Maintaining goal weight
Hi, just wondered if anyone has any tips on how to eat well while maintaining rather than continuing to loose. I am finding it hard to eat enough calories now that this app has adjusted my intake since reaching my goal. Thanks in advance x

How do *you* determine when/if to change intake?
OK, so I've been trying to maintain for about a month now. I'm starting with a ± 4 pound range (≈1.75% of my body weight). In 36 days I've been slightly past the very top (sodium bomb of a meal), slightly past the very bottom (today), and just about everywhere in between. What's a realistic range for someone 220-225? How…

Weight gain post binge day
I've binged 3 times this week. I started binging at Monday, and I consumed more than 6000 kcal over maintenance. Two days later, my weight was back at normal there was no gain. I continued binging on Thursday, and ate 8000 calories over maintenance. The binging episodes continued, and yesterday I binged 7000 calories over.…

Will a fitness/activity tracker help with maintaining?
Hello! I've been in maintenance mode since late March/early April but I'm concerned that I'm still losing a bit of weight. I'm set to sedentary, do light exercise a few times a week (usually 15 minutes on the elliptical with some strength exercises or a 5km walk/run) and I don't eat back all my exercise calories. I'm…

Ankle surgery
I had ankle surgery last week and I am finding it really hard to stay within my 1200 calorie allotment. Prior to this, I was exercising 30-60 minutes daily and that calorie cushion was nice. I guess I am looking for words of encouragement and possibly stories of surgery and how to avoid weight gain. Thanks!!!!

How to avoid gaining it all back?
so I started at 125 and I am currently 113. My goal weight is 110 (mind you, I am only 5'3"). Once I reach my goal weight, hopefully in the next month or so, how do I avoid gaining the weight back? How should I adjust my calorie consumption to maintain that weight?

What happened here?
Background: I've been maintaining my weight at 114-115 for about 7 months. I have only been logging occasionally, when I know I've been eating over maintenance. I'm 5'4", small frame. I went on a food-centric vacation in May. I ate with glorious abandon and loved every gluttonous minute. I consistently weighed 117-118 for…

Weight Lifting Progress Question
Alright, so I've been on MFP since August 2011 and was all about reduce reduce reduce (calories) and workout real hard with any aerobic activity I saw fit. So, now I'm doing a complete turn and finally realized eating lower calorie to "maintain-ish" weight was only hurting me. I also had an epiphany a while back that…

Need discussion: should BMI "standard" for men be different from women?
So I measure myself as 167cm, 57kg, which means my BMI is around 20. The BMI seems perfect and "standard", but my family and all my friends say that I look too thin. They say I will be better if I gain 5-6kg. So I wonder if the "standard" and "the healthy range" should be slightly different for men from women? This was 6…

Did you get used to new weight and eventually feel fat again?
I have been maintaining a range of 129-132 for almost 2 months now. I have no intentions at all of going below 130, and just want to tone up more. When I first hit 130 I felt SKINNY. I felt like I was one hot momma to be honest. Problem is, 2 months at this weight and now mentally I feel just as big as I did 7 months ago…

pregnant and must not gain!!! (much)
Is it inevitable that I will gain weight, even if I try to maintain a caloric intake that should sustain my current weight? I am well overweight, and doc only wants me to gain 20lbs tops. I know that I don't really need more calories than when not pregnant, that eating for two is a myth, but any tips people have would be…

I am pregnant! Is there a pregnancy specific tool similar to MFP?
I've used MFP twice over the years to successfully lose weight...but recently learned I was pregnant. I reset my goals to maintain weight instead of lose (I achieved my goal weight several months ago), but I am wondering if there is a better app that is specific to pregnancy nutrition that anyone might recommend? Also, I…

Getting started again for what feels like the 20th time...anyone else like this?
In the past I've had many successful weight loss journeys. 7 years ago I was at my heaviest, weighing 224lbs at 5 foot 6. I ended up losing 61lbs through good old fashion diet/exercise and weighed 163lbs, which looked amazing on me! Technically 163 is still overweight for my height, but for my body makeup, 163 looked more…

Maintenance cals = slow weight loss. How much to increase by?
I lost 16lbs with my MFP-recommended cals for 1lb/week loss. I then switched onto maintenance at goal in May. I'm 5'7, 136lbs and on 1,710 cals per day. I ate back all exercise cals while losing and have continued to do so on maintenance. I'm slowly losing weight. I've lost 3lbs since May. I know 3lbs can just be daily…

Recomp: How to avoid or fix "Skinny Fat"

I was trying to get down to 12% or 10% before changing directions and…
