Anyone out there gained due to nicotine withdrawl? Is it water?
This may be confusing to some but I was never a smoker. I started vaping about a year ago. It helped me as I continued to lose weight because it gave me more energy (I have chronic fatigue) and reduced my craving for sweet things. Now I have had to quit at least temporarily because I'm having surgery and the surgeon says…

What's your maintenance calorie number?
MFP will calculate your caloric needs, but it's not going to be 100% accurate for everyone. So question out of curiosity; For those who have found their maintenance calorie number, what is it, and how different is it from MFP's calculation?

Gaining Weight Back is my Biggest Fear Please Help!!!
Hello Everybody, I'm not yet at my goal weight but I just have a huge fear that when I do get to my goal weight that I would end up gaining it all back! 2 years ago I started out with being 180 and lost weight and got to 139 with my goal weight being 130 so all I ended up doing was going back to overeatting and gaining it…

Got to goal weight but now I’m gaining
I reached my goal weight and decided I wanted to stop counting the calories and just read my body’s hunger cues, being mindful of portions and continuing to work out (3x a week). However, it seems like my body naturally wants way more calories than my allotted 1550 maintenance (when I do log, the total is closer to 1800).…

Weight gain due to medications
This past month I started two medications. (Not going to go into what they are.) Almost immediately I put on a few pounds and went over my scream weight. I also became uncomfortably constipated. (TMI, I know!) It made no sense to me that this happened because nothing had changed for me in my diet or calories or exercise. I…

How does the app help in maintaining weight?
Hello, I've lost over 30lbs with the MyFitnessPal app and am now approaching my goal. I feel a lot lighter, slimmer and have been so pleased about going through my wardrobe and getting rid of clothes which are far too big for me. My question is now that I'm approaching my goal, can the app help me to maintain my healthy…

Body Fat Scales
I am in the process of shifting from weight loss to maintenance mode. As part of that, I have made toning up and building muscle one of my new goals. I bought a scale that measures body fat percentage - the EatSmart Precision GetFit Digital Body Fat Scale, to be precise. I have found that it gives me a very low reading…

Needs opinions on my eating schedule?
So over the course of a few months my eating schedule has changed drastically due to various reasons so I don't get hungry until way later on in the day and im actually okay with it because I end up eating less calories overall but I'm constantly being told (mostly by my parents) that I should change it up because the…

Figuring maintenance calories
I have decided to put myself on maintenance for the months of November and December. I still have 23 pounds to lose so I will hit it hard again in January. MFP put my WL calories at 1230. How do I figure my maintenance calories? I think if I don't gain any weight during the holiday season that will count as success.

Hi everyone! Soooooo this is exciting, I am almost at my goal weight of 120 lbs! I am 5’2, starting weight was 171lbs. What do you eat for...the meal..the time...or your body?
What makes you guys eat? Is it the time of day that you just go ahead and make lunch because you have work to do shortly after? Is it that you are actually physically hungry? Is it to meet calories?

Does maintaining make you feel bigger/fuller?
I finished completed my 12 week cut at the very end of October at 137.8 lbs. Since then, I've managed to stay around 140 lbs mark (I went up to 140 shortly after ending my cut.. like within the next week). I feel okay except for feeling bigger or fuller most of the time. Is this pretty normal? To feel fuller even though…

how to maintain weight after reverse diet?! and build muscle without fat
Hi! I am a 21 year old, 5'10'' female. I had an eating disorder and was doing 2 hours of cardio/day on 1000-1500 calories per day for over a year, and September 7th decided I had enough and finally committed to recovery. Now, I am training 5-6 days a week: 1 mile warmup run, weights, and then 15-30 minutes on the stair…

Adapting twice
So I hit my goal of 140lbs at 5'6 back in September having dropped from 199 at the start of 2017. I know this was fast, unfortunately my weight loss was triggered by a diagnosis of gallstones back at the beginning of the year. Controlling the pain was only achieved by eating very low fat, and due to a long waiting list at…

I hate eating out!
But i won't stop. Lol. More specifically, I hate logging restaurant calories because of the gross inaccuracy. I want Chipotle for dinner, but apparently there's an option for logging what i want to eat at approx 600, to a max of 890! I know some people are into putting in the higher rate, but should i just enter the 890…

Muscle maintenance without exercise?
A question in the main forums got me thinking. Just out of curiosity...can you maintain muscle in maintenance without exercise/resistance training? I would imagine, over enough time...you lose muscle and gain fat, the opposite of a recomp? For example.. if someone finds they are unable to workout for a few months but wants…

Maintaining without exercise, is walking alone effective?
I’m an 18 year old, 5’6, 120 pound female. I used to run 6 miles, 5 days a week, but the last 3 weeks of college I’ve barely run at all. I’ve been aiming at 1300-1400 calories a day. My weight has stayed consistent, but I’m worried it may be bacause I’m loosing muscle mass and it’s evening out the scale. Can I maintain if…

Please help me calories per day question
If i've been eating 800-1000 calories per day for about almost a year now.. if I up my caloric intake to 1300-1400 per day will I gain weight? I just really want to now but I'm a bit scared what will happen even if my bmr and TDE is a bit higher than 1400 since my body and metabolism is probably used to the low intake. I…

Maintenance calories increased
So, I've been in maintenance/recomp for 4 months. When I started I was eating 1600-1700 calories to maintain, any more and I started gaining. For the last month I've been eating 1800-2000 plus a cheat meal almost every week and I've been maintaining. Is this common with recomp?

Tall Women: How did you choose your maintenance weight.
I'm 5'11 and I've been losing weight since last February. My doctor wants me no lower than 160 pounds which is 14 pounds less than what I am right now. I've never been happy at that weight. I feel the best at 150. For you tall women like me, how did you decide on what weight to maintain? Did you go by your doctor's advice…
