One week!
Okay, this success story is not as big as the ones I've been reading, but it's kinda big to me: Today is the one week anniversary for being on MFP. Plus, I've started walking......started out 15 minutes and now I'm to 35 minutes! I swear that even tho it's only been a week I feel so much better! Thanks for all the…

Time to shop
I have been going through my closet and I hate all my clothes. My pants are too big and the ones that do fit are just old. My tops are not showing off my new shape, and are not very flattering. So today before I take my son to preschool, I am going to treat myself to a few new shirts, maybe a pair of pants and a cute bra…

Success on the track
I'm working so hard and trying not to plateau - I've heard those tend to hit when you've lost 10% of your weight, which is what I"m getting close to. Anyway, I have asthma and bad knees, and I have never been a runner - I never even took PE as a kid! Our gym is 18 laps = one mile. Until today, the most I have ever run was…

small victories
i am a SUCKER for dunkin donuts - there has NEVER been a time when i go there that i don't get a donut - i walk in there thinking i won't, knowing i shouldn't but i always end up doing it - and the donuts are SOOOO good and with the coffee - oh lord. so i went twice this week - once for the kids to get munchkins for school…

I am tossing them out
A pair of pants I couldn't fit into a few months ago by alot barely got over my thighs, and today they are to big and since they are the low cut type I can't stand constantly pulling them up even though they look great on my legs and waist. I am giddy like a mad scientist at this moment, what a difference just a few pounds…

2 small victories in one morning!
For WEEKS I have been saying I want to start getting up early and going to the gym and then I always hit snooze until it's time for work. Well yesterday, my coworker made a bet with me because she had been in the same situation as I. We made a bet that if I went and she didn't she owed me $5 bucks and vice versa. Well...…

What a difference 20lbs makes!
I started my weight loss fitness journey in January 2010 with MFP and training for a 5K using the C25K program. The first day I started the C25K program I was almost in tears ...LITERALLY, because I could not make it through the running intervals which consists of 60 seconds of jogging and 90 seconds of walking for a total…

Just really feeling good today!!
I woke up and found I am within a pound of the goal weight I set for 4-1-10. I am excited and proud, and there are quite a range of emotions going on today. I am 5 pounds away from what I weighed in high school- 9th grade to be exact. I always thought I was fat, and would stay fat. I always assumed I would be the butt of…

slowly but surely
I've been down about a pound a week since the first of January. Yesterday, I went shopping, hit the clearance rack, and was able to buy 2 "medium" items" instead of "large". I even had a 30% off coupon!

I finally added pictures!!
Between January 2009 and December 2009 i managed to shed 51 lbs. i still have another 51 to go, but just looking at these pictures has been an incredible mood booster for me today. the one of me wearing a white jacket is technically my "before" pic, while the others are "in progress" i hope to post my official "after" pic…

Did I just.... jog?
For me this is big... I was able to jog on the treadmill today for almost 10 minutes straight. This is the first day I was able to do it for more than 2 minutes without the pain of shin splints or my asthma acting up and slowing me down. The weird part is I could have gone longer if I had the time... I'm guessing it's…

This is HUGE!!!!
Since pregancy, I've been stubborn with holding on to a lot of the prepregnancy clothes I loved, hoping one day I would be able to wear them again....well, TODAY IS THAT DAY!!! I fit comfortably into a pair of pants I haven't been able to wear (although I've tried) in about 3 years! I can't even believe it...this feeling…

I started working out and dieting at the end of January and since starting I have lost 25 pounds (23 since starting MFP). Also a shirt that was skin tight on me is now loose. Plus ppl at work are starting to call me slim and skinny (lol I am the boss…

Attitude Change.... So proud!
Yesterday was such an accomplishment for me and I think that if I don't acknowledge it now, I won't repeat it. I had a pretty awful day food wise yesterday, I was just so hungry and couldn't stop eating. For the most part it was good food (minus the almond joy ) but it was just so much. I have a goal of 1200 calories a day…

I' so excited
Today is my 43rd birthday .... that's not what i'm excited about, although i'm sure it will be a lovely day  No, i'm excited because today i stepped on the scale and i weigh 210lbs or exactly 15 stone!!! One year progress
Started this journey one year ago today (pre-myfitnesspal!). I have lost 75 pounds (25% of my starting weight!) and 32 inches overall. I feel so much better, my outlook is better, I enjoy DOING things (especially GEOCACHING!!!) and I find I dress much better. I totally believe myfitnesspal is what keeps me on…

these boots were made for walkin'...
but, i couldn't wear them when i bought them about 2 years ago because they wouldn't zip up! i tried them on today, and they are actually lose on me! but here is the weird thing - i know i weighed at least 10 pounds lighter when i bought them, maybe even 15 or 20 pounds. so, even though i weigh more, my legs are slimmer.…

6-Month Weigh-in
I hired a trainer on 9/1 and have been following an exercise and nutrition plan since then. I've been following the plan pretty well, but did "get off track" here and there from November through January (holidays and a couple vacations). I also probably have a little too much fun "socializing" on weekends, which I'm aware…

My pants fit!!
I've lost 15 pounds since December when I began to eat better/work out, and the last week or two I've been wondering when I would start to see a difference in my body. Well, yesterday I was finally able to put on a pair of pants that I haven't been able to wear comfortably in over a year! I didn't even have to "suck it in"…

I hit my first short-term goal today.
This whole thing started back in December when we received a Wii for X-mas. My wife was excited about the fitness possibilities and as such, I bought her a Wii Fit and EA Sports Active shortly after the new year. I was interested in using it as well, so I looked to see what the weight limit was. I was disheartened to see…

Sports Illustrated Success Story
Sports Illustrated does a good job offering special deals if you subscribe to their magazine. Always offering a fleece, or jacket of your favorite team. For the longest time I ignored the temptation because I was pretty sure no matter their largest size it wouldn't fit. Well, back in January I got a letter in the mail…

Met my mini goal!
