Visceral Fats fluctuate.
Hi all. I am 50 yrs old, 1.77m, 86kg today. In December 2017, I was 104 kg. Just last month, I got a fat measurement machine and started to chart my fat percentage. I am happy to see my fat percentage drops, but one thing I could not understand is, how come my visceral fat fluctuates up's and down's, from 18 to 16,…

Going back to the grindstone *sigh*
So had my birthday yesterday and I had planned to bank calories leading up to it but that didn't work out so what's the best plan of attack to get back at it? I'm sure I easily consumed 2500 - 3000 i might have consumed less but I'll use that as a base how many days should I allow to balance it out and get normal service…

Gastric bypass and habits
Someone I know has struggled with her weight for years. She's tried dieting, lost pounds here and there, then gained them back. She blames most of it on depression, which for her is a catch-22. She's a comfort eater, which is exacerbated by depression, and she's more depressed because she's overweight. She also complains…

Why am I losing so slow?
I’m following a 1200 daily calories. I have been exercising twice a day. I don’t add the workout calories to what I eat. I have been diligently logging everything that goes in my mouth. I’ve only lost 3 pounds in six weeks. I lost 28 pounds from January to March before I started the app. I’m eating less then before and was…

Hello people, I have done my research, ordered my groceries and from tomorrow I will take a shot at the 5:2 fasting. I believe that it is suitable to me since I only have to worry about two days and just eat normally the other 5 (I am not into everyday sweets and junk food so I qm relatively safe). Any tips from anyone? Or…

13 down, 10 to go
I've adjusted my diet and exercise routine and took off 13 pounds in about two months. I've plateaued since then. It's pretty obvious that I have another 10 to go. I already feel hungry often and I'm working out every day - I've missed two days since I started my routine. Not sure how to get to my next target. Can someone…

Maintaining Muscle During Race Season
Hi Everyone, This winter I did a 15 week strength training program. It was all about a) eating at a deficit b) doing varied strength routines 6 days per week and c) very limited cardio (I focused on learning to jump rope). The results were great. I didn't lose that much weight (~10lbs), but I I'm really happy with my…

Manually add steps
So I've just been out for a brisk walk, although it only ended up to be 3 miles but a brisk pace. I don't have my Google Fit tracking steps into MFP because I understood it wasn't correct when you are on the lowest activity levels, but should I be looking at manually adding this in?

So confused!
I am 62 years old and weigh 165 pounds. I have recorded every morsel of food I have put in my body for 180 days. I walk and or do strength training almost everyday. My Apple Watch says I burn over 250 calories with each workout. At the end of the day my Apple Watch reads between 750-900 calories burned including those…

I was aiming for 1450 calories a day and have incorporated some exercise. I'm averaging a loss of 600 calories a day through exercise. I feel my meal plan has been really good, I'm…

1500 calories a day is too much
My aim is to loose weight and so far I'm moving in the right direction by eating less calories however I'm told here that for a male I must have at least 1500 calories a day. This is too much for me to meet because I get full quickly and before you say I might not be measuring my food correctly trust me I am. 1500 cal is…

acceptance?
I joined this site 4 years ago with the goal of wearing a bikini on my 50th birthday. I did, getting down to about 137 lbs. Once I reached my goal my husband begged me to eat & not count calories saying he would rather I be fat & happy then skinny & bitchy because I was starving & obsessed all the time. On my weight loss…

Keto, Low Fat, or Plain Old Calorie Counting?
After several surgeries and copious steroids, my weight is creeping back up. I decided to get serious and have been trying Keto for the last week but feel like garbage. Due to health issues and allergies, I can’t eat things like nuts, seafood, fibrous veggies, or soy. It is making it very difficult to eat enough low carb…

Am I doing everything correctly to my path of wellness?
For the past 3 years, I have been working out 3 to 6 times a week. I normally alternate between strength and cardio. At the beginning, I was 120 lbs at 5'3" wearing a size 0. I am able to maintain my weight at 150ish, and am no longer able to wear my pants anymore. I took measurements and it seems as though I am now a size…

Eating exercise calories
I’ve always struggled with this and felt guilty, lost and confused about calories. I’ve gave up, started again and continued on this cycle for far too long. For the first time I’m going to put all my exercise calories in my diary and eat them if I want to and wait and see what happens.

Hitting a Plateau
I have been on this journey for about a year now. In that time I have lost 30-35 lbs. I've gone from being 290 to 260. Sometimes dipping down just under about 256. I am eating roughly 2100 Cals and working out 5 days a week recently joining Athlean-X for my workout routines. But for the last 4 months I can not for the life…

What's different this time?
This time I tell myself "No." I have a whiny, manipulative side that I have given the power to for too long. Thus the weight gain. My "inner brat" doesn't care if I feel badly for failing on a daily. She just wants immediate gratification. My long term goal requires that I take control away from her, just as I would a…

1200 seems low?
Why does mfp always give me around 1200 calories? I put sedentary or whatever the lowest is and then a small loss a week but it always seems to be some variant of around 1200. I just let my Apple Watch I put calories burned for my exercise numbers. I usually work out five times a week. At least since quarantined started. I…
