Conscious Eating and RMR
I've been reading up today, on RMR, which is the Resting Metabolic Rate. Really I was quite surprized by the fact that while going on a 1200 calorie diet might work for people to lose weight quickly (can't tell you how many people have tried to sell that one in conversation in my day to day)--you're actually hurting your…

Invisible friend
Does anyone have an invisible friend? My son introduced us to "Tony" when he was 2. I think he really knew what the gig was and just invented Tony to jag us. Anyway, I was thinking that an invisible friend might be helpful when willpower starts to fade....at a feast, late at night, whenever the need calls for....TONY. So…

My cholesterol is way down
Dear Pals, I started here last September after my doctor told me my total cholesterol was 245. I did the American Heart Association diet, counting calories and fat/carb/protein here. Have you ever noticed
On all of the "diet" or dietary worksheets, one of the questions they always ask is "how often do you think about food?" Until I started watching everything I eat- I didn't unless I was figuring out what to make for dinner. Now- I wake up thinking- what foods can I eat and stay in my limits! I plan every meal and think…

Japan vacation
My husband and I just returned from an 8 day trip to Japan. We ate whatever we wanted and did not try to diet whatsoever. Obesity…
