Weight gain
I'm looking to try and bulk up. Any suggestions on what supplement I should take? Muscle milk? Creatine? I don't want to get big...just gain 15 pounds or so. I don't have much of an appetite...which is why I'm turning towards supplements

At what body fat percentage would gynecomastia stop looking dumb? Wanna get rid of these moobs.
So, I have lost about 70 pounds this year. I've done this through calorie restriction of course, but also close monitoring of protein, cardio, and fairly frequent weight training. As such, I've actually put on a fair bit of muscle in the process. Unfortunately, my number 3 reason to lose weight, behind being better for me…

Is this weird?
Last night I made scallops on pasta with a light cream sauce and peas. It was delish, and I only ate about half of it. It's 9am here and I'm craving it for breakfast. Is that weird to eat something like this for breakfast? Does anyone else eat non traditional food for breakfast? When I was in Thailand I ate soup every…

Does constipation prevent you from losing?
I “go” just small amount every day. I weigh 221 and I’ve ate 1200 calories the last week and I’ve gained .5lbs, I’m assuming it’s because I need to go to the bathroom :(

Do you need to squeeze glutes at the top of deadlifts and squats?
So I’m new to the gym. My goal is to lose 20 pounds. Lots of videos on YouTube were saying to squeeze your glutes at the top of deadlifts and squats but some forums and articles were saying not to. I videod myself doing the sumo deadlift and I realised I’m hinging my hips too forward and making a big motion squeezing my…

Struggling with Sugar
So up until last year at this time I was able to avoid sugar at ease. I had lost about 160 lbs. I was at my smallest, albeit I was too small (5'9 140 lbs male). I had put on weight and was happy at around 155 lbs but have since put on about 15 extra pounds because I can't stop eating sugary desserts. I constantly crave…

Calorie advice please
Hi, I am looking for some advice regarding daily calorie allowance to enable me to loose weight. I am 5ft5 and currently 172 lbs. I work out 3 x a week for around 25/30 minutes. I’m a mum of a 3 year old and 6 month old twins (excercise in itself) Would 1700 calories a day be enough or too much? Thanks

Questions for treadmill walkers
I aim for 4 miles a day, 4 mph. But I've found if I do it in 2 shorter times than 1 long walk, I'm more apt to do the whole 4 miles. Does it matter much if you do walking like that, cut into shorter times or should I keep aiming for the 1 longer walk a day? Other questions....do you play much with the speed or incline?…

When is too much salt...too much
I noticed that my "recommended" daily allowances have what I consider a large amount of salt everyday (2,300) Im not a "salt" person. And it is one area I am never over nor even close to get the so called recommended amounts. Is it a bad thing? But I am always over on fats and of course sugar.

SonoBello
Just saw this annoying commercial and had to see if I'm not the only one driven crazy by it! They're advertising spot reduction fat removal. A woman comes out teary-eyed and looks at a picture of the new her. The old picture so obviously shows her obese then after she lost a bunch of weight. There's no way fat was just…

Vegan Protein
Quick background: used to use whey iso proteins but my lactose intolerance caught up to me; as well as still being relatively new to using supplements. I switched to vegan proteins and just out of curiosity because Google hasn't been much help. Should I take the vegan protein before or after my workouts for better results?

Really struggling with portion control
I am not giving up carbs, fasting or doing any other trendy diet. I’m simply just trying to eat like a “normal” person. Eat everything but stay within my calorie range. It blows my mind how small actual serving sizes are! I feel like I’m not satisfied unless I have more than 1 serving of everything. Any words of wisdom?

Calorie cycling
Well I went off the rails for a couple of days then jumped back to watch my calories. When I went for my end of the week weigh in I was ready to face the music. I could not believe what I saw! I am down! And more than usual! Is there a real science behind the idea of calorie cycling? Does anyone else practice this? There…

Insulin sensitivity?
Without eating anything, exercise first thing on an empty stomach: according to https://physiology.org/doi/full/10.1152/ajpendo.00163.2018 I posted this in 'food' but it seems a better fit here. I have never done this. I struggle to get up and exercise, it is easier for me in the afternoon. I may try it as I get closer to…

Food Recalls
I was reading an article online about a recall on chicken realized it wasn’t my brand. Then I saw a link to a recall on frozen berries that was my brand. I became curious so I did a quick google search and found this site: https://www.foodsafety.gov/recalls-and-outbreaks I found there have already been 13 recalls in…

Gaining Weight for No Reason
This summer, I decided I was going to get serious about losing weight. I’d been kind of toying with it for a while. I started losing extremely slowly (not even sure why it was so slow - I was eating ~1100-1500 calories) and eventually reached a low weight of 101.8 (my highest was 112). That was about a month ago. Ever…

Should people on Low calorie diet exercise?
If I am on a low calorie diet (1200), should I be exercising? How do I know whether exercising will help me prevent muscles loss, or will exercising cause my existing muscles to be used for energy burn (thus decreasing my BMR)? -- Confused

I’m a man that almost broke down crying in Walmart trying to find a shirt :-(
This is so embarrassing but I’m in a bad place right now. I’ve been depressed and feeling like a useless waste of space for the past year and I’ve just done the same routine. Gone to work, come home. Had a few days off where I do nothing and make excuses to my wife about why we never go anywhere. Then pretend to be happy…

Oral allergy syndrome?
I feel like I'm the only person with this issue and nobody really knows what to do about it, myself included! Hoping I can find someone who gets it and can offer some advice or tips. I figured out I had this many years ago when I realized that a LOT of raw fruits/veggies/nuts make my mouth really itchy and my throat…

50 and older

Psyllium Fiber
So thinking of starting to take Psyllium Fiber daily. My weight loss is part of a general health improvement plan. My good cholesterol is very high, but bad cholesterol also a bit high. I'm a "regular guy" and don't really support there. So I'm just thinking about this as an additional step for cholesterol and general…

Why does my stomach feel so empty on lower carbs?
Hello All, I've been eating lower carb (not Keto) and I've lost 12 pounds! Yay! But now that I've been doing this for a while, my body has pretty much gone to its "lean" mode. I don't get hungry too much and my stomach always has a slightly empty feeling. I'm not sure how to feel full and sated while eating lower carbs.…
