Getting Started with Maintaining Weight/Building Muscle?
I was too fat, now I'm a tad too skinny. That was a my bad; I got so used to eating 1300-1400 calories a day, that I was afraid to go any higher. To be honest, I still am, but I've definitely gotten too skinny. I was wondering how I should go about stopping losing weight? And then building a bit of muscle? I've changed my…

Help? Generally OK with weight, but...
I am currently just trying to maintain my weight (5'0" and 105 pounds). I'm generally okay with my appearance, but then I look at pictures of myself or see myself in the window of somewhere and then I feel fat. Then I eat at a deficit for about a week. I don't think this is healthy. Any suggestions?

Seeking Like Minded Maintenance Friends
Pretty much maintaining. May well add some more muscle at some point and return to a higher weight. I am looking for others who are maintaining, and who are preferably eating close to my own maintenance which is a net of 1600-1700, and a total goal of 2000-2800 per day. My profile is open if you want to know more about me…

How to stop obsessing and calorie counting
Looking for words of wisdom (or confirmation) if anyone can help. Over past 4 years I have gone from 224lbs to 120 lbs through a lot of hard work running and exercising along with an overhaul in diet and nutrition. But along the way lost sense of me and happiness. Now at a point where I am so proud of my physical…

Amount below maintenance for short women
I'm about 3 lbs above my goal weight and trying to think ahead to maintenance. I've read a few well-written and seemingly well-thought out posts that say that because the body wants to immediately replenish its water and glycogen stores, you should actually shoot for a weight below maintenance before bringing your calories…

What is your maintenance method?
Hi! I believe I'm eating far too little calories to maintain, and I finally want to develop a method of maintaining. I'm just curious as to what some of your methods to maintain are? For example how many calories do you eat daily? How often do you let yourself splurge? How do you handle going out to eat? Also, I was…

Miserable winter
I started a regime of walking for 1+ hours at least 3 times a week, often more, as well as some sporadic aerobics and weight training thrown in randomly maybe once a week. It worked for me for three months along with strict diet to bring me down a few kilos. I found the walking not only helpful in maintaining weight loss…

It has been working, though it's had its up and down's for example I haven't been able to go out to eat with my family on some occasions because it didn't fall within my eating…

If I eat 100 cals under maintenance...
So say if my maintenance is 1600 on average (I used several calculators and they were all in the 1600 range) and I eat 1500, would I lose weight.. albeit extremely slowly? Or would I sort of maintain? I'm a little afraid of maintenance, I'll admit.

Maybe it's mental, but maintaining is really difficult right now. Losing was so easy. Just eat less and move more, but now I have to eat the right amount in order to stay put. I'm trying to eat real foods, but I feel so full when I'm trying to eat 2,200 calories to maintain. That and I run, which according to my HRM can…

Fitbit and maintenance
Just curious about others experience with this. Every week fit bit sends a weekly report. It says how many calories were burned versus eaten that week. So far, it still shows me in a little bit of a deficit every week. Has any one else noticed if this is very accurate for them?
