Protein packed snack ideas, other than nut products
Hi! I am looking to pick the collective brain of MFP for some healthy snack ideas. I have a tree nut allergy (I *can* eat peanuts and cashews) so many of the non-meat, non-dairy protein ideas are not available for me. I feel like I already get enough animal protein in my diet and I would eat cheese all day if you let me --…

To eat egg yolks or not?!
This is a question that I've seen and heard arguments to both sides of recently. I've generally eaten egg yolks but recently someone told me I shouldn't as they're high in fat. But then I understand that they're good fats, or am I going in the wrong direction? Seems like a waste to not use the yolk but I don't want to…

Looking for new snack ideas
Hello MFP Community, I'm looking for some new snack ideas. I typically have two snacks at work - a protein with a fruit or veggie. I've been rotating cheese sticks, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, and hummus and wheat crackers. It's been one month, 10 lbs, and a lack of variety. Would love to hear how you spice up the lunch bag!

Eating at a restaurant
I went to an Italian restaurant to find that the menu doesn't include calorie intake per meal. I managed to count but never was certain how many calories I actually took in. How do you do when in a restaurant and the menu doesn't inform you of calories for each meal?

Is it calories or what you eat???
I had a bad day the other day but it didn't eat bad food. It got me thinking. Is it the amount of food you eat i.e. the calories or is it what you eat. Surely if you eat over your calories but it's all fruit, veg etc surely it doesn't matter??? What's your opinion??? :)

Strong lift nutrition question
So according to the member's testimonial, they all got stronger, gain more muscle while lowering their body fat, however Mehdi did not mention anything about bulking or cutting, just eat a clean diet. A clean diet can be surplus or deficit, I've been doing something similar to stronglift which is mostly compound exercise,…

Not Losing Weight - MFP calorie counter correct?
I want to lose 1-1.5 lbs per week. The base calorie level for me is 1200. When I work out the MFP calorie level is at anywhere from 1700-2100 -so I follow it accordingly. Is Low FODMAP & Lose Weight possible? - HELP!
Hi! On medical advice from my doctor I recently undertook a Low FODMAP elimination plan to establish the intolerances I have developed. This has pretty much ruled me as Wheat Intolerant in addition to an existing Lactose Intolerance, plus I've cut out onion and stone fruit. I've been watching my portion sizes and the…

Juice Fasting?
I've heard a lot of good things about it, but it can't be all it's cracked up to be, can it? I've watched a documentary called "Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead" on Netflix that focuses on the benefits of juice fasting (for short periods of time, no longer than 60 days). But I would like to hear about any experiences with juice…

Hi, I had a blood test a couple weeks ago and which showed that I have very low iron levels, not a surprise since I don't eat red meat. Don't be a dirt bag, be Vitamin D Deficient!
I decided to post this up since it doesn't seem like many people have heard of it: Vitamin D: it can be created on the skin, formed into a powder, and then absorbed. It's been mentioned on scholarly articles that this is one of the reasons why furry things lick their skin. It's also been mentioned that you can wash it off…

Sugar... WTF
Without taking into consideration the days I stress eat with lots of sweets, I am always going over my sugars! Even if I think I am doing really well. Are the expectations of MFP just crazy low? For instance, today I ate gluten free oatmeal with aguve and that was 22 grams, my goal is 29. Any fruit or pretty much anything…
