Maintaining
I'm 5'2" weight 122. To maintain I'm supposed to eat 1500 calories - I couldn't manage 1200 so this is near impossible for me. I do eat, I have no eating disorders: I watch my sugar, was told I was diabetic in Feb & 2 mos later I was no longer diabetic. I eat well but there is no way I'm hungry to eat all these calories.…

Constipation weighs???
I suffer from constipation and on the days I weigh in, if I'm constipated I could weigh 2-3 lbs heavier than 2 days earlier. Does this make sense? I keep getting frustrated that I'm gaining weight but my diet is superb!

Example. 1. tea w/2%milk, hot oatmeal. 2. tbsp peanut butter, 4 cucumber slices, 4, carrot sticks. 3. Chicken sandwich, salad. 4. LF…

For the last 8 months or so I've been losing weight. I've lost around 20lbs by eating 1900calories a day (with many blips along the way), I now want to maintain my weight which MFP says I can do by eating 2900 calories a day. How do I suddenly eat an extra 1000 calories a day without making every day a blip?! I want to be…

I'm not enjoying maintenance #rant
1st off, I am going to do the whole thanks thing. Your posts are entertaining and informative. I appreciate the counter argument comments on the blog posts MFP pushes. There are tons of "good things" about being "fit." Obviously this should be a life style change, not just losing weight to hit a number and go back to your…

Question about calories
I hit my goal of losing 50 pounds back in June, and was pretty much on maintenance throughout the summer. I usually eat between 1200- 1500 calories a day and hardly ever eat back any exercise calories. It seems like any time I eat between 1400-1500 I will always gain a pound or two. It makes me feel like I will always have…

always hungry?
I've done the math a million times, and my TDEE should be not more than 1900 calories. I think this is low! But my Jawbone says I burn between 1450-1550 a day without exercise (just with whatever steps I get, which are averaging about 7200 a day or so), and my exercise according to MFP averages out to 333 calories a day.…

Does being told you are thin ever get old?
After being heavy most of my life, I lost 70 pounds and have been maintaining for over a year and a half now. While people I've known all along have generally (understandably) stopped making comments about my weight, I still feel surprised when someone says something about me being "skinny" or "thin". I usually get a…

Weight fluctuation is natural
I just wanted to start this thread because people often worry about weight fluctuations, while it is very natural. They can be caused by a combination of things like water retention, food in your digestive track, etc. Here are two real life examples: 1) A few months ago I was a bit constipated, and weighed myself before…

Figuring out your maintenance calories
I've gone from 210 down to within 1 lb of my goal weight of 152 in 8 months. I think I want to adjust my goal to lose maybe 5 more lbs at a slower weight but I'm not sure how I should adjust my calories to an almost maintenance level. If there's anyone out there with tips on how to increase my intake a little without…

They don't call it yoyo 'cause it's fun.
So I was thinking about Phil Staples. He is the man in the documentary I watched the other night called "Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead". He weighed over 400 lbs, and with the help of juicing lost 200 lbs. I wondered how he was doing so I goggled him and of course, he gained all the weight back. He had a variety of reasons for…

Is ignorance bliss?
Time for a little rant! Last night I was at a barbecue, it was a buffet style at my sister in laws - I stuck to the meats plus salads and for dessert I indulged in a small slice of birthday cake and some trifle.... That all came to 1500 calories!! For one meal! (My TDEE is approx 2200) Anyway what I'm ranting about is that…

Started out at 265 now I am at 180 -
I am now transitioning into maintenance mode - which is interesting - I have to eat more which now I find to be hard - I am still working out quite steadily - I intend to continue working out - I find that I truly enjoy running now - but when I started this journey that statement would have been laughable - I have signed…
