Fat Loss Timelines
Do you find that having a timeline/time-based goals/deadline helps or hurts your rate of progress? I know for my initial goal I wanted to weigh 135 lbs. by November 29, 2018. I was 153 by that time, and didn't reach 135 lbs. until May 2019 which I still am today. Now I am wanting to be 125 by Summer 2020, but that is…

Setting your own calories
Hi guys how do I set my own calories? I want to set mine at 1300 - right now it's at 1200 which is too low according to TDEE. net. When I try to adjust my goals on MFP I end up with 1450 Cal a day which is too much. Any suggestions?

Macros
Hey guys So I know you have to pay attention to the macros mainly protein, carbs and fat. Now underneath my nutrition it’s given me a figure of 225 carbs Does it matter if you go over that? As some times you end up with like 300 calories left but you have eaten mainly carbs all day (or maybe it’s just me) 🤣🤣 Am I supposed…

Blood Ketone Monitoring Devices
I’d be interested to hear from people who use the Blood Ketone Monitoring Devices as to which brands they recommend: I’ve been doing Keto for over a year, down about 25 lbs, but plateau’d for some time ( I DO cheat sometimes, but not with ‘blow-out” pasta or pizza meals)...and am wondering whether I am indeed staying in…

Any ladies 5'6 trying to reach ~ 115lbs mark?
Hi all, just joined up. Trying to get that smoking body I've always dreamed about. I'm 5'6 and currently 122lbs. Want to drop to 115lbs, be toned not ripped and do it 'healthily' (no starvation or silly eating plans). Wondered if there were any other ladies out there on the same road or with any tips for me? Would really…

How to determine activity level?
I feel as if it is giving me too little calories each day, and I feel like part of that might be due to not understanding the fitness level. I work about 20 HRs a week (like, 4 5HR days) as a cashier/waitress, and a good amount is moving around. Wiping down tables, taking out the trash, picking up heavy buckets/stacks of…

how to track les mills classes
Hi everyone! I'm going to Bodypump, bodybalance and body attack classes at my gym, but I don't know how to track that effort. I'm doing deficit diet and myfitnesspal recommends me to eat 1200 calories, however I read in some discussions that it may be a bit low if I'm going to the gym. So, my doubt is how I track the…

I am a little frustrated with my diet habits. I know that I do not eat super well at all, but how is it that I gain so much weight throughout just one day? I gained over a pound between yesterday morning and this morning and I am truly baffled. What foods would you recommend for reducing bloat and weight gain? Diet has…

Cutting Back on Weight Training
I've been doing a weight lifting program for about 6 months where I lift 3-4 days a week. 6 months ago I weighed 168.8lbs. Today I weighed and I'm up to 180.4lbs. I can tell that I have more muscle on my body, as my shoulders, arms, and back are looking a more defined, but seeing the scale go up that much is a little…

TDEE
Anyone want to help me determine a rough estimate of my TDEE? I have used TDEE calculators to get a general idea of where my TDEE falls and it seems to be somewhere between 2100-2300 based on whether I am moderately active or very active, though some have suggested to me that it could be even higher (while others say it…

What is my weekly rec sport doing to my routine?
I'm following a pretty traditional bulk/cut routine. I do more calories, higher weights, lower reps for a couple months, then switch to low calories, low weight, high reps for a couple months, then switch back. However, I also play water polo with a club team for an hour and a half every week on a non-gym day. I imagine it…

Need help with food
Hi, I'm stuck and having trouble losing weight. I lost 50 lbs in 2018 after pregnancy, got to 183 and plateaued. Then this past summer I started taking Zoloft and now I weigh 189. I recently switched to Wellbutrin. I haven't been good about staying within my calories for the day. I just re-did the MFP goal and it's…

Body and brain exhausted?
Day 43, I think my brain shut off. I've been dizzy/sleepy around 7/8 PM recently, but pushed myself to stay awake to a reasonable bedtime. Usually wake up at 6am to do a workout. Yesterday, I fell asleep around 8 pm, fully clothed and didn't wake up until 6am with a mild anxiety attack. Didn't do my workout, only browsed…

Is this what sodium does?
I should know all these answers after losing 72-73 pounds but sodium is a strange one. On Friday I was happy to see 200.2 on the scale. Saturday is a bit of a cheat day for me, not a go bananas day but just let off the gas a bit. I was WAY over on sodium. On Monday I was 203.6. That is all normal and what sodium does…

Does myfitnesspal factor gender in "calories burned" from exercise?
Do the calorie estimates for exercise on myfitnesspal factor in gender? Or are they based on the [male] estimates from the past (and therefore wrong for all women using the app)? I know that treadmills use data based on a 150lb man, so they are always an over-estimate for women. I am wondering if myfitnesspal has corrected…

Cholesterol Numbers Aren't Budging!
Got a call from my doctor's office today with my lab results from last week, as follows: 221 total cholesterol, 146 LDL ("bad"), 64 HDL ("good"). I'm surprised and disappointed that my numbers have not improved more over this past year. Last year's lab work was: 215 total; 145 LDL, 56 HDL. The fish oil pills I take daily…

"Healthy" Unhealthy Foods/Snacks
I was wondering, what are some foods/snacks that you know about that are labeled as healthy but, in fact, are not good for you? For example rice cakes are known as a "weight loss snack" because they are low in calories but they don't provide any nutrients at all and you basically eat on nothing. Same for the 0% fat yogurt,…

Eat my calorie goal or shoot for a deficit?
I’m curious if I should be eating my calorie goal MFP gives me or if I should make sure I have a caloric deficit at the end of each day? Should my final balance be 0 calories left? Or deficit of a few hundred to lose weight.
