BMI 22.0 BF: 23.6% Size: 8-10-12 (it's all over the place…

Losing weight but not inches
Hello all! Hope everyone is having a great day! I started my journey to a healthier lifestyle January 1, 2021. It wasn't a new years resolution or anything, I literally just woke up and decided I needed to make a change. Anyway, since then I've lost 35 lbs (yay!) (I'm a very big girl so 35lbs is only 11.5% of my starting…

So I jogged today
And I didn’t feel pain. Ok maybe a little chin pain but I never jog so I thought maybe that was normal. I am actually happy about this 😀. I literally jogged for maybe three minutes. Let me tell you why this is such a big deal to me. I have had back pain since I was a kid. I remember crawling on the floor as a teen from…

Depression and Weight Loss
Having experienced bouts of Depression over the years, I have found that my mood impacts in direct and indirect ways my weight issues. The direct impact is eating more food when I am feeling down and or hopeless as I think less of the longer term consequences rather than the immediate sense of trying to fill a void in my…

Large meal out how many calories, damage to progress, and eating food to avoid waste.
Someone posted that they had a nice Chinese meal where they shared plates with others, and then ate a complete portion of fried rice brought out by mistake because it was non vegetarian leaving them as the only person who could consume it. They were wondering if 1600 Cal would be a reasonable estimate and whether this…

My Week by Week Experience with None To Run (N2R)
I am starting a new running program. For those of you who have been following along for a while, you know that 9 years ago I ran/walked a half marathon and then haven’t run much since. When I was training for my half, I used Couch to 5K (C25K) initially to get me started. I successfully used that method, of walk/running…

Gaining when I should be losing weight
I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I just started trying to lose weight and had good success the first couple of days. But the last three days in a row have either been no change or I gain a half pound even though with the exercise I log, I am under my calorie target by about 1000 calories. Why am I not losing weight?

Stopped losing weight after 30lbs
I started intentionally losing weight back in June 2020, when I realised I'd become a bit bigger at the start of lockdown. So I started exercising regularly, logging my food and eating a calorie deficit, and it worked great! By October, I'd lost 30lbs. But at the end of October, I caught Covid, and didn't eat much food for…

Estimating Pizza calories (local parlor pizza)
A typical parlor pizza is 14 inches in diameter. From geometry that is 154 square inches (or 154 pieces of pizza that 1inch by 1 inch). A 14 inch pizza has a total of 2280 calories on average. If cut in 8 slices, that is 285 calories per slice on average. Doing the math, you can estimate that for every square inch (1inch…

Goal Calories Decreasing?
I adjusted my calories for maintenance yesterday because I felt like eating more. Today, my goal for the day is 200 calories less than it has been in a long time. Is this normal? Should I trust MFP? I’ve lost 50lbs total (40 in 20 weeks) following 2230 per week. Is it because I lost weight?

TDEE vs NEAT
I have been reading in the forums a lot lately people saying this... "I use TDEE-20% but I calculated my TDEE at Sednetary and eat my exercise calories back" Well my typically response to that statement is "You are doing it wrong" which always ends up in a debate about semantics etc... Not to be nit picky but that is not…

MFP overestimating allowed calories?
Does anyone else ever feel like MFP is giving you too many calories? I'm 5'4", 221 lbs, 40 year old female. I have an office job so I'm definitely sedentary. MFP tells me that to lose 1 lb a week I can eat 1580 calories. I've been doing that fairly consistently but it's very rare that I actually lose a pound a week. I do a…

Is it CICO or not?
I tend to lurk more than post but I have a serious question. I have gotten a lot of help and info from the forum over the years. However, I continue to be confused when I read responses to individuals that “you need to be eating more” or “the last 10 pounds are the hardest” or general comments that would indicate the CICO…

Fiber calories
So, in doing some basic math on macro to calories, it appears a lot of foods do not count the fiber grams into their calculation of calories. Now, for me, at around 25-30 fiber grams per day, that is roughly 100-120 not being factored into the daily calorie budget. That may not be a lot when you have a lot to lose and a…
