Looking for friends with similar goals...
Hi everyone! I'm a teacher, married for 11 years, and have 3 kids! I love to read, go camping, ride bike, and relax. I need to lose about 50 - 60 lbs! Each pregnancy took it's toll and I never really did anything about it until now. My kids are 8,6, and 3, so telling people it's baby weight just doesn't cut it…

Eating out
Being a college student, I go out to eat with my friends once a week or more. The city I live in has a ton of great family owned and seemingly healthy restaurants, but the only problem is that many of these places don't have a menu with nutrition facts. How have you recorded food that you don't have calorie data for? I…

Does anyone use Designer Whey Protein powder? or a "Clean" p
I am looking for a more "natural" or "clean" (read "nothing artificial at all") protein powder. My protein has been low lately, and I am trying to build a bit of muscle. Is Designer Whey (particularly the "natural" flavor) actually natural with NOTHING artificial? If not, which protein powders are?

The 17 Day Diet: Day 3
Day 3 is now under my belt. Its crazy how in such a short amount of time my fast food cravings have changed. Well, here it comes! I…

Hey everyone! I found this article and thought it was really interesting: http://www2.macleans.ca/2011/01/12/a-magic-calorie-ride/ "The term “food addiction” is controversial, but recent studies have shown that high-calorie foods engage the same regions of the brain as drugs like heroin and cocaine. Pasta cooking water?
I have been trying to work out the calorie values for Jamie Olivers Cauliflower pasta bake. Without the water it's ended up 356 calories a portion, or 444 with the bacon bread crumb topping. You use some of the water the pasta and cauliflower is cooked in though so that must add a few calories, but how many? I've searched…
