1 goal reached already?!?!?!
When I started this, I was 140 and a size 9 in juniors jeans. I set my goal at 120 and a size 5. I'm at about 132 now, and last night I tried on a friend's jeans (size 5) just to see how close I am. THEY FIT!!!!!!! I was shocked. Absolutely stunned. The idea that I can even let myself DREAM about a size THREE is completely…

NSV and good feelings all around!
So today I dug through my closet and was sorting clothes to donate. While I was looking I decided to try on a pair of pants that I haven't worn since I was 21 years old. They are size 38 Levi Dockers which were "in" back then. I've had them in the closet since not long after I got back from a cruise in 1997. I wouldn't say…

How we view ourselves..
It is kind of crazy how we tend to view ourselves. Prior to starting MFP I had been extremely weary of scales. In fact I do not think I had weighed myself in well over a year. I do not own a scale at home so I had to estimate my starting weight when I signed up here. In my mind I was being generous at my guess of 240 lbs.…

I love my niece!!!!
So, Easter weekend we had a family get together like most. When I walked into my parents house one of my nieces hugged me and then said, "Aunt Jenny, you look like you've lost weight". That made me feel so good. But what made me feel even better is when my mom looks at her and says, "You won't believe how she's done it"…

NSV: the biggest muscle
 So I am celebrating my glutes today!! when I reached my goal weight back in march I was left with a flat butt!! I totally hated that my butt used to be my best asset in my early 20's and its in my genes, my mom is skinny wit big booty and my 2 sisters too. So I was freaking out, I now know that a lot of…

face is finally slimming down!
I don't have any recent full body shots, but here are some progress headshots. The one on the left was taken about 6 months ago, about 3 months before I started MFP. I weighed the same in that first photo as when I started MFP in early Feb. I've only lost about 10 lbs since, which I know makes me "behind". Which is why I…

Comparison Pictures... Got to love these to keep you going!
It's nice knowing I am even smaller than the good picture above. LOL

An NSV that struck home....
I was informed today, by my loving husband, that since tomorrow is our 8th wedding anniversary, and Sunday is Mother's Day, that I must go shopping for myself because, "I am tired of seeing you in clothes that make you look bigger than you are." I took the hint and went shopping. Since I have started my official journey, I…

Yay Me!!
Went shopping today because my jeans are getting too big just to see if I could get in the next size down. I DID!!! And they are loose enough that in no time I might be down another size. I am soooo excited. They were an 18. I haven't been in an 18 in 14 years.

Surprised Myself on Week 1
I've been using MFP for 1 week, and I lost 5 pounds already! What a great way to start!! :-) I'm just following the MFP guide and eating back half of my exercise calories. I'm waling 2 miles a day with my family (my kids are loving it!) after dinner and I've used my elliptical for 15 minutes at a time a few times as well.…

My first NSV
So today I am wearing a pair of petit pants size 18 from New York Company that I bought in October last year. When I bought them I bought two pairs in petit and two pairs in regular. I made the mistake of trying on the regular and just assuming the petit would fit due to them being the same size. Well I got home and ready…

May sound dumb...but I was excited about it...
I noticed today that I did not have to break my neck to see my tatoo on my lower back. I could turn sideways in the mirror and see some of it and turn just a little to see the whole thing. A small accomplishment, but a significant one to me:) I saw my little cherub staring back at me...Nice:bigsmile:

All smiles!!!
So I've had a few moments recently that have put a smile on my face... 1) I'm no longer in the obese category!!! 2) The last time I bought pants I was able to buy a 16 from the JR/Misses side of the store...but I'm now a 14! 3) I saw a former coworker the other day who had to do a double-take because she…

NSV - Down 1 pant size.
So, on Friday evening I went to Target and as I walked around I remembered I desperately needed some jeans. I get some size 18’s (from the regular size department NOT WOMENS  ) and they fit kind of lose. I was tempted to try on some 16’s but thought about it before I did because I didn’t want to be disappointed.…

My journey! Updated pics!
It's been almost 8 months now here with MFP, and I don't know what I would do without each and every single one of you. Everyday that I log in, and I have not missed 1 day, I learn something new. I started my path here as a desperate, defeated, tired, sunken woman. I had an extremely large umbilical hernia, and this was…

Changing my ticker to tell the truth!
I only started using MFP in March but actually started this healthy lifestyle in January. Been on this journey for 16 weeks now and I feel amazing compared to how I felt at the start. I was working out this morning how much I had actually lost so far. My ticker was only showing the 16lb I had lost while using this site (as…

Long-time Lurker's NSV's
I promised myself that I would only post here when I had something BIG that I had to share. Well, I've had three NSVs in the past two days that I'm proud of. First, at my Saturday morning weekly weigh in, I finally hit 199.6! That's the first time in 17+ years that I've seen a number starting with "1"! Then today, at the…

The Shred - 30 Days Later
It has to be said that I love to hate Jillian. I love to love her also. I am pushed beyond my limits and saw what I never thought I would see... results. I will continue using the Shred as a part of my everyday workout routine. I don't follow a special diet (I like my carbs WAAY too much). I just stay within my calories,…

Planning is key!!!
Last night was my girlfriend's Beer and Burger. I was incredibly anxious since it was my first time being out since I started eating really healthy and stopped drinking (mostly). I was afraid that once my body tasted alcohol again, my blood sugars would be so out of wack that I would be craving fries, or some other…

NSV- Crazy Legs
Over the weekend I finished my FIRST race (Crazy Legs)! This was an 8K race through downtown Madison, WI that supported the University of Wisconsin athletics. I had three goal for this race: 1. Finish in under an hour (Official race time 54:24) 2. Finish before my sister (beat her by 1:20) 3. NO WALKING (didn’t stop once!)…

Forced into Maintenance
On April 31, I had my first wedding dress fitting. At the time, I weighed 185.4 pounds. I convinced the seamstress to take in my dress a little more than she already had to so that I could lose a little more weight in the five weeks between fittings. She agreed, though she was obviously skeptical that I'd actually lose the…

Increasing Calories= Big success for me! :0)
Ok...so I have been doing the 1200 calorie thing for a while now. I got tired of it after failing to stay within calories. I would over eat at times b/c 1200 seemed unrealistic on days where I didn't get an hour of more of exercise in. I had lost 15 pounds this way.... I had been yo-yoing between 4 and 5 other pounds for 3…
