I'm confident I'm gonna succeed now!
Hey everybody! Just taught i'd share my experience of the last few weeks with all of you! First of all, let me introduce my self, i'm a BIG eater!! It's not a joke, I used to go true a 40 pack of timbits while watching TV! (ok I'd let my mife have 5-6). I used to have 7-8 chocolate chips cookies for dessert, i used to eat…

Bought a scale and LIKED what I saw!
I hit my all time high weight at 185 sometime in decemeber. I was shocked. With the holidays I started working out, but not eating better. In January I was eating a little better but not counting calories. Last week I finally stepped up. I worked out 4 times, I was really good about my eating (except on superbowl sunday)…

Anyone One Else Hesitant?
As I get very close to my goal, I find myself wanting to add pounds to my weigh ins...just to be safe. Anyone else? I weigh weekly or bi-weekly more often, last time I logged in 147lbs. on 1/15/10. Today I hopped on, and weighed in at 144.4 lbs, 0.6 below my goal! But on MFP I only logged in 146, I guess b/c I want to…

Off the meds
Well I started the weight loss because I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes last september along with high cholestrol and high blood pressure. So I was put on Metformin for the diabetes, Crestor for the cholestrol, Benicar and Tekturna for blood pressure. Went to the doctor yesterday with 50 lbs of weight loss and all my…

I have broken my addiction..
For the last 13 years, I have drank Diet Mountain Dew like crazy. When I say like crazy, I mean 5 or 6 20 oz. bottles per day. It was as though I couldn't survive without it. When I would try to quit, the headaches would come, and I would start drinking recklessly again. At work, I couldn't function unless I had 2 20oz.…

8,000 cal. diet per day?!?! Give this a try......
I was amazed when I did this. Go to the Food tab, click over to the next day (you can always delete it) and type in everything that you used to eat everyday before you started dieting. I plugged in everything that I normally would eat and it showed me that I was consuming over 8,000 calories per day!!! Eggs benedict for…

Ok today my 13 year old daughter had a really bad day that ended in many tears for her. A different kind of success
So I was thinking, while I was on the elliptical at the gym tonight . . . A year ago, I was in so much pain that I couldn't think of anything else. I know I was making it day to day, but I don't rmember anything good sticking out. I had been in a car accident in August 2005 and have whiplash injuries to my neck, scar…

Just thought i'd share my story :)
Well I have been on MFP for about 2 weeks now and already find it a great help! I actually started my transformation back in April 2009, when I saw a really bad photo of me at a party! (The top left photo below!) I had gotten up to 370lbs (371 actually! ;) ) and felt terrible in myself, I was in XXXL clothes and even then…

when asked
this is both a success and a rant. seriously, does my hubby need to ask if i want jack in the box or taco bell if he picks it up? I said no, but WTF?!?!

Nothing is quite as humbling as....
...being a 31 year old obese woman huffing and puffing her way through week three of C25K ---- in the middle of a boys college baseball practice. Does humiliation burn calories? lol I do consider this a small victory for me because not too long ago I would have just turned around and walked out. But I stuck it out. Oh, and…

Too big?
I was getting dressed this morning and found a cute button down shirt that I bought when I got to WA. Thought to myself how I hadn't been able to wear it in the last few months. So I put it on and it was too big! I'm kind of shocked. I am back to the weight I was when I arrived out here, but have obviously lost more in…

I hit the 50 pound mark today. I have 16 pounds till my goal. I am sooooo happy, it seems like it has taken forever to lose this latest ten pounds. I'm losing my muffin tops!
I strive for the little goals--makes this whole process less daunting. The other day I put on a pair of jeans I haven't worn in close to 6 months (at least not comfortably).. and I didn't have my "normal" muffin tops popping over the edge of my jeans!!! Not only that, but I went down one notch on my belt! Only 9 pound lost…

1 year ago today
I started with MFP and boy am I ever glad that I did. At the time that I started I was at my heaviest weight ever and was in a spiral toward some severe medical problems. I had been told I had high blood pressure for the first time in my life and I was dealing with what I would call depression about my situation. I decided…

Small success...but still a success!!
So I started counting my calories on Saturday, and I started exercising too(not much but things that I can do around the house). I decided oh what the hell I'll weigh myself today, not expecting anything but possibly a gain. I LOST 3 lbs!! I know it doesn't seem like much but for me it really is. I have really started to…

Down 10# since 12/14 :)
I am so excited! 10# in a month is off the charts, and way beyond what I ever expected. I know that working out 4-5 times a week on the EA Active is making the difference! Also, I took my measurements on 1/8 and again today. I lost 1" around my waist and 3", that's right 3" off my hips. I'm so freaking motivated. I'm not…
