Not losing weight in a calorie deficit
I have been in a calorie deficit for the past 3 weeks or so, and with calories burned from exercise, have usually been below my daily calorie goal (1500 calories) leaving me with 3-4000 remaining calories at the end of the week. However, on rest day, I usually don’t burn many calories and end up eating more than 1500 as a…

Question about calories /reaching and maintaining goal weight
Hey there! I recently lost 20lbs and recently gained back about 5-6lbs over the holidays. I did it by eating in a calorie deficit and eating highly nutritious food so I wouldn’t be hungry. I’m 5’4 and was 129/ bordering on 130lbs. I’m 29. I got down to 110lbs which was my goal weight. The range for my height is 110-140lbs…

Making it happen -- for the first time in years.
Hi folks! Needed to share it out with someone. I've been logging calories for 5 days. I worked out today for the first time in probably 4 or 5 years. I bought myself some kettlebells, and a wrist device to help keep track of steps, heart rate, sleep, so on. It feels great to actually make it happen. I'm also making myself…

Where to get help
I need to lose weight but I find it difficult to control my food intake. Seven years ago when I turned 50 I dropped from 175 (which was my highest weight in my life) to 158 for a birthday holiday. Now I am 220 and need to lose weight for health reasons (and because I hate myself like this). I am finding it exceedingly…

Trulicity woes
I missed 4 weekly doses of Trulicity 3mg/0.5mL because it's on backorder. Finally, my Dr allowed the pharmacy to change it to 1.5mg/mL because that's all that was available, and availability is spotty for that, too. I was pre-diabetic when I started taking this Rx, and it brought my HbA1c within normal limits. I'm not just…

How accurate has Apple Watch been for you? Anybody test it?
I'm always curious how accurate the total daily calorie burn is. Mine says through my normal daily activities I burn around 2700ish a day. Has anybody that loves numbers tested this through out their weight loss journey? Looked at their calorie deficit, what the numbers say on their Apple Watch and matched them up to see…

The Mirena coil
One for the ladies! I am on month 2 of the Mirena coil and gaining weight. I know it to be water weight as I’ve religiously tracked all my calories and nothing has changed. If you have also experienced this (it is a listed side effect sadly), how long did it take to settle?

Suspicious Fitbit Adjustment?
Hi! I’m just getting started using my new Fitbit, and I’m wondering what other users experience with their calorie adjustments. I’m set at Lightly Active for my non-exercise life. I am logging between 5,000 and 10,000 steps a day and getting what seems like a hefty 120-250 calories for it. (I figured the first 5,000 steps…

Fast Weight loss
So based on this calculator. https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/how-many-calories-per-day#calculator To lose weight fast I'd have to eat 1,243 calories. Which is not alot of food. I could make it work but the thing is, how exactly fast am I getting?

Stayed the same this week
I’m going to drink more water this week. I’ve been casually tracking & now I need to start pushing myself a little. I think weighing daily helps me more. I’m going to increase my water & keep my cals at 1400. Roughly.

The stress of weight loss, not weight loss/gain from stress
I have noticed a trend in my own yo-yo dieting; when I start to lose weight my body rebels. Like I have a set point, and turning it down causes all these problems to show up. I am not doing anything crazy, eating healthy, lower fat, and more vegetables. The first time it was gall bladder; I understand that one; this time,…

How long to realistically lose this weight?
I’m 5ft 6.5, weigh 12 stone 10 and want to lose two stone. How long could it take for me to lose it without restricting myself too much and can still eat rice/pasta/potatoes one meal a day? Is there a calculator I can use which shows timelines? I’ve tried numerous restrictive diets such as Fast 800, cutting out carbs and I…

In a calorie deficit, scale isn't moving
Right after Christmas, I started lifting 5X a week (from 3X.) I have been in a 500+ calorie deficit or more every day for the last three weeks (I'm taking what my Apple Watch says I'm burning and taking 15% off of that for my burn) I weighed 348 lbs the day after Christmas. I weighed in today and the scale hasn't budged.…

Do you trust your hunger?
Similar to a lot of people on here, my weight has been up and down over the past few years. I have about 2 stone/30lbs to lose. I've stuck to my calorie limit religiously, weighing everything for the last 3 weeks with no change on the scales. I'm not losing faith, I know it'll come eventually. I'm planning another week and…

How to find "goal weight"
Not sure if this is a silly question, but how do people on their weight loss journey find what their goal weight is and/or how much they need to lose? I'm looking to lose weight, what I would think is a large amount (50+), but I'm not even sure how much I should lose or if I should even put a number on it because of my ED…

Calorie deficit for a shorty - help please!
I’m counting calories & set my goal to 1,200 per day in order to achieve weight loss. I’m 5 foot 0 inches (152cm) so I feel like 1,200 is a realistic goal for me, but have read that it’s dangerous to eat less than this. Because I’m “height challenged” (haha!) I’m hoping that this rule applies to women of average height,…

What about using Apple Watch "Move" calories?
The Apple Watch syncs Workout calories to MFP. And sometimes it syncs a small number of steps calories. But it doesn't automatically sync the "Move" calories from the Watch. That would be convenient, if possible, for two reasons: 1. Workouts drain the battery pretty quickly, making it hard sometimes to get through the day.…

Tips for type 2 diabetic trying to bodybuild
Hello all, I'm a type 2 diabetic in my 30's that wants to give bodybuilding a try. I've read that building muscle helps regulate blood glucose levels. I'm 6'4" and currently 346 pounds. I have done powerlifting some years back but stopped when I got into a car accident and hurt my knee. If there is anyone that has any tips…

Overeating
I’m the heaviest I’ve ever been. The weight just piled on and it’s all because of my unhealthy habits. I’m at 270 and climbing. I need a change. Idk how to cook well and I rely on fast food. I need to learn simple meals and exercise at least sometimes a week. But I’m failing. Anyways here’s the start of my journey. I plan…
