Dieting.
So I'm really against dieting. Other people can do what they want but for me, if I'm completely deprived of something, I can't lose weight at all. My sister was just going on and on about how I eat horribly and how I will never lose weight and it's really discouraging me. She lost a ton of weight last year but she…

How did you LEARN to eat healthy?
I'm assuming if you are on here are trying to lose weight like I am, then you have not always eaten the best, most nutritious foods in the proper amounts, also like me. If you have changed the way you eat, added or deleted certain foods from your diet, or modified the way you prepare foods, where did you get the ideas to…

Wow no wonder...
So kinda fell off the wagon yesterday... okay so that's a bit of an understatement. Had a great breakfast, skipped my workout because I was supposed to go snowmobiling all day (the way I ride it's a HELL of a workout). One of out sleds broke 1/2 mile up the trail. Came back home. Ended up going to Pita Pit (with good…

Pop Up Bowl Popcorn measurements
I just bought the Orville Redenbacher's Pop Up Bowl popcorn and am confused as heck about how to measure it. The nutritionals say 210 calories etc per 11 cups popped (50 g.) But each bowl/bag is listed as 70g. Is the weight they give in the nutritionals pre-popped or post-popped you think? Cause that would make each bag a…

Non dairy milk
I am a new vegetarian. I never liked to drink cows milk but I am going to buy a carton of almond, rice or soy milk today. I haven't tried any of them. I probably would prefer the one with the least taste:). What do you use? What is the difference regarding protein content , and price? Thanks:)

New Food Group....COSTCO!
I went sample crazy at Costco today. Does anyone here actually count those calories or do you just do a quick add guesstimation of calories? Personally, I don't count them, because Costco day is my cheat day anyway, so it kinda works out. Just curious what everyone else does.

Yesterday, I think I had a pretty good day. remembered to log what I could, the rest is usually at work and I don't have access to…

On the road, away from home, eating out
Hey all, I'm an existing MFP'er so just to make the point that this isn't a New Years resolution failure! I am a software consultant so I'm always on the road and away from home. I've been reasonably good at maintaining my weight since I lost 22kg but I want to lose some more but I'm finding it difficult (I wasn't a…

smart ones/lean cuisine/healthy choice
I've had family members use Jenny Craig before and I have always loved the fact that their meals come pre packaged. So starting in the new year, I'll be using pre packaged meals (smart ones, lean cuisine and healthy choice) to help control my eating habits. I feel like if the portions are controlled, I may be able to…

Healthiest Starbucks options? NOT black coffee.
I'm never sure what to get from there anymore & standing in line checking the stats of each drink on MVP is a little embarrassing. So what do you like to get when you go there that is low in calories, sugar & fat? *OTHER THAN BLACK COFFEE* which is an obvious option.

Calling all vegans!
I've been vegan for the past 7 years, and at times have eaten very healthy and other times been a total junk food vegan. I'd love to hear how you came to live a vegan…

Losing fat, gaining muscle - weight constant
Over the last two months, my weight has stayed the same. However, I have definitely lost fat and my strength has increased. Using the information from entering what I eat, I have found a ratio of carbs/fat/protein that works for me. In the past, when losing fat I have always lost strength. This is the first time I was able…

Dark Chocolate...
I started with 70% + a long time ago, and worked up to 85% (I settled on Lindt). I recently bought a bar of 90%, but the consistency went from a still creamy-esk texture to a waxy texture. It doesn't taste "bad" but it does not have the enjoyment factor. I could not, on first try, handle the 85%. I actually threw a few…
