Need help from the cooks out there
I am making the below dish for thanksgiving. I am contemplating making it the night before, except for the breadcrumb topping under the broiler which I would do day of. I am terrible at judging what can be made ahead of time and what needs to be made and served right away. Another question: it basically is cooked, broiled,…

Exercise calories way off
Hi all, I am travelling this week for work and I’m not logging food on fitness pal. I know, I know! Anyway, I am eating healthily though and exercising daily. That said, my calories burned from exercise on my fitness pal is insane though. It must be incorrect, I’m just confused as to why it’s way off? For example, it’s…

We Only Look Thin Podcast
Just wanted to thank whoever on these message boards recommended the "We Only Look Thin" podcast. Although I find them a little annoying (the husband especially), it's a great podcast and I am really enjoying it and relate to so much of what they say. Just listened to their holiday episodes and actually found it really…

Working out when sick
I woke up with a head cold, and really want to go to Pilates. I have been traveling so I haven't been to class in 4 days. We always wipe down everything we touch with anti-bacterial so I'm not so worried about infecting others, but wonder if it will slow down my recovery. I'm hosting 6 people for Thanksgiving. Would you go?

Are fitbits worth it?
Today was my first time ever looking into it I might get one for myself but I’m very skeptical. It can count the amount of steps you’re taking how? By the way you swing your arms?🤔 How accurate are those things? Do they help you? How? What do you like about them? How have the benefited you?

Very confused--does going from a sedentary to active life style translate to leaner body over time?
Hi, I've been reading some wikis from the reddit fitness here: https://thefitness.wiki/faq/can-i-lose-fat-and-build-muscle-at-the-same-time/. Apparently it is unlikely to both gain muscle and lose fat in the same period of time. However, if I go from a relatively sedentary life style (desk job 9-5) and begin hitting the…

Should I be eating my calories back?
I’m eating about 1450 calories a day right now in my defict. My fitbit says after my workout I burned around 300 calories. Should I be eating this back since that would make my total intake 1150? Or will this slow down my process? Thank you!!

Question on losing 2 lbs/wk please?
Something doesn't sound correct to me. I understand that IF I want to lose 2 lbs/wk, I have to take in 7000 calories LESS/wk meaning 1000 less/day. If I'm NOT to eat less than 1200 cals/day, how can I just eat 1000 calories/day to lose that 2 lbs/wk? I presently weigh 158.5 lbs...I would like to lose 20 lbs and am active…

Another activity level question...highly variable
I was showing MFP to my husband (he’s thinking of using it) but we were both a little stumped when it came to choosing his activity level. Here’s the situation... He’s a professional Firefighter. His weekly work schedule looks like this (X being a work day (24 hour shift) and 0 being a day off): X0X0X000 On the days he’s…

Sedentary vs Lightly Active

Having a hard time with weight loss
So when I started my weight loss journey at the beginning of this year, I weighed in at 235lbs. By May, I was down to 195lbs (goal is 175lbs, my BMI optimal range is between 145-170) with only 20 more to go, I was pumped. But I recently switched jobs. I was a welder for a steel construction company and during that time I…

Anyone do Keto to lose 10-15 and then got off?
I've did Keto with my wife to help her out. I surprisingly dropped 18 pounds in a month from 217 to 199 doing Keto. Has anyone did this and slowly introduced carbs and more working out and has any success doing this? I wonder if this is a good thing or not.
