Are Booty Bands Overrated?
I am postpartum with my third baby and every single postpartum workout plan I have found involves booty bands. I think when learning to reconnect to my core, booty bands can be effective, but now I am starting to add in my own outside workouts, and I have heard a lot of controversy on whether or not booty bands are…

Sauna Post Exercise - Sauna Blanket?
When I go to the gym I like to finish my workout with 10-15 minute sweat and relax in the sauna. Find it very relaxing and it seems to help my muscles and body after a an intense session. I looked into getting a sauna set-up in my home but the costs are prohibitive. Even for a small 1-2 person unit. Traditional sauna and…

Stepmania/DDR
Sorry if this thread has been done before... but I'm wondering if there any other DDR players left out there! I have a Cobalt Flux and play Stepmania through my laptop, hooked up to my TV. It's always been one of the only exercises that I can keep going back to and it's always just as fun. I played a lot at the arcades,…

Side pain from walking
This is an odd thing. I'm new again to exercise. I've worked my way up to a mile3-4 times a week. I'm used to my legs, knees, and ankles hurting. But my torso….particularly my side is hurting. It is all post exercise…..next morning or so. I assume this is a body mechanics kind of issue. Maybe from swinging my arms? I feel…

Fitbit Exercise Not Syching
I feel like this is a common topic, but I don't see any resolution to it. My Fitbit is synched to MFP. My steps transfer, but my exercise does not. I have used my PC to disconnect the two and then re-establish the connection, but that did not help. This is maddening! I know I can log my own exercise, but I bet that double…

Older couples shouldn't exercise together
A recent study from Singapore found that older adults who exercise with their spouse achieve lower physical activity levels than older adults without their spouse. Mutual motivation and support aside, maybe it's best to do your own workout.

Enable Negative Adjustments
Without this setting we get Calorie goal - food + exercise With it I get Calorie goal - food - exercise So exercising is substracted? In other words if my goal is 2000 per day and I burn 2000 calories exercising, I cant eat? That doesn’t make sense.

How to resume marathon training after getting hit with the flu
Hello I am in the middle of training for a marathon and got struck down hard with the flu and sinus infection combo. It’s been almost 2 weeks of feeling run down, cough etc. I have not had a fever for almost a week, but still taking medications to get back to normal (antibiotics and steroids). How to log steps
Hi there, I'm a new member ( 12 days!) getting into the swing of logging food and exercise. I'm of the "dinosaur no technology "type group and have a pedometer which fits on my waist band of trousers. Is there a way to log how many steps I've walked WITHOUT having to have a new device which is synched to MFP. ? Not keen on…

Should I pause my weight loss (@90% in) to work on lean mass? Post-DEXA scan question.
I'm an early 50s, 5'4.75" (164.5cm) female who has lost roughly 125lbs (56.7kg). I'm currently sitting at 158lbs (71.7kg) and am guessing that I will probably need to lose another 18 to 23 lbs (8.2 to 10.4kg). My main target is to be at a healthy weight for my age that gives me enough room for natural fluctuations without…

home treadmills hurt my knees - any ideas as to why?
i've owned a number of treadmills throughout my adult life, and every one of them caused me knee pain while walking does not and gym treadmills do not. all but one of the treadmills were folding - we just don't have the room for one without that. i'm careful not to drag the belt faster when i walk, and this just drives me…

Calories burned doing Massage
I added a routine of simply doing stretches: Lats & traps 20 min, shoulder 1 min, hamstrings 2 min & chest 1 min. Shows I would burn 247 calories. That is simple stretches. Someone commented that massaging doesn't count as an exercise. My comment to them is: I never do the exact same massage for every person. I walk around…

Do you turn off Apple Watch calorie adjustment?
So far, I always leave it on, but it becomes discouraging, not getting any credit for daily activities, like shopping and doing whatever, without it officially being an exercise. and even when it’s an official exercise, it deducts a lot of my hard earned calories that I burned.

My Fitbit isn't syncing my steps properly into MFP
I'm hoping someone can help me. I synced my Fitbit to MFP and the first two days it worked perfectly. Now the last couple of days it's all over the place. One day showed I had 6000 steps when I really had over 14,000 then the next day showed me having 26,000 steps when I only had 12,500. It's driving me nuts. I keep trying…
