Clean eating 30 day challenge!
I have started myself on a clean eating 30 day challenge. I started my fitness journey last May. I restricted myself to 1200 calories a day and when I worked out I would eat back all of my exercise calories. At the beginning it was mostly good meals for myself. By December I had lost 22 pounds. Now I have slacked off in…

'White starchy foods"
Since early January I have almost no white rice, white flour, white bread, white potatoes.... And almost no migraines or headaches. (I normally have some sort of headache 80% of the time and a few migraines a month) Last week I made a delicious dinner with white basmati rice. I just had one serving. (It was still about 45…

Cooking with Oils and Marinades & Logging it
I want to account for all my calories and I do it as accurately as possible. I even count breath mints. I don't want a generic, well count everything and over estimate - it's safer that way. That's like driving 45 mph on the highway because you don't know if the speed limit is 55, 65 or 70 mph. It doesn't make sense and it…

Hormonal/Stress Lack of Hunger?
Do any ladies have days where you are not hungry and days where you are hungry and can eat anything in sight? I do. This kind of fluctuation seems to be related to my hormones. I have a lot of stress in my life right now. I'm currently at the not hungry week. My calorie intake is so low, it's pathetic. Food completely lost…

Can't meet my sugar daily target
Hi there, It seems like no matter what I eat in a day, I can't meet the sugar daily target. If I eat 1 banana and a mandarin, I'm already over the target. I'm confused as I actualy pay attention to what I eat! Is MFP simply miscalculating what my sugar intake should be? Or should i cut out my fruit intake?

Why Calorie Counts are Wrong: 6 Diet Myths, Busted
Okay guys and gals, get after it! Copied from Health Magazine. http://news.health.com/2013/02/07/why-calorie-counts-are-wrong-6-diet-myths-busted/ When I tell clients that they can lose weight by eating more calories, they often look at me like I’m either trying to trick them or I’ve lost my marbles. But the truth is, the…

Fruit's are healthy for you
Bananas High in potassium and low in sodium, bananas help lower your risk of high blood pressure and stroke. Bonus: Protease inhibitors that can prevent stomach ulcers Kiwis Ounce for ounce, kiwis contain more than twice as much vitamin C as oranges, plus they may lower the risk of cataracts and could even protect DNA from…

bedtime snack for AM run
I have been doing C25K and I do it first thing in the morning before I eat breakfast b/c if I don't have the time to wait long enough afterwards to do it so I do not feel nauseated. What do you suggest as a snack in the evenings that will help me as the runs get more intense. I was thinking maybe a banana, nuts and milk. I…

Gaining weight with nutribullet?
Last week I purchased a nutribullet to better help me consume fruits and veggies which I never eat. I have been eating the same way and the same things with the exception of breakfast. For breakfast, instead of having a bacon, egg and cheese on a roll or some other equally unhealthy breakfast, I have been substituting that…

Sugar in Fruits
I am trying to eat a lot of fruit (well at least 4 servings a day, hopefully) because I think it is important. Will the sugar from fruit affect (effect?!) me negatively? I am under the impression that naturally occurring sugar is okay. Thanks.

Food Scale: Digital or Analog?
Right now I have a traditional analog food scale. It was like $6 so I wasn't going to pass it up. I was just wondering if one is more accurate than the other and what people's preferences are. Thanks.

I need help from all of you
Question to all: beside logging your foods everyday, do you all pre-plan your meals? Another question: for those of you with children who you have to cook for, how do you plan healthy meals when your kiddos don't eat like you do? How do you make it work for your household and maintain your goals at the same time? Another…

Groceries Are Killing Me
I spent $600 on groceries last month. For one person. Admittedly, it's not like I've eaten everything I bought - there's still some salmon in the freezer and pantry staples that will last me a few months. But holy hell. I probably ate $50 worth of Greek Yogurt alone this month. Seriously, I can't afford to spend this much…

Breaking Up My Calorie Allotment, Is 1/2 on 1 Meal Okay?

Not eating enough calories per MFP - suggestions?
I am having a hard time eating all the calories MFP wants me to eat. I just can't seem to get up to what they want a day no matter what I do. I always fall between 400-600 short. But I'm not hungry enough to eat and I don't want to eat if I'm not hungry. I know eating too few calories is unhealthy so I don't want to fall…
