Exercise bands
Started seeing a weight loss doctor and she said I needed to do some exercises with resistance bands so I don't loose muscle and stall my weight loss. Anyone know of any good videos I could watch on the exercise bands?

Cycling is a "good deal" (maybe too good...)
I know it's come up before, but I am just amazed that Garmin will give me ~800 extra calories for cycling to work and back (9.5m each way with a moderate climb). Lot's of people may jump in and claim "that's too much," but I've found the cycling estimates lead to weight maintenance. The only catch is that I can easily…

Logging core work?
I'm new to MFP and not sure how to log some exercises, specifically a circuit of body weight core exercises. I did see an entry for crunches but the database search didn't return anything for plank, bicycles, or marching from a bridge position. I'm not really looking for calories burned when doing these so I expected to…

Exercise?
How much is enough? I've tried to do 10,000 steps or more per day since I was like 11 and I fricken hate it. I've had a guts full. I am thinking that I hate exercise and sports. My bmi is like 45 or something. I thought I could get away without doing any, but apparently it's important for your health? also, is strength…

Exercise Minutes per Week
Good morning, I get about 500 exercise minutes a week. Mostly from walking but I also do strength training 2x a week. Does this seem ok? I am 6 months post weight loss surgery and just trying to live my best life! Note: I only count the minutes my Apple watch deems as exercise minutes (elevated heart rate). I do not count…

Increased workouts & bloating
Hello, So about 3-4 weeks ago I really upped my exercise duration/intensity and started incorporating more running and long walks into my routine. I’m feeling frustrated because I’ve noticed an increase in bloating and almost like I’ve been gaining weight, but it feels like water retention and not true weight gain. Does…

Fitness tracker for someone that moves there arms a lot
Hi all, I am looking for a fitness tracker that will record my steps, and be able to sync with myfitnesspal , the only problem is I work a lot in a coffee shop using multi-machines so both hands are always all over the place which means I think would affect how many steps/exercise I would do. What tracker would you…

discrepancy between step trackers
This is bugging me so much. My husband's phone and fitbit both are logging his steps at an astronomical rate given his activity level. Yesterday he supposedly got 9000 steps without leaving the house, and our house isn't that big! Last week we spent the entire day together, other than I left him to find a bathroom and…

silver sneakers
Hubby and I just got our Silver Sneakers cards and are wondering if it's worth joining some programs. We have a treadmill and weight bench at home that I (not so much hubby) use regularly so I'm not sure if I want to join a group thing. Also has anyone joined the online Silver Sneakers program and if so have you found it…

hip pain & weights vs body weight
I am a long time gym rat but had to cut way way back when I developed chronic right hip pain a few years ago. I am 41. I am not getting any super clear answers about source of pain; I have a small labral tear but doctor cannot reproduce my pain in office (negative FADIR) and I have spondylolisthesis with some facet joint…

Not all exercise syncing
I've noticed that not all my exercise is syncing to Myfitnesspal. All my exercises are logged on my Apple Watch and on Strava. Any ideas why some exercises don't sync? For example, I did a 45-minute Peloton session on Friday followed by a 5-minute cool-down ride. The cool-down ride synced but not the main one.

Cycling and walking calories strava
Does anyone know why when I walked 1.6 miles in 30 mins this morning, according to Strava I burnt 212 calories but when I went for a bike ride for 40 mins and cycled 7.1 miles I only burnt 172 calories even though I was far more out of breath and my legs hurt far more on the bike ride? It doesn't make sense. I wasn't…

Hula hoop - aerobic exercise?
For Reasons, I’m trying to figure out a replacement for the treadmill starting in the fall. I saw hula hooping as a suggestion somewhere. Is that really an adequate aerobic exercise? I’m hoping it is because I have some limitations and this could be a good solution. (Would continue with free weights as well, just looking…

The only core exercise you need
Wall bars leg raises are the primary exercise for the abdominal muscles in gymnastics. By doing only them, you become able to perform all other exercises for the core, therefore making them unnecessary. https://youtube.com/watch?v=qCNJu3THZaU

Shoe Recommendations (UK)
Hi all, I've been walking to lose some weight (Down from 265lbs to 245lbs so far) and I seem to be killing shoes. My first pair were Air Nike's and I wore them all the time for about 6 months, then they lasted 2 months with my added walking. I then bought a pair of Sketchers GoWalk and it took 4 weeks and 100 miles before…

Low-impact cardio without equipment
Hey, everyone! For the last several months, I've been addicted to doing high-intensity exercise in the morning when I get up (mostly to keep my anxiety at bay). I was doing jump squats and running in place (getting my heart rate in the 150s-160s). However, I recently sustained at least two (possibly 3) stress fractures in…

Apple Watch Calorie Adjustment + Exercise Calories
I am lost on how to set up my apple watch to MyFitnessPal to optimize the accuracy of the calories I get. I move a lot because of my job and I usually do around 2 hours of intentional walking a day. I am tracking my weight and calories to get an idea of how accurate the adjustment is, but I was wondering if anyone has had…
