What are some tips you would have for someone switching to a pescatarian diet?
I have always struggled with eating enough protein and grew up not really paying attention to the quality of the food that I was eating. I have decided to switch from an omnivore diet to a pescatarian diet due to finding out the benefits of seafood and how it seems more sustainable for me than being a vegetarian. I would…

Good Meal Planning Starts with Good Grocery Shopping
Good Day MF Pals, Today I was getting ready to do my weekly grocery shopping and I was looking through the ads for my local grocery stores on-line. I noticed something new today while perusing the ads, most of the food featured in the ads doesn't look good to me. After spending more than 2 months logging my food every meal…

Low Carb Considerations
I'm a 65 year old woman, currently trying for the one hundredth time to lose the same 20 pounds. I've tried low glycemic, simple calorie counting, weight watchers, noom, etc. etc., lose the same five pounds. After 3-4 months of whatever diet, I always decide it's not worth the pain to lose five pounds. I should mention…

High Blood Pressure, High Cholesterol…but not husband
It has been awhile since I have been on MyFitnessPal. I have been dealing with high blood pressure and higher cholesterol for 6 years along with menopause. Add 10 lbs since then and was told that my cholesterol was so high I will need to go on statins. He is giving me until April 1 to see if it is something I can start…

How to reduce fat intake?
My target is 52g of fat a day, but I’m always above that because I have olive oil, nuts, and peanut butter every day. If I eat meat it’s lean (chicken breast, tenderloin). I do meet my protein target, but I’m above my fat target and always below carbs target.

Cheese Admiration and Celebration
On another thread, there was a multi-person request for a thread devoted to cheese, for those of us who love it. Yes, it's calorie dense, though some types more than others. Personally, I love it anyway. So, please discuss: * Which is your favorite cheese? * Do you have a special way of using/eating cheese? Great recipe or…

Kale
Trying to figure out nutritional content of kale. Searched it on MFP, looked only at entries with a green check mark, and the numbers are all over the place! How can a cup of kale that has nothing added be anywhere from 9 to 49 calories?

Caloric intake
Hi, so when setting up my basic calories to lose weight I chose an activity level… now every time I work out I track that and the app gives me more calories, am I double dipping on these calories since they may already be accounted for? Or is the activity level question for more-so your metabolism of some sort?

A Week of Fiber-Rich Meals as a Runner: Not! Deplorable advice
I just looked at the article entitled, "A Week of Fiber-Rich Meals as a Runner." I was shocked that this is promoted as a worthy week of eating. Every breakfast included instant oatmeal, redeemed by blueberries and a banana. The rest of the meals also included a disturbing amount of ultraprocessed food. They included subs…

Why Aspartame Isn't Scary
Hey everyone. I've seen my fair share of posts on the forums with regards to the dangers of aspartame and how it is a poison or a toxin or a carcinogen. Wanted to clear some things up about aspartame if I could just to explain why I personally believe there is absolutely no reason to fear aspartame. What is aspartame? For…

Alcohol to Budweiser zero to Diet sundrop
So, I quit drinking alcohol 2 weeks ago. I drink sodas, water, and diet soda. Also drinking budweiser zero which has zero alcohol but are 50 cals...How do I kick the soda, diet soda habit? Should I use those drink packets that go in bottled water? I have at least 65 pounds to lose, would be better if I lost 100.

Can someone recommend a multivitamin that doesn't low blood sugar?
Multivitamins and excercise trigger my hypoglycemia leading me to overindulge in sugars and carbs. I have upped my protein. Incidence has reduced but it still happens.

Food group logging
Hi, What do the numbers mean on my food group log? They make no sense, and there's no explanation anywhere. For instance, I apparently logged 3 vegetables last week. I had 200 grams of sprouts with dinner everyday, so I don't understand why it says 3. I had three good sources of protein everyday, but MFP has logged 7 Can…

Micronutrients are not being tracked!
Hi everyone, So far I'm very please with the MFP app and it has helped me a lot since I started using it. There's only one major issue I have. Some micronutrients are not being tracked! I'm talking about especially Potassium, Calcium and Iron. I'm everyday way below the limit. And I'm positive those are not the real…

Favourite snacks?
Looking for more snack ideas. In the 100-300 cal range. High protein would be great but not necessary. Preferably something quick and easy (store bought or just take a couple mins to throw together), or something I can make a batch of and freeze. I’ve been stuck on protein bars, lunchables, popcorn, fruit, yogurt/smoothie.…

Day 3
Day 3 I followed the guidelines today, which included eating only whole foods—things that originate from the ground or have had a mother—and drinking half my weight in water. Challenges: Cravings: I missed packaged snacks like granola bars and chips since they were so convenient. Being hungry between meals made it…

Getting recommended foods based on macros.
I was previously using noom where foods fell into categories (red, yellow, green) and calorie goals were broken up by category. You could also easily see types of food in each category. Obviously MFP is more advanced and tracks goals by more detailed things, like fat, protein, and carbs. And foods contribute to all…
