Tofu Help
I loooove tofu. I cannot cook it well to save my life. There must be some step or technique I’m just missing. How do you cook yours? Need help from the beginning: from unwrapping and pressing or draining all the way through cooking. I tried cooking firm marinated tofu in an aircrisper yesterday and it just came out dry and…

Any one else having trouble with eating enough?
I am a VERY busy person and hardly find time to eat and when I do I don't eat very much. I meal plan but, like I said, I am very busy and just end up either not eating the pre planned meals or just forgo it all together, even forgetting to eat all together. I know I need to eat more because I am always tired and I am just…

Nutrition tracker??
Hi, I am kind of new here - just came back after some time. I was using another app which would track down calories but also nutrition and would give you an idea of what you still needed to add to your diet, so sometimes I would add a bit more of a specific vitamin for dinner or something like that. I am so sorry that app…

Porridge with soy milk issue?
Hi guys This seems like a weird one. I've recently swapped to soy milk, however one thing I cannot get right is porridge! This is my go-to afternoon snack as it keeps me from reaching for junk foods. I'm not sure quite how to explain the issue - the oats aren't 'absorbing' the milk? Usually it combines into porridge but I…

Steak
You go into a restaurant and you order a 12 oz rib eye. When the server brings it to you it does not look like 12 oz cooked because some fat has cooked off. So last night I had steak 11.5 oz precooked and 7.1 after cooking. Which do I log? (I cut off a 3rd of it and had the rest with a egg this morning) Anyone have an…

Slim fast?
Has anyone had any luck drinking slim fast shakes to lose weight? I had my first slim fast shake today for dinner. It was pretty tasty blended with 2% milk and ice. I also feel quite satisfied. Just wondering about other peoples experience with it.

J in the Bx Ultramate Breakfast sandwich /
Although I despise Jack in the Box. My wife takes her mother 3 days a week to Dialisys and granny loves Jack Box. I treat myself to their lowest calorie Ultimate breakfast sandwich (no cheese, no bun) on here, and from their site that is 228 calories. Its confusing as my homemade version is only 155 cals. ingredients = 1…

RICE! RICE! RICE!
For my weight loss journey, I really wanted to reduce my carb intake so I decided to switch from jasmine white rice to eating cauliflower rice. It has helped tremendously with weight loss and overall health. However, I wanted to reintroduce regular rice in my diet since I want to maintain my weight and stay healthy. Should…

From keto to low fat
Had my gallbladder out a few weeks ago and developed complications post operatively due to my diet. Now the doctor has restricted me to 18g of fat or less per day. I've found a couple good meals that I've thoroughly enjoyed but not really anything overly excited about. I'm trying to introduce fruits and veggies into my…

Raising my calories when not hungrier
I have PCOS, so I need to stay under 50% carbs more than most, and its recommended by many to cut back or eliminate dairy because the hormones make ours go askew, which affects our insulin levels somehow, and can lead to diabetes (I've read over half of us become diabetic). I cut back. Because of this, I switched to…

EGGS.?benefits of caged vs no caged eggs
So I'm reading labels, researching, youboob videoing Dr. opinions etc. trying to make healthier food selections. Pasture free eggs (orange/darker yolk) are $6+ dozen vs non caged eggs (yellow yolk like all others) around $3+/dozen vs $1-$2+/dozen for typical grade A large eggs. I cant see any nutritious benefit in…

Chicken with 85 grams of protein?
I created a recipe using 763 grams of raw boneless skinless chicken breast. I cooked the chicken in the air fryer with no additional oil. After the chicken was cooked, I re-weighted it at 563 grams and put that amount as the serving amount. Today when I logged my meal; I chose my recipe & entered in my serving size 203…

Why is my total percentage of fat macro higher than my goal if I had less than my goal?
Hello, as you can see in the attached images, it says my total fat is 37% and my goal is 30%. However when I click on it I see that I’ve had 69 g of fat instead of my goal of 77 so should my total fat consumption be less than 30%?

Favorite (Unsung-hero-type) Whole Foods?
Okay, people. What are your favorite whole foods? I'm looking to learn about new ones, and maybe you will, too if we get a thread going. Mine are: Burdock root (it makes me feel full, and has a satisfyingly chewy texture) Lotus root (it makes me feel calm and I really like the taste) Sweet brown rice (never thought I'd…

Exercise calories
Iv always been pretty confused by eating back calories burnt. For example if I’m in a caloric deficit and my caloric goal is to hit 2000Kcal on this deficit and I then burn 1000kcal through exercise that day, is my caloric goal intake for that day then 3000kcal to make up for calories lost through exercise?

Can sugar be replaced with monkfruit sweetener easily?
So I have a chocolate chip cookie recipe and wondered if swapping the sugar for the monkfruit sweetener would cause any problems? I'm not trying to make them keto friendly or anything like that. Just wondered if that would be a simple way to reduce calories a bit and enjoy a little indulgence. I know I could enjoy them…

Why estimating cals in is risky
Made home made mac n cheese with hubby today. Had literally a couple of bites to try it. My "portion" weighed 55 grams cooked. Not a lot of food. If I had to estimate, I would have said 50 cals. I programmed the elbow pasta, whole milk, butter, flour and cheddar cheese into the recipe calculator. Entire dish was 2460…

Dry Breaded Baked Chicken
One of the family's favorite meals is breaded chicken cutlets (which are typically pan fried in olive oil) I'm supposed to be reducing my fat intake so instead of pan frying mine, I baked it in the oven instead. Which actually wasnt TOO terrible but the breading was super dry. Any suggestions on how to get the breading a…

how much does coffee/caffeine affect anemia?
I've just been diagnosed with iron deficiency anemia, and I suspect part of the issue is that I gave blood in late April. My hemoglobin was fine at that point, and also last June when I had some bloodwork done. I do run, and have been increasing mileage a bit, and speed a little, too. I've also been sweating more with the…

Why are MFP food entries so wildly inaccurate?
Hi All, Been around for a little while. I'm just wondering why there are so many inaccurate food posts on here.? It's hard enough trying to log everything I eat when so many things are just plain wrong. IE whatever soup, no sodium etc., serving öne bowl" MFP has to come up with a better way of doing this. Not sure what…

Chocolate drink with hardly any calories - ground cacao brewed like coffee
I know July/August is really no time to think about hot cocoa but I just tried Crio Bru Brewed Cacao. I suspect there may be other brands available but I read about this somewhere -- don't remember where. It's cocoa beans roasted like coffee and ground. You brew it like coffee in a French press and it makes a tasty…
