Took a break, gained some weight, and now I'm back.
Hello all: This scenario is nothing new and has been discussed on here many times and many ways. I'm just using this tool to put on paper (as it were) as self therapy to get me back on track. I've been logging on here for years, and it really does help keep one accountable, and I've been able to maintain my weight fairly…

Slimming World
Has anyone tried or is currently following the slimming world plan? I joined ages ago, got all the info but found the group situation really awkward (it was over zoom due to covid) and stopped. I've since gained another half a stone by being very lazy and also having way too many takeaways over the 2 weeks that we moved…

Should I be eating 3 meals a day, or is skipping lunch ok?
I find that my breakfast is higher calorie than lunch, which is almost nothing since I eat salads. I'm left in the end of the day with over 1k calories so my dinner is larger. I still feel like I limit myself for dinner and would like to include lunch calories for that meal, but I don't know what that does for my…

Where do you retain water?
Odd question - do you retain water in the same places you put on fat? So I've been doing ok with weight loss for my wedding, getting married this Saturday. The dress will still likely be a bit tight around my ribcage. I was thinking I should have very limited salt in the days running up, because I don't want my dress to be…

Using Beer as motivation.
Not sure if this is the correct forum, but wanted to share. The most direct route to my local watering hole is 1.19 miles. This particular watering hole "rewards" it's customers with swag after so many beverages have been consumed, but only 4 per day... Those 4 can be 10, 16 or 26 ounces. I am on the verge of getting to…

Calorie intake
I went on a 16 mile hike today. I averaged 29 mins a mile, this includes breaks for snacks or pictures and overall I walked 20 miles. My total calorie intake for today has been 2500kcal. That is nearly 1000kcal over my limit, excluding exercise calories but, I know the exercise can be inaccurate. Will I be okay…

What kind of technology are you guys using?
I am a tech nerd (yes, I admit it), but I have struggled to find a good set of tools. Also, I am concerned about data privacy. What are you using, has it helped you, what features are missing that other tools might have? Totally curious!

Quitting Optavia and don't want to backslide - any advice?
I was on the Optavia program for three months. I took a few breaks because it was not something I wanted to strictly follow on vacation or when scuba diving and burning a lot of calories. I lost over 20 lbs in that period, but had some issues I just can't handle long term. It is super low calorie (800-1000) and the food…

Softer or harder?
I have an adjustable air-filled mattress, which has been an absolute blessing for my wife and I who share different preferences in mattress stiffness levels, especially when she was pregnant and could adjust her side of the bed to something different every single night. Currently, she prefers 100, I keep my side around 70.…

I did a quick forum search but the entries were 6 years old...😅 Is Scooby's still one of the best TDEE calculators or has anything more recent come out? Thanks for answering...🥰

Sigh... who knew there were this many calories in vitamins?!?
Today I decided to set up my food diary to track my medications and vitamins, and really looked at the nutrition label on my vitamin bottles. Yikes! I was expecting there to be calories in gummy type vitamins, but was surprised to see how many calories there are in some of those "just swallow this pill" types. In…

What small changes have helped you lose weight?
So this isn’t my first time at the rodeo. I’ve successfully lost 20 or so lbs a few times now. But I always end up slipping into old habits and gaining it back. This time I am really trying to determine what my specific eating issues/bad habits are so I make some hopefully more long-lasting changes. So far I’ve identified:…
