Do I have a problem?
I have lost a lot of weight since going to college (a little more than 60lbs). I started off just reducing portions but eventually went to counting. I lost about 10lbs past my goal on the switch to maintenance and now I'm at about 140lbs. Some people have called me too thin now but every time I look in the mirror I am…

Folks who have lost 50+ pounds
Hi, I am posting here because I need to talk to people who have reached their goal weight and have lost 50 or more pounds. I'm about halfway to my goal and find it's getting harder and harder to lose weight. Which is natural. So far I've been eating over 1200 calories a day (anywhere from 1300-1500, sometimes more which I…

(BG INFO: Recovering from eating disorder, 20 year old female, BMI 20) I'd been eating a weight gain amount for quite a while and I'm now planning on maintaining my weight. I do 30 minutes of cardio, 5 times a week. I was wondering how I should go about maintaining? Is there a number of calories I can go by? A website that…

Hello, I have been using MFP for over 2.5 years. I have had great success losing and then maintaining weight. Recently I have been struggling staying on track. It is weird for me because I have been doing very well for so long. I am looking for that "feeling great" attitude! I am in need for some new MFP friends that would…

Cheat meal/day ok once a week while reverse dieting?
I know cheat meals once a week are good for the cutting/dieting phase since it boosts your metabolism and all that. However, I'm SLOWLY increasing my calories about 30-60 a week to reach my maximum without gaining much fat and was wondering if having a splurge meal/day once a week (for my mentality) will kind of screw up…

Maintaining weight during holiday
Hi! Just need some advice! I have been on a healthy diet for the past 2 weeks and been going to the gym very regularly (6 times a week to be precise), attending classes such as Lower Body & Abs, Kickboxing, Spinning. In addition, I have been training 4 times a week with a personal trainer to incorporate weight lifting and…

How long for your body shape to stabilize?
Can any long-time maintainers comment on how long it took your bodies to stabilize, like for the skin to tighten up and things like that, after you lost your weight? The doctor said maybe a year or so, but it would be nice to hear from people who have actually been there and done that. I've lost 140 pounds and have lots of…

Cardio (Day or Night)
I have read a few articles; but have seen very few personal testimonials. Which works better: HIIT Cardio in Morning or Night, or does it not matter at all. Any personal experiences would be good

Maintenance while Weight Training
So I have been weight training since the very beginning of my weight loss. I got down to just under 140 (which I know may be slightly low for my 5'7 size and being male but I look and feel great). However, now that I am in maintenance I want to just pick up strength. I have ceased counting calories which helped me stop…

Whoops! Putting it all back on!
I lost 52 lbs brilliantly by eating sensibly and exercising but now I've put 24lbs back on. It was great to lose so much weight and I still feel pretty good but I've stopped exercising and started eating too much! I am just about to grow out of the lovely size 10 clothes that I bought after losing so much weight and I…

struggling
Hi, I've been on MFP for well over a year now, but I've never taken advantage of this side of it. In fact, I'm not even sure how to access the message board on my phone (is that even possible) and I almost never log on on the computer so I don't know when I'll have a chance to check responses. I've been struggling a lot…

Variable exercise making eating right harder. Do TDEE?
I just started trying to maintain my weight about 2 weeks ago. I got to my goal (105 lb, 5'1" small frame) after a couple weeks of slowly raising my calories. I've been attempting to maintain since then, but I'm finding the eating aspect of it weirdly challenging. Throughout my weight loss I've used MFP's way of adding…

Having a difficult time maintaining, so confused.
So, basic info - I've lost 250ish pounds. From 428 to 168-180 (The range is part of my problem). I went to a Hydrostatic weigh-in and found that I was at 9.9% body fat when I was at 180. Now I've been trying to figure out what I need to do to maintain my weight now that I've reached my goal, and I'm having a difficult time…

So, I'm currently stuck on what Activity Level to pick. I was going to pick sedentary, but I go to the gym 1 hour a day 4 days a week. 30 Minutes of Weight lifting and 30 Minutes of cardio. It's summer vacation so I mostly spend most of my time on the computer, or just relaxing in my room. Am I sedentary or lightly active?

Okay, so I'm trying to maintan for a over month and a half. Current W/H: 165cm/50kg, when I started maintance I was 48.5 kg. Which I know wasn't healthy for me. (Also my period stopped, now I'm trying to get it back) Since I'm on maintance my weight is bouncing like crazy! Yesterday I weighed myself and I was 51kg! Today…

Eating Out Every Day and It's Effects
Hello. So I've been maintaining really well lately (and by lately I mean over a year and a half) and I'm really enthused and overjoyed to say that I no longer fear restaurant foods! I had some unhealthy opinions on restaurant foods and my attitudes towards them were mainly overwhelming fear and anxiety. I'd opt out of…

This headline is shocking! It may be all we need to read.
I came across this article today with a radical concept for maintaining weight loss. What do you all think about it? Here is the url: http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/06/04/us-weight-maintenance-review-idUSKBN0EF1FA20140604

Anyone go by measuring tape & not the scale for maintenance?
Seeing the scale numbers fluctuate gives me way too much anxiety so I think from now on I'm going to measure myself once a week at the same exact spots and go by that. Does anyone else do this? That way I won't be able to see actual water weight on the scale.

Did you increase your calories during the last 10-15 pounds?
Hey all, I'm within 15 pounds of my goal weight, and I know some people intentionally slow their weight loss with more calories toward the end to make switching to maintenance less drastic. If you did that yourself, when in your weight loss did you start increasing your calories? If not, did you experience any small weight…

Protein vs. Vegetables
After a short vacation and days of overindulging, with constant eating in restaurants I always feel bloated and like I have gained weight. As a remedy I have always tried to detox for 3-5 days before getting back to my healthy dietary routine. During these detoxes of mine, I have always eaten only soups and salads with…
