Estimating calories without a food scale
I noticed that a food scale is considered extremely important around here. I don't have one. I may get one but until then, how successful can you be without one? And what would you say about having a sort of policy of overestimating calories on everything you eat for those without a food scale? I ask that because it seems…

Is it drinking alcohol while losing weight is bad?
Yes I admit I was a heavy drinker before binging in 6-8 bottle of strong beers that I discovered every bottle contains 240 cals, now that I decided to lose a weight I shift from strong to light beers that is only containing 120 cals per bottle. I could chug 3 bottles some weekends and that is 360 cals and I do fitting it…

Asking for a friend

Then 2 before lunch, 2 after, then anything I drink at dinner and home. Anyway I am peeing nonstop. So can I count walking to the bathroom as exercise???…

Pretty sad during my weight loss journey (advice would be helpful)
Hey all-I could really use some advice and I apologize in advance for the length. Since late August of 2018, I've been on a weight loss/maintenance journey that began after I realized I'd put on about 100 pounds since high school-though I'd tried at various points to shed some weight here and there in the years since, it…

Cooking Light Diet Recipe Discrepancies
I've been using the Cooking Light Diet meal plan for the last couple of weeks and have noticed some wide variability in the recipe's nutrition information versus MFP calculated nutrition information. For example, I just made their "Tuna-Quinoa Toss" recipe which indicates 374 cal, 35g Carb, 27g Protein, and 14g Fat.…

Should I be happy or skeptical?
I weigh myself every day immediately after I wake up after I go to the bathroom, am totally naked, and put the scale in the exact same place, centered on a tile, and I literally step on it in exactly the same way every day. I track in Happy Scale. I am in my goal range and have been trying to increase my calories every day…

Apple Watch and My Fitness Pal

In a rut and getting bored
Hi everyone!!! I need a bit of guidance... I have been at goal for years and was happy there. What I noticed after a "cheat meal"
My daughter wanted Burger King today, so away we went. I eat fairly clean. Not much red meat. Mostly chicken, fish, and ground turkey. Vegetables and fruits and only water. I cut out pop completely. I know you can make healthy choices at FF places but I went all in. I ate a chicken bacon and cheese sandwich with onion…

Do you think our bodies have an 'ideal' weight?
Hello. 😊 I'm a longtime MFP user and lurker, and have spent a lot of time learning from the posts in these forums. I started logging back in 2016, after I left an active job and 'suddenly' found I had gone from 10 stone to 12. I was wary of starting calorie counting due to eating disorders in my teens and early twenties,…

weight fluctuations - can't make sense of them
I started a weight loss programme only last week, so I know there's no chance of a trend yet. But I thought my scales were broken as my weight fluctuated by about 10lbs (mainly apparently gaining during the week, when I was definitely eating far far less than normal. So I bought new scales and weighed myself. Since…

This might be a dumb question but just to clarify
If I consume 500 calories less and when I workout let's say I burn 200-300 calories. Does that make me 700-800 calories deficient? There for if I do that every day it equals out to be 5600 calories deficient for the whole week? So about 1.5 pound loss?

Not feeling too well today...
I do not want to miss a day of logging my food non-existent exercise today. Just not feeling up to par. I still should list what I eat though, right? I am certain I will not get in my steps or calories in today. Is there a place to account for the flu anywhere on my dashboard? Thanks in advance....
