrease body fat percentage. They focus on a different area once each week. Anyone tried it?

Calorie requirement does changes after losing wt?
I saw HBO documentry wt. loss (btw you can watch it on demand if you have HBO). It has very interesting segment which was focused on calorie requirement after wt. loss. According to them, once you loose wt. one needs to consume 10-20% less calorie than someone who is same ht, wt and age and never gained wt. It is for rest…

Too much weight loss? Counting Calories to maintain
I have been obese for over 20 years. This year, I finally did it. Through portion control, clean eating, and healthy living I dropped a ton of weight. When I hit 140 from 200, I was excited and more than happy with that weight. Then I kept dropping.... 130....125....115...still dropping. I literally rejoined MFP to track…

Should I cut more or switch to maintenance?
I asked this over at Eat Train Progress but no responses yet. I'll try here. I'm 46, 5'2", SAHM. Currently I do ICF 3x/wk & KB circuit training or HIIT once a week. I've lost 14 lbs & am 3 lbs from my initial goal weight. I'm happy with my progress but want to get leaner. My scale tells me I'm at 22.4% body fat. I know…

Is Calorie Counting the real reason for maintaining weight loss?
Or can everyone maintain lost weight without ever tracking food again? After reading some very good articles recently about why calorie counting isn't necessary, I have decided to give up calorie counting for the whole month of December and see if this is true or not. Thanks to Weightwatchers and MFP, I haven't gained any…

Ebb and Flow
I don't visit the boards often and almost never post. This morning I was a little board and drifted back to the boards. New to maintaining. How do I add calories
Well after 5 months I lost 52.2 pounds and am now about a pound under my goal weight. I switched to maintaining and now am supposed to go from 1200 to 1660. No clue how to do this. Yesterday I consumed 1100 and I excercised. Advice anyone?
