Why did the number on the scale go up this week? Here's why.
At some point early when you start trying to lose weight, it’s highly likely that you’ll step on the scale one day and see that your weight is up. When this happens, people panic, get angry, get frustrated, or sometimes, give up. (It's heading toward late January, so a lot of people are hitting this point now or will be…

I gained 30lbs this year...not sure how to get back on track?
So I was doing fine up until May 2020 and I got a case of mono. Body fatigued, tired, sick, etc... Also my career is pretty much lightly to moderately active and have been working home ever since March so that doesn't help. On top of that, I have fluid up buildup in my knee since July. So I have constant knee pain. Also…

To lose the weight (22kg), I limited myself to 1200 calories per day and attended three exercise classes per week. Two weeks ago, I downloaded an app called Lifesum which tracks your…

Does being post partum change the calories in and calories out rule?
How accurate is the fitbit TDEE? I have a Versa that I have worn for almost two weeks now waking and sleeping. A generic internet TDEE calculator puts me at 3000 cals a day. Fitbit puts me at 3400-3700 a day. I'm eating between 1800-2000 a day. Haven't lost a single lb in 30 days and that's with a consistent diet of…

Can you see...
I lost 60 lbs May 2019 - April 2020...and gained 12 back - thank you Covid stress. Anyway, I regrouped and am back. I, without thinking, changed my goal - not realizing that I really wanted that original weight start. Is that somewhere on myfitnesspal or is it a distant memory?

Weight loss as a surgical resident
TL;DR Just looking for tips on how to lose/maintain weight loss when you can't adapt your eating habits naturally, have an unpredictable schedule and engage in a fairly unhealthy lifestyle (in terms of sleep/work/eating patterns, not nutritional content). I have been experimenting on my own, but maybe there are some things…

How do I make this a lifestyle?
We all know that making a healthy lifestyle and sticking with it is the key to weight loss success in the long run. But how does one do it? I'm one of those people who once I lose the weight goes back to binging sweets again. I want to enjoy life and food but also not gain... Which is a struggle.

HELP - What is the best exercise app (free)?
So I have been trying to use Sworkit - but I don't like that it's just a little guy with white background doing the motion/exercise over and over like a little robot. I do like the fact that it gives you a program (I am doing Couch to Fit) - three workouts this week, four next week, five after that and starts slow and…

MFP calories expenditure figures can be so off.
Since the beginning of this year, I added cross-country skiing to my daily routine. For a moderate effort (in sweat) and my weight, MFP estimates 705 kcal per hour. I noticed that my weight loss pattern has changed in the last 2 weeks. Looking at other calculators, MFP is the highest of all by almost 200 kcal. Moral of the…

Activity level help
I currently work a desk job. 8 hours a day but I use walking as my exercise 6 or 7 days a week. Average about 5- 5.4km per hour is my pace. I usually walk about 5km per day on weekdays and longer at weekends. Would this mean I should select lightly active?
