Maintainance calories
Trying to wrap my head around carb cycling and getting the right amount of protein, carbs and fat on low & high carb days. But stumbling on what MFP gives me for maintenance calories alone: 2240??? Seems high for female, 139 lbs, 20% body fat and working out 5-6/week. Did I miss something?

Stalled in a weird place...
I began weighing and logging my food around the end of January using the calorie intake assigned to me by the trainer at my crossfit gym based on my BMR plus a combo of HIIT and heavy lifting 5x a week. Even though I had to build up to attending 5x a week, which took 2 months, I lost a steady 3 lbs per month for the first…

Exercise
Hi all, So I've hit my goal weight (perhaps gone a bit lower just in case) but now want to maintain. I exercised like an animal, to me at least, as well as calorie counting. I was cycling for hours and even started doing the odd but of running every day without fail -pain or no pain. I am a male, mid to late twenties,…

A Question for Maintainers...
Hey there! Thank you for clicking on my post! My name is Katherine, I'm 5'6 and my starting weight was 249 lbs and I currently weigh 153. My ultimate goal weight is 145. I have lost the majority of my weight, but I am really struggling to get rid of these last 8 pounds or so. I have been around the 153 pounds mark for…

How I maintain my weight....
My two cents on staying "relatively" fit- not my best- not impressive by any means, but maintainable with a reasonable social life. I essentially live a very regimented lifestyle. Pretty much the same breakfast and lunch daily, and I keep enough food for both meals in the fridge/freezer/cupboards at work. I utilize the I'm…

What are my maintenance calories?
I was actually maintaining on 1150-1200 a day, and then this week started losing weight. I lost about a pound in three days?? I'm confused as to what my maintenance calories are.

10 lbs in 10 days
is it possible to lose 1lbs in 10 days safely? I am currently burning over 1000 calories daily for my work out but my fit plan wants me to each 2265 calories of food a day!! I am only eating about 1400 calories. I want to lose about 10 lbs but this schedule is relentless and has still not caused me to loose weight.

Can long flights cause weight gain, i.e., bloat/water retention?
Been maintaining fro 2 years fairly easily. Just got back from a 9 day vacation in Hawaii. I never eat all that much differently on vacation and this was no exception, i.e., I pretty much follow my usual eating pattern and if I veer off, it's only rarely - example: I ate two sushi rolls pretty packed with good stuff. I…

Need help calculating maintenance calories
Every place I look to calculate my BMR gives me a different number. Could someone help me figure out net calories I need for maintenance? I haven't achieved my goal yet, but I want to eat at maintenance for an upcoming vacation. I'm 37, female, 5'2. I'm currently at 136 lbs and have recently lost weight (about 8% of BW).…

How to Increase Calories
I'm maintaining on 1200 calories a day, and I know that isn't my maintenance calories because that shouldn't be anyone's maintenance calories. I want to eat more but I don't want to gain weight and I'm unsure of how much "weight gain" there is initially and how long it lasts.

Anyone else always cold?
I have been working on striking maintenance energy balance (still a work in progress as I've dropped down to 130) but find lately I'm freezing all the time. Like its August and I'm wearing sweaters, hiding under throws and have the furnace flicked on. I think my husband is ready to throttle me as he runs hot. Anyone else…

Maintenance Calories at 163 vs 159?
Well I dropped down to 159 as of this morning but, have been eating at .5lbs at 163 and just haven't updated in awhile. Now it says my maintenance calories at lightly active are 2040 while before at .5 lbs a week loss i was eating like 2100. That doesn't sound right does it?

Is maintaining weight, just as hard as losing weight?
I ask because I want to know what I am in for once I reach goal? Please share your story.

Yes. I'm struggling.
I had gastric bypass in 2014 and I lost over 200 pounds really quickly so I've been "maintaining" for more than a year. So I'm up and down about 8 pounds all the time. Cause I eat cake haha. I go through carb spurts and I hate it. I gain weight, freak out, put myself on restrictive diet. Lose weight. It feels like a…

Is anyone else not logging, in maintenance, but still lurking in MFP?
I started doing this a week ago. So far so good. I am not going to leave MFP in case I need a tune up. Why are you still on MFP?

Opinions on breaks from calorie counting ?
Okay so altogether I'm down 33 pounds since January. For the last week or two I've been eating what I like and haven't gained because im active all day so maybe that's what keeping those scales down ;) .I've been staying the same thankfully .I was thinking of staying on this break until the 26th of September as it feels…

three weeks of traveling: no gain
Yep, I think I have a good idea about how much I can eat without thinking too much about it. Came back from a 3 week work holiday (archaeological dig) in Southern Europe yesterday evening and just stepped on the scales for the first time since then. Prevacation I was at 56.6kg, now I'm 57.7, which is probably including the…

Vacation Relaxing
Just on my third week back from my back to back vacations. Relaxed to little to much and gained 9 pounds but have dropped 4 since getting back to my maintaining routine. Maintaining is a fool time job it seems.

Do you gain when you go to maintenance?
For the past week, I've been eating 1600-1800, mostly at the upper end, and so far I've gained .8 pounds. I run 2.3 miles 5 days a week, and 4.6 the other 2 days. I'm 5'9, female and 132 pounds. Wondering if this means I'm gaining or if it's like adjusting to more calories as I was previously eating 1400-1600. It seems odd…

Did I do it wrong?
First of all Hello! 2 years ago I was 215 pounds, I am now only 140. It only took me 11 months to loose the weight and I've been at 140 for about a year and 3 months. (my goal is 130) but I haven't really been stressing myself about 10 pounds. What started my weight loss was when I went to what was my first physical in…

Long term maintainers - do you count calories everyday?
Hi all. I'm at almost 500 days and counting calories everyday is exhausting me mentally. I go to uni and I can't stop think about food. What I can and cannot eat which makes me feel deprived or guilty if I go over my calories. My Family tells me I'm too serious as I weight all my food and always get angry when they ask to…

Chuffed this morning!!
Firstly, no one please burst my bubble, I appreciate that these machines are not always accurate...but today is my birthday so please be kind. This shows 2 months of progress on maintenance and recomp...and I am chuffed to bits. As I said, I know these machines are not always 100% accurate but I actually feel that I am…

How Much Inflammation Weight Do You Carry?
I have been in recomp for a few months and have slowly been gaining weight, most of it muscle. It sort of plays with my mind, gaining 5-7 pounds from my previous weight that I maintained for 1.5 years. However, I am still wearing the same size 4 pants so I don't sweat it too much. I realized something recently though ...…

Still looking big in pictures...
Sigh. I went hiking yesterday, I had a pretty tight hiking outfit with my sweater tied around my waist. I'm the smallest I've ever been, 38/29/36, with almost no fat left on my ribs (which you can see clearly). The outfit actually looked good on me... Yet I look big on the picture someone took of me - and it's just from…

Diet advice
Hello everyone! I wanted your advice. I've been training for about 3 months now. I started with a weight of 160 lbs and currently I'm at 147 lbs (probably 146). Like the title says, I'd wish to lose the excess fat, gain muscle, BUT maintain my current weight. Is there any dietary guidelines I can follow?
