Hello 👋🏽 I am taking a trip end of July to NC and there are two tours I want to go on. One is an hour long bike ride through the city I'm staying in and the other is a day hike. I want to physically prepare myself for this. I just got into hiking about a month ago. I go for short day hikes on my weekends now that the…

Effective and Efficient Strength Training for Older Women
I'd like some help with choosing an effective and efficient strength training program. I have not done any regular consistent weight training for at least 25 years. When I did, it was mainly machines and dumbbells. I have never used barbells and feel a little intimidated by them, but would be willing to do it if it gets me…

Runners Question... Pain in shoulder
I've been running consistently for the past year. Recently, last 10 days, I have been experiencing a strong pain in my left shoulder when running. It started with just a mild pain that would go away after the 1st mile. The pain has been lasting the entire run into the day/night. Needing Advil or Tylenol as well as a muscle…

What do you think?
Hi! I could really use some new input, and more importantly, a little reassurance that im on the right track 💪 Googling did not provide me with the right answer yet. 36 year old mother, 1.62m/63kg and been doing 3x weight training (home, weights) and daily dogwalks for 3 months now. No big results, so time to ditch the…

Am I really unfit??
I am by far from a couch potato, I weight lift 3 days a week and I was doing body pump/other bits of cardio 2-3 days a week. My job is fairly active and I usually do a 4 mile walk once a week although it's not fast paced since I'm taking small kids to school. I've been trying to complete couch to 5k on and off since 2012…

4 foot barbell - bad idea?
I’m a 46 yo female non athlete looking to gain some strength with weights. I do not have room at home for a bench, and getting to a gym is difficult. I was thinking of getting a barbell to do barbell rows, overhead presses, and curls. Maybe deadlifts if it goes well and I buy more plates. Is there any reason I can’t just…

Are my steps being double counted?
Hi! I am Jay. I have just started using myfitnesspal, and need some clarification. I have used running as my exercise, but my watch also counts my steps and uploads them to the app. My running gets added go my exercise, but then the steps I take running are also added. Is it okay to lift 5 days in a row?
I do a 4 day upper/lower split and sometimes take a rest day in the middle, or do all 4 in a row. Since I'm doing my last lift of the week tomorrow and need to get next week's in lifts in before I leave for vaca, I will be lifting 5 days in a row. Is that fine? I'd be resting for days after.

Pre workout
Ok so I have been back in the gym a good few month now and I have never taken pre workout. A strong coffee or sugar free energy drink doesn’t count right? So my question, does pre workout really help you push harder/further in the gym? And if so what pre workout do you take?

Which pain today?
A wise man once told me there are two types of pain in life you will have to pick from, and you must choose one: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret. Whoever out there today needs a little motivation, a reason to move or feel better, I wish you all success in whatever you chose to do. You can do it, and remember;…

Have you ran a 5k when you thought it was impossible?
Hello everyone! I’m gonna make a long story short. I’ve wanted to run a 5k, I started training for it and dropped it after a while cause once i reached my goal, I got outside to do it (had been training on the treadmill), I could only run about a mile and that was pushing it. Recently I’ve gotten a burst of motivation to…
