Losing Too Fast?
I've been on keto since the end of December last year. I have typically been losing around 3-6 lbs. a month, which I've been happy with since I've read that slow, steady weight loss is the most sustainable. In tracking my progress I find that, once a month on my period I gain up to 10 lbs. water weight, and then drop down…

Are morning workouts more effective?

Starting c25k...again :) updates as I go.
A little backstory on me. I am 34, a mom of 3 (youngest is 2) and have been married almost 14 years. I am currently 203.4 lbs at 5'6" and have anxiety about being social. I don't post a whole lot so this is an experiment for me. I have a 3.1 mile trek around my house that I am going to be using, and although I know that I…

Macros
Hi all! So I've had success in using the macros part of the app. It's helped me lose 35lbs and maintain as well. However, I noticed that I'm having trouble now losing the last 10lbs and also want to lose the annoying spots like the stomach while building lean muscle. They say abs are made in the kitchen, and I was thinking…

Can Eating too Little Make the Scale Go Up?
I know starvation mode isn't a thing, I'm not asking that. What I wanna know is if its possible that eating less means I'm holding on to more water or something else that would cause a bigger scale number? I cut my calories a bit more (1500 to 1350 ish) in advance of Christmas and because of a plateau but the only drop…

RMR
I just went and had my testing metabolic rate tested and it is low as I knew it was but now I have a question. Can I go in and set my calories manually or do I just need to do the math daily? Also, as an aside, it is highly frustrating to look at the amount of calories I’ll need to eat. Ugh

Medical recovery question
I am having a Varithena ablation done tomorrow. Has anyone here had that done? The post instructions say that I can return to normal activity immediately following the procedures, there are no restrictions aside from avoiding heavy exercise. The problem is no one can really tell me what that is. I work out with a trainer 3…

What's one habit/ritual/hack that you practice daily to optimize your life?
Personally I have an alarm on my phone set for every hour and when it goes off I take a minute to pause, breathe in deeply and reflect on the past hour and plan for the hour ahead. Also, when something *stressful* happens (i.e. I spill the coffee grounds all over the counter when making coffee :| ), instead of reacting I…

12 weeks pregnant
Hi Everyone Well I've been taking a bit of a break from my weight loss journey as I'm pregnant with my first and going on to maintenance whilst the baby develops. (and I've been terrible at logging since I found out but intend to rectify that) I'm going to try to stay on here and log to try and maintain a healthy(ish) diet…

Not lost anything
I’ve been trying so hard to lose weight and get fit. I’ve logged all my calories on MFP and I’ve been going to the gym 3 or 4 times a week. The first week I lost 6lbs but this week I haven’t lost even a pound. Can someone tell me what I’m doing wrong?

How should I increase my caloric intake after being in a deficit for so long?
I think I’ve had ask a similar question on here before but here I go again. I’ve now been on the ketogenic diet for 6 months now and as a result I’ve lost about 100 pounds. I’m down from 260 pounds since April of this year and I’m currently sitting at about 168 pounds after an overnight intermittent fast in the morning…

Calorie Restricted Eating & Without Malnutrition -- How do you do it?
Hello! There is a lot of talk on the internet about the lifespan and health benefits of restricting calories 25% below normal while maintaining high nutrition. David Sinclair, Jason Fung, Peter Attia, among others. These are high calibre doctors and scientists. But the question remains, how can this be done best? Has…

NEAT strategies at work
I am predominantly at my desk during the hours of 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. I get up multiple times during the day, of course, but I am trying to think of ways to increase NEAT while I'm here. There are moments throughout the day that I often have some "down time" and I feel the urge to do some activity. I used to take about a…

foods you cant quit eating
Are there any foods you can't quit eating. It is embarassing for me to say I have bought cinnamon buns 3 times and still want them. I guess it is what you call a trigger food. Should I just eat it until I am sick of it or leave it alone? You cant even buy the single ones around here, they are in a six pack, I have put them…

Wanting to lose more weight but don't want loose skin...
I have lost 65 lbs. so far, from 200 lbs. to 135 lbs., over the course of a year and a half. I am 26 and 5'7.5''. I still have extra fat in my belly and lower back that I am trying to lose, maybe down to 125 or so (my frame is very small), however I feel I have stretchy skin that I don't want to worsen. The extra skin is…

Sneaky strategies
I'm currently feeling a little bit proud of myself for coming up with a cunning workaround for an issue I've been having. My office serves free cake in the cafe every Wednesday afternoon; and every Wednesday afternoon I finish the helping of cake that fits into my calories, want more, and go down and hoover up any…

Tracking of Weekly Weight and Calories Tips?
So, I am trying to track my Monday moving averages, the differences in my weight from week to week, along with my weekly net calorie and/or total calorie intake so I can try to better pinpoint my maintenance calories and how my calorie intake impacts my weight. Do any data-minded people have any advice or does anyone care…

Favorite Wi-Fi smart scale
My Aria 1 just died and I contacted Fitbit support for help. It is old, and I wasn't expecting a warranty - just troubleshooting. Anyway, along the way, she told me there WAS a warranty, but I would have to mail my scale to some company in Indiana (not Fitbit), but they couldn't tell me what they could offer until they got…

Rewarding yourself
How do you reward yourself as you make your progress? Or do you? Is it with food, clothes, activities? Let's face it; we deserve a reward!! This is awfully daMn hard work! I haven't really done a lot of that but tend to think of using indulgent food as a reward but am so afraid of it backfiring. If I treat myself to a…
