Regarding "This is why you're fat"
quoting the other thread above..... I read all these responses there... and a few of you admit to finding these foods to be something you'd eat - but most of you say "Yuck!" or "Gross!" - and it makes me wonder, how DID you get fat if you don't find these foods attractive at all? Did your tastes just miraculously get…

Sweet Treats
What's your favorite, low calorie, sweet treat? I'm trying to cut out as much sugar as I can, but this lack of sugar is starting to take over my brain. What do you reach for when you need a sweet treat?

Who has increased their calories with success?
MFP sets me at 1200 calories. I am 5'2" and weigh 118, but would like to weigh closer to 110 (although I'm not terribly concerned with getting that low -- I'm perfectly comfortable with 112-114). I exercise a lot, six times per week, alternating between 45-60 mins. of cardio and 45-60 mins. of strength training. I'm…

I'm making a recipe that my dad gave me.....not sure if he made it up or just heard it somewhere but he just kind of wings it so I have no idea how much a serving size is or how many servings there are. Exercise Calories
Does any body else find it hard to eat all their calories. I NEVER thought this would be a problem with me! I worked out today, and now, of course, I have more cals I have to eat. And everyone keeps saying that they've lost weight better when they've eaten those cals. So I'm trying. But my gosh....I can' possibly lose…

The Low Glycemic Index Diet ?
i'm not looking to try this diet. I like the MFP way...but i just read an article on The Low Glycemic Index Diet.....here's some of it... "The Low GI Diet focuses on foods that are 'Slow-release' in your body. What this means is that when you eat any food, your body digests that food either, quickly, or Slowly depending on…

oh my goodness... high fructose corn syrup...
So I've started to try to eat as healthy and natural as possible. Lo and behold, last night I was listening to the radio station on the way to the grocery store and, perfect timing, the guest speaker was this guy called Chef MD who wrote a book about "culinary medicine". I guess he has a show called What's Cooking on…

A great salad! YUM!!
One of my favorite things to make is an Asian Broccoli Slaw. I usually use Mann's Broccoli slaw and Newmans Own Lighten up Asian salad dressing. I mix about 2 cups of the slaw per 2 tbsp of the dressing and let it sit in the fridge awhile so the slaw can soak up the dressing! It is SUPER filling, nutritious and tons of…

Hoe to keep bagged salad fresh
When I bought my giant bag of salad greens, it seemed like a good idea, now I'm wondering how to keep it fresh short of eating it for all three meals:laugh: With heads of lettuce I have wetted a papertowel and wrapped it up. Any suggestions?

Does everyone watch the numbers in each category?
I was wondering if you all paid attention to the intake in all categories. For example..I try to stick to my calorie intake alone and will notice that even if I don't go over in calories, I'm seriously negative in sugar or sodium. I really don't pay attention to much except the protein because I try and get lots of…

What kind of example have you set?
Okay. So, this is not just about me but my five year old son. Since I've started being more concious about my eating habits, I'm noticing more about his. I blame myself mostly and my husband and other adults he's been around a little bit too. But of course children learn by example. Let me get to my point. Over the past…

After a large workout
I got out of work early today, and was able to spend a fun, pumped two hours at the gym and burned 1k calories, which is what I try to aim for when I have the time to spare. However, I was STARVING when I got out, and I rarely am EVER that hungry, even after such a satisfying workout. It caught me so off guard that after…

Do these calories seem realistic?
Lord, I'm so happy I didn't grow up in the Cold War era. I would have probably bombed St. Petersberg. Anyway, back in The Real World with my (pretty healthy) school cafeteria, I STILL seem to be coming up a bit short on calories. Soo...does it seem like I've portioned them out right, and that it's a realistic amount? Do I…
