Treating the DEEPER issues first
So, I am really excited to actually be experiencing success with my weight loss for the first time in my life. I have lost 17 lbs since starting myfitnesspal and am STILL motivated to keep going. I recently realized that at some point I previously slipped into a mindset that it would be impossible for me to every be as…

I LOVE My fitness pal....
Seriously. It's amazing. I've lost 32 lbs and counting, and this had made it so easy! I still enjoy all the food I love, like ice cream and cheesecake, But I now understand that if i do have a treat, I need to account for it during my day. Really. I freaking love this site!!

4lbs down but more to go!
Hello all, I just wanted to say that I had lost weight before thru MFP but I;m back this year and so far, I have managed to lose 4lbs in 3-4 weeks. This is possible! I know its a slow process but if you keep fitness as your daily goal and eat smart, we can make this happen. I am also enjoying one-two cheat days in the week…

Smoke Free
As of two days ago I have been smoke free for one year. I quit cold turkey a year ago and I have to say I am very proud of myself. When I decided to quit I didn't tell a soul. It wasn't until 3 days in to it that my better half asked if I needed a pack of smokes. I told him that I didn't. He said that he noticed that I…

Reached Goal
I am so happy. I finally reached my goal. I feel so good that I am setting a new goal. This experience has helped me see food differently. I make more healthy choices. I feel my willpower has become stronger. I can go out to eat and control myself. I learned it's also about portion control and not straving yourself.…

Five weeks, 20 pounds, a happy doctor, and feeling better
I passed a milestone this week...I feel different. My weight has gone from 253 to 233 as of this morning. I don't know if I have more energy, but I feel...different. My pants fit better (I'm wearing a pair now that we just about too tight a month ago), but that's not it. I've reclaimed a notch on my belt and am getting…

I love the Wii Fit!
We got a Wii Fit a few weeks ago, and I am so glad we did. Now, our whole family is exercising and having fun with it. I never thought I would see my husband jogging or boxing! I also love the yoga on there, and how it gives you feedback. I have noticed my posture is better and I feel firmer. Our whole family likes to have…

so happy with my times!
I ran my first 5K last year (June) weighing in at 230-ish pounds (my heaviest was 273). My only goal was to run the whole thing, no stopping, no walking and I did that. My time was about 37:45. Less than one year later, I'm weighing in at 164 pounds and this week I have consistently run my practice 5K's in less than 30…

I'm going to party like it's 199
:) Yay! Back in the 100's...ok, sure it's 199.8, but that's good enough for me right now! I have been on and off MFP for about six months and have lost 29 pounds! I have had a few ups and downs, but these past few months have really helped me to understand my weight gain. I am starting to become aware of who I truly am and…

Good bye Butt! Hello Favorite jeans!!
Right before Christmas I couldn't fit into my current favorite jeans. I seriously could not get them to go over my *kitten*! I was a complete wreck!!! So, I've now officially been working out and watching what I eat since January 1st, 2010. Over the weekend I had the urge to wear said jeans with my new spiky boots. THEY…

Dug out my ''fat'' jeans
I was absolutely shocked when I found these jeans last night - I used to wear them ALL the time - they were my favorite pair of jeans, fit me PERFECT. Its shocking to me to see how big they are now...even depressing. (:ohwell: My gut looks a hot mess but, you can overlook that.)

a small smile...
A woman that I serve on 2 different committees with and see a few times a month plus when I bump into her at the grocery store or library in town stopped me and said - Ive been meaning to say to you, did you lose weight? I noticed that you looked thinner and really good at the meeting last week and didnt get a chance to…

For the first time in my life I ran 3 miles all at once! It was not even a year ago that I couldn't run a single mile without walking. It took me just over 37 minutes. At this rate I actually have a chance at making pretty good time at my first 5k in August! It is great to discover that this body of mine REALLY WORKS!

1/6 of the way there!
Ok so here's my story. Three years ago I had my beautiful daughter, gaining a ridiculous amount of weight during the pregnancy (65 lbs). Before I had her I weighed about 110 lbs, which on my small framed 5'4" was fine. After I lost weight from the pregnancy i got down to 140lbs. Over the last 2 years I've gained 15lbs…

ME - Before (scary!) and After (happy!) Pics
I find the best motivation for me to lose these last 10lbs-15lbs is to constantly remind myself of how far I have come. I swore off calorie counting for a while because I thought it was making me obsessed and miserable but now I have come to realize that it's the only thing that has worked for me in the past. So here I go,…

when I de-clutter, I don't eat
This is weird but cool. I've been on this de-cluttering thing lately. I've noticed I'm so focused on cleaning things out and getting rid of stuff that I don't seem to want to snack as much. I've actually had to remind myself to eat so I don't skip meals. Clearing the clutter gives me a similar high to the feeling I get…

One Year and almost there
Good Morning. I just did my weigh in and after 1 year of working with MFP I am only 0.6 pounds from my goal. I started this journey when I realized that I was creeping back up to what I weighed when I was 9 months pregnant and knew I needed to do something. It has been slow and steady, but that is how we win this race.…

I started using this website to track my caloric intake, water and exercise and it's great for those things. However, can I just tell everyone that if you are not on a food plan, you should be! There is so much I didn't know about food, how it interacts with your body that I do now. I've been on the Food Lovers Fat Loss…
