TDEE
hi all So I'm trying to calculate my TDEE. I'm pretty much sedentary but I work out 3-4x a week with elliptical 45 mins and weights 20-25mins. I also do a Pilates video which is about 20 mins long about 4 times a week. What would my activity level be as I'm trying to maintain my weight. I'm 5' 10" and about 128.

Help!! How many calories to maintain?!?
I am 5'3 and 117 pounds and hoping to maintain a 40 pound loss I just had. I looked up my maintence calories for my weight from multiple online calcs and they said about 1500 calories to maintain. I think this is reasonable because I am very sedentary but myfitnesspal said 1,600! Who do I trust? I really don't want to gain…

Low Carb Backfire?
Hi I could use some help. I thought I was decent with knowing what to eat to have a somewhat 'clean' diet. I've been back on the wagon for a month and going strong, I lost 7 lbs and went away over the weekend. I didn't eat horrible but ate some things (hamburger vs turkey burger) that I've been staying away from. I get…

Do calorie requirements change when you have more muscle?
Everyone says that having more lean muscle mass increases you metabolism, but how do you figure that in to calories that you need to maintain? I'm around 122 lbs, but about 18% bf and I would assume I need to eat more to maintain than someone the same weight with less muscle? Any advice on this would be useful and I'm…

Anyone take a "maintenance break" before you hit your goal?
I'm about half way there... need to lose another 25 lbs. I'm feeling kind of burned out. Would it be detrimental to "practice maintenance" for a month or so? I'm thinking I'll take some time off in September and again between US Thanksgiving and Christmas. FWIW, "practicing maintenance" would still mean tracking and…

Do you really need to cut calories after a splurge?
I am very close to 1 year of calorie counting, 7 months of maintenance. I have lost weight, maintained weight and of coarse gained weight - all without counting calories. I have no intention of quitting calorie counting at this time as it is helping me achieve my goals. Once a week or maybe once every other week I eat out.…

How to not be one of those "I lost X pounds but then I gained X of it back!"
I see lots of those pop up around here. I'm a few pounds from what I previously said was my goal weight (really, I think I'm at goal at this point). I'm trying to seriously start thinking of what maintainence and recomposition will look like for me. How do you *not* become a statistic, as they say?

Can your body adopt a new "set" point?
I recently watched a TED talk about mindfulness eating and weight loss. The speaker said there was research that shows our body has a set point - - a weight that it wants to be. We can increase our set point easily, but lowering that point is super hard. When we lose more than this our bodies ramp up hormones and chemicals…

Building muscle
I'm pretty much sedentary (homemaker so cooking, cleaning, grocery shopping etc) but I work out 3-4x a week with elliptical 45 mins and weights 20-25mins. I also do a Pilates video which is about 20 mins long about 4 times a week. I want to build muscle, should I reduce my cardio or continue what I'm doing and eat at…

Lost nearly 25 lbs - BUT...
Hello All, I lost nearly 25 lbs by using MFP and my fitbit (THANKS MFP) mostly by doing portion control and a little walking. My concern is that I dont necessarily need to lose more weight but I do need to really watch my carbs and sugar intake to keep triglycerides and cholesterol in check. What "goal" option would you…

How long before you consider a gain a TRUE gain?
I've been maintaining my weight (healthy weight/BMI) for over a year without issue though my BF% is higher than I'd like. Three weeks ago, I went on vacation and while away I loosely tracked but did indulge in dessert just about every night. Still, I know that I didn't eat 3500 calories over maintenance, especially because…

How many calories?
So I hit a plateau, but I'm satisfied with the way I look and am aiming to maintain at this weight. my question is, should I continue eating the number of calories I was when I hit the plateau (I set it to lose a pound a week, but was never losing that fast), or should I reset it to maintain? I'm concerned that the…

The famous question ☺️
how many calories do you eat to maintain your weight range? I know it's by trial and error. I'm 5' 10" and about 128-130. I have multiple chronic illnesses that restrict my diet and exercise but I'm fighting hard. I have been making a conscious effort to eat sufficient protein as I have been lacking..

Plexus Body Cleanse and Plexus Probio5 question....
I'm not looking to lose weight but I'm told there are wonderful health benefits in taking Plexus Body Cleanse and Plexus Probio5. The product is mostly promoted in helping people looking to lose weight. Would it be ok for me to take it for the sake of the cleansing and probiotic benefits? Or will I drop too much weight?…

How to pick maintence range
How do you know what's a good size range to try to maintain in? I know that weight can fluctuate based on various things (salt, TOM, eating out) and I want to set a target range broad enough to not freak out over a temporary weight gain, but not so large to make it a pain to cut back down. I have just gotten into my…

How to stop losing but not gain?
okay; so I have lost all the pounds I need to lose and I keep on losing around 1 pound every week; how do I stop this? I really don't want to stop…

How did you select your goal weight?
Hi, I am about 6 weeks into trying to maintain a 68lb loss, but have lost a few extra lbs as I work out my true maintenance and come to terms with how much food that actually means! Having been overweight since my late teens, I had no idea what my ideal weight would feel like, so I set my goal using BMI. I took 7lbs off…

Has the amount of food you can eat changed?
I have only lost a little bit of weight (16 kilos), and I don't think my stomach has shrunk. I used to be able to eat a whole block of chocolate, a thing of dip, a family bag of chips, a family bag of popcorn etc, and right after my main meal and STILL be hungry. On other occassions I could eat 2 medium pizzas (one with…
