Sedentary vs Lightly Active
Hi, So, curious if I’m considered Sedentary or slightly Active. I have a desk job but I work out a few times a week. Are these activities levels based off of exercises? Or more just my base level of activity without purposeful exercise.

Beach body on demand
Hi, does anyone use this? Is it worth paying for? I only have time for at home workouts but I'm pretty fit and usually go for kettle bell you tube videos or fitness blender hiit workouts. I would like to intensify my workouts but prefer weights to too much cardio.

Help with Planning workouts at the gym
Any suggestions on gym apps for planning your workouts? I am doing a Bike Marathon Seattle to Portland in July. I have been cycling and doing cycle class but am looking for a way to keep motivated. I loved when my workouts are planned for me.

Calorie counting versus sw or ww
Sorry this has probably been done to death. I've been pi&&ing around at slimming world as my sis and mum think it's marvelous. I have tried with mixed efforts and with mixed enthusiasm. About three months losing and putting on the same few pounds over and over. The way I've lost weight in the past has been calorie…

Interactions on Fitbit App
Hey Fitbit folks, I won a Versa 2 Special Edition and since I've always been a loyal Garmin user for years (on my second Vivoactive--I wear the 3 now), though curious about Fitbit, I decided to give it a go and compare the two (more on that later). There are some differences in interactions on the app between the two. Most…

Do you add exercise cals to online tdee number?
Sorry, this may be a silly question but I just wanna know this. Do you add back the exercise cals for the tdee you get from online? For example iifym tdee calculator takes into account your weight training and cardio and based on that they give you how much to eat to lose weight. Let’s say they give you 1550 cals after…

Calories allowed per day?
Hey there! I have been using MFP for about 2 months now after my 2 roommates told me about it. I have had a lot of success but I have a question. I am considerably heavier than my 2 roommates. One is 150 lbs and the other is 200 lbs and obviously based on how vigorous we each want to lose weight and specifications of our…

How many # until your goal?
From right now, how many # are you away from the weight you want to be? I'd like to lose another 5 before I even think about maintenance. But I've spent my whole life needing to lose lots more, anywhere from 20-100. My mindset tells me I'll always be overweight although I'm not. Maybe that's a good protective tool for…

Healthy Weightloss
I have read a large number of various threads in different categories around weightloss methods, being impatient with progress, wanting to lose X number of lbs in a ridiculous time frame and wanting to know how much weight people have lost in X periods of time. I'm that person too. The impatient one who needs to see almost…

Cortisol and Water Retention
I've read here how excessive exercise can increase cortisol and cause fluid retention that masks weight loss. Assuming someone is in a deficit, and the extra exercise increases that deficit, how is that possible? I look leaner. My dietitian put me on a 250 to 300 calorie deficit for half pound a week loss. But I've been…

How do you handle bad days?
I was on track all day exercise and on track with my calories but gave in at the end of the day to some pizza (went over calories) and made me feel really guilty. What tips do you guys have to not feel guilty just because you ate something?

Pre and Post Workout Snack
My pre is usually a banana and a handful of mixed nuts. Depending on the time of day, I also have a cup of black coffee or green tea. My post is usually a pb&j on wheat toast or a fage plain yogurt with granola/fruit. What's yours?

Body Recomp Question
I’ve made another post on this a few weeks ago, but now that I’m getting closer to my transition weight and have a better idea of how I want my transition to look like? I’m still a little anxious about how to do this successfully without undoing all of my hard work. I currently do 4 days of weight training, to which…

Watch Those Meds When You Lose Weight
I lost over 100 lbs originally. I'm up about 13 pounds currently but I encountered some strange issues in the last year. About 6 months ago my blood pressure skyrocketed. I had gone off my meds 2 years ago when I reached goal weight per instructions from my doctor. So he put me back on. I was really struggling, hungry,…

Question about kids health?
Hey all, I didn't really know where to put this, so if it's not appropriate here, just let me know. I need some advice about my daughter, she is 8 yrs old and is overweight. I know a lot of her eating habits are because of me and her daddy, regarding her desire and craving for junk food, and we are working on changing…

New Strategy
For the past couple of weeks I have been tracking everything I eat logging all my exercise and doing what I feel is everything right with no results. I don’t really know why this is soooo.... For the next week I am going to just simply eat sensibly, do workouts without logging them and throw caution to the wind and see…

Counting macros vs. calorie counting
My husband and I decided to “diet and get fit”. I’m going the more relaxed mode of just counting calories and eating fruits and “healthy snacks” like portioned out nuts and fruit chews etc.... however my husband is going the rigid route of macro counting. Does anyone see my route as “bad”?! I’m torn between the two.…

Intermittent Fasting (16:8) for Weightloss?
Has anybody here tried to do the 16:8 Intermittent Fasting with successful results? I just can't seem to commit to anything these days like I have in the past and to me it seems like I could possibly do this since I tend not to eat an actual meal in the mornings and just snack on stuff. I feel like it would give me a cut…

Fitbit Question
I lift weights for 70 minutes which I log as 340 calories (per multiple google searches and this seemed close enough for me). In between sets I walk for a minute then do my next set, so I am pretty constant the whole time. I did a 22 minute walk after my workout. Fitbit gave me 65 minutes walking for 492 calories. So this…

Meal Plan 1.75
I'm curious if anyone has used this plan and had decent results? I'm looking to drop about 20 lbs and I was told, following this plan and doing light workouts, 3 times a week would do the trick. I've got some physical limitations, due to a car accident (no impact workouts). This just seems like a lot of food at each…

Best fitness bands - November 2019
My Garmin Vivosmart HR band broke, so instead of replacing it, I thought I'd buy an Apple Watch Series 5, especially since I'm an iPhone user. Plus the Garmin is hard for me to read without reading glasses. After researching for a few days, identifying the one I want, and adding it to cart, I felt like it was a bit foolish…

How Does Fasting Work?
Let's say you exceed your calories by 900 cals one day, and the next day you fast really hard in order to cover them and still have "spare" calories to fill (about 500). If you overeat again the next day (by 200 cals over your calories limit) will you have to fast again or by burning off that much calories the previous day…

No refined sugars life
Can't be the only one here who has replaced white, refined sugar with sweeteners, but how healthy are they? They're supposed to have "zero calories" (or too little to be significant), but does this make them ok to consume on a daily basis? I've been living this way for a year now and the only visible downside until now is…

Ketogenic Benefits
I have been on the Keto diet a few times. Unfortunately, my emotional and life situations have caused me to stop wanting to be healthy. Why do I want results fast?
I’m 2 weeks into losing weight. My goal is to be “toned”. I currently weigh 61kg. My goal weight is 52-55kg. I’ve been lifting 4 times a week. I feel stronger. The thing is I don’t have patience. I want the physical results to come fast. I want abs overnight and my back fat gone. I know I’m being silly but I can’t help it.…

MyFitnessPal Not counting calories correctly
MyFitnessPal is great EXCEPT for the fact that I've actually been eating more calories than I'm supposed to BECAUSE they count calories wrong. For every gram of protein and carb, is 4 calories, and 9 calories for fat. They count calories by label, not by macros. They need to change this. To prove, at the end of you day,…
