Hmm.. what do you guys think.
I'm not sure. I thought I wanted to get down to 100 pounds, but I'm really starting to be happy with the body I'm in at 5'3'' and117. I'm thinking about maybe really starting to focus on toning and eating right (enough fruits, veggies, water, whole grains, etc. and cutting out red meat). I think that I set my goal too low…

rest day?
I've worked out pretty hard the past two days, and I'm pretty sore, and wondering if maybe I should take a rest day? I heard that it's beneficial to take a day off and take it easy to help your muscles recover, but I sort of feel guilty doing that. How does everyone else feel about taking a day off?

Calorie burn--heart rate monitor vs machine vs website?
I have found that I get a significantly different number for "calories burned" between my heart rate monitor (constant monitor w/chest strap), whatever cardio machine I'm on (treadmill, elliptical, etc), and many websites, including this one. For example, after 50 minutes on the elliptical today, my HRM said 390 calories,…

Heart rate monitors and burning calories..
I was going to run into Wal Mart and pick up a cheap $30 HRM. But how important are they? And how exactly does the whole calorie deficit thing work? P90X guide tells me I need to eat 3000 calories a day. Which seems extremely high! I can't see burning more then maybe 700 calories in one workout..

Best Exercise to get rid of Baby Pooch?
Does anyone know how to get rid of a baby pooch? I have had 3 kids by 2 c-sections. The second pregnancy was twins and I was stretched to the Heavens and back. I have been losing everywhere but my pooch. When I sit down it still rolls over my pants. I know I may not be able to get rid of it all but would like to get rid of…

Golf
It's beginning to show signs of a warm weekend in MS.. I'm wondering is it possible to blow off the gym Saturday and partake in some type of golfing activity instead (driving range or 18 holes). I mean you'll burn calories anyway.

Should I take a rest day?
My neck and shoulders are SUPER sore from my first attempt at Jillian Michaels' 6 Week Six-Pack yesterday. (See link below.) Should I take a rest day from strength and just do cardio today, or should I do the DVD again? http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/161192-just-tried-jillian-s-6-week-six-pack

Working out in the AM, feeling sick
Hi, I decided to work out at 6 am before my kids get up, and I love the idea that it burns more fat, since you have an empty stomach. However, I felt really sick during most of my workout. I had to stop during my peak because I felt gaggy. Does this go away? I am thinking about having like 1/4 or 1/2 of my weight loss…

Billy Blanks Jr. Cardioke DVD
My sister (ntracey17) and I recently purchased Billy Blanks Jr.'s Cardioke DVD and were wondering whether it would be considered high impact aerobics or dancing? Now, I know this may be a hard question if you don't have the DVD; it comes with three levels - High, medium, and low cardio. It is pretty consistent on keeping…

traditional scales vs digital scales?
I've been using a traditional scale since the beginning and it seems to be consistant. I wanted to get a digital to get my exact weight, so I bought one this past weekend and it is totally off! I don't know if I got a defect or what. My traditional scale reads 166. My digital read 195, then 177, then 160, then 185! I…

Exercise Calories burned
Is there a way this website can add additional exercises to the exercise plan such as hot yoga and some popular exercise DVD's such as Jillian Michaels etc. The calories burned from these exercises cannot be found in current list available. I know hot yoga burns alot more calories than general yoga.

Help Organizing a Run
So thanks to my recent foray into fitness, and specifically running, an organization that I volunteer with has asked me and my wife to organize a run. Although it sounds like it should be fun, I must admit that event planning in general is not my strength. I've been in races before and seen essentially how they would…

Turbo Fire yay, Insanity neh?
Ok, I’m going to start what may appear like a duplicate post but I swear it’s not. There are so many opinions on beachbody DVD’s and trust me, I read through several threads before posting so I wanted to get a one final question out there before purchasing Turbo Fire. I want to make sure it’s not like Insanity and not…

Couch to 25K or 30 Day Shred
Currently to this point I have just been monitoring my foods and not doing any real exercise  , but I think to see the larger loss that i need (have 75lbs to lose only losing about 1lb/week with diet only) I will have to start doing something other than just sitting on my large backside. :blushing: I have the 30 day…

Ooookay, any others?

30 day shred and HRM
Ok. I did my first day of the 30 day shred and had my HRM on. According to the HRM, the activty lasted 28 minutes (that's when I turned it off). It said (after subtracting my 'resting calories burned') I burned 299 calories. I'm 130 pounds. Does this sound right? MFP has my BMR at 1520 and I chose Sedentary because I have…

Weight lifting calories?
MFP doesn't give you credit for calories burned while weight lifting and I have no idea how to judge what may be used during that time. Typically I do 30-60 minutes of cardio then weight lift for 30 min. then abs followed by stretching so another 15 min. That would make my exercise 75-115 min. total. I am trying to eat…
