After 3 weeks of vacation, I didn't gain any weight!
Not only that, but I was down 1.6 lbs! I spent the past 3 weeks on vacation in Borneo, eating noodles for every meal (yup, even breakfast). I saw a photo of myself and thought I had really let myself go and was going to have to start all over again when I got back. My plane got in after midnight and the next morning I…

one small success at a time
I just wanted to share one of my small success. It is hard for me to keep going when I see so little change on the scale, I decided to check my measurements. Where I have only lost 6 pounds since I started, I have lost 14 inches. There is something exciting about looking at past measurements, anticipating the new results,…

little milestone
I’ve been walking 2 miles almost ever day and little by little I’ve been adding jogging to my walk. I’m still not able to jog the whole 2 miles, but today I was able to jog for a full mile without stopping! That may not be a big deal for a lot of people, but that’s huge for me considering that a few months ago I couldn’t…

First check-in!
Hi! I've been using the iphone app for this site since about the beginning of january. I ballooned up to about 184 over the holidays due to depression and, obviously because there was a lot of food everywhere! When I got back to school for the spring semester, I really got serious about my weight loss. I used my busy days…

My first progress post
As posted to my blog this AM.... Back around, I think, March 20, I signed up for an account on MyFitnessPal.com. While I had seen the scale hit 180 again a month or so prior, I weighed-in that day at 178. This morning, I finally broke out of 170s and saw 169 on the scale. What have I been doing? I've been using MFP…

I DID IT!! I did it! Hooray!
I reached my goal weight of 175!!!! As of this morning I weight 172! When I first signed up for this sight 175 seemed sooo out of reach considering I had two daughters back to back and was 250 lbs the day before I gave birth to my 2nd daughter on December 14th 2008. I don't come on here much b/c I am very busy with work…

1st Month Success
After losing 7 stone in 12 months using a similar site back in 2006/7 , over the past year I gained 1 1/2 stone back due to a stressful period in my life. Well, knowing 100% that food logging and increasing exercise does give weight loss results, I trawled the internet again and found this place, and as this site is free…

Revelation this weekend
We went tramping and climbing for a couple days recently, and of course walked into the hut and back with big packs full of gear. Naturally, it was much harder walking with a big heavy pack than it would've been if I hadn't carried anything. The crazy thing? I weighed that hefty pack on the scales when I got home and it…

122 days in, 38 lbs lost and feeling positive
So today is my 122 days of this diet and I felt like blogging my success to try and reassure myself as I have highs and lows. When I started out, the concept that I had to lose 76 lbs to be classed as "normal".....I won't lie, it was daunting, but I felt that enough was enough....I knew that in the next 12 months I was…

Time to go shopping again
It's getting hot here on the East Coast, so I opened up my shorts drawer this morning. All my shorts are too big!   Some are so big, I can't even cinch them with a belt. They went right into the bag for charity. Thank you, MFP!!

Even the small accomplishments feel HUGE
I ran my second 5k friday night, which is a great accomplishment for someone over 200lbs, but that isn't what has me doing a happy dance this morning. After running the 5k I was given some coupons for a sporting goods store here in town, so I thought "Why not go get some summer running gear" Living in Arizona shorts and…

My goodness this actually works!!!
Well I started MFP 15 weeks ago asking to lose 1.5lb a week. I though progress had been a bit slow so thought I wasn't going to maintain that loss each week, but as of today 15 weeks later I have lost 21 pounds which averages at 1.4lb a week so it really does work, I'm so proud of myself. I'm a hungry nursing mother so…
