However, my problem is this: how do you record things like casseroles? Whole grain blueberry muffins? Etc... Today, for example we ate: Breakfast: Whole wheat blueberry muffins (2 eggs, 3…

Doughnuts
Does anyone here think it is odd that the food database shows that a glazed doughnut only has 118 calories? I thought doughnuts were WAY worse for you than that. The reason I ask is that we used to get a doughnut every Saturday morning last summer (it is like a 4 mile walk round trip, and pushing a double stroller) and I…

estimating calories...
I worked out & then went to lunch with a friend and had a great asparagus and ricotta calzone. It seemed like it was meant as a one-person entree...so I was estimating the calories as 500. EATING FOR STRESS
This is long but a worthwhile article: Eating for Stress by L. Lee Coyne, Ph.D. Any good stress management program will tell you that all stress is perceived by conscious or sub-conscious mind. It is not an absolute but rather a relative response phenomena to our environment and is best defined by how we "choose" to…

good calories vs. bad calories
I know that eating a total garbage diet, even if you stay within your calories is not good, but what about splurges here and there? Does our body know the difference between good and bad calories as long as there aren't too many of them? For instance, I ate a pretty low cal breakfast and lunch and I just took a walk, so I…

Cereal as a snack
I am on quests to find new things to cnack on that are in the "normal" food category, meaning none of these goofy diet cookies or low carb fad things. Splenda/Sugar question
I love Hungry-girl and love the new cookbook, but I noticed that a lot of recipes call for Splenda. 100 calorie angel food cake?
Hey guys - My parents picked up an angel food cake from the Safeway bakery (pre-made), and we were amazed to find that one serving (and it's a huge serving 1/8 of the big cake) was only 100 calories!
