Primary Goal Acheived
Two years ago my wife and I set out to change our lives. We were both overweight, smoked, and lived a mostly sedimentary lifestyle. Obviously this wasn’t a very good life choice, but at least in my head I though oh well I’m young I’ll just worry about it later....not a very smart way to think. So we in 2016 we both decided…

Since then I have completed two more half's with a PR each race. Today I am attempting my first full marathon and hope to finish in 5 hours. Never…

Breakthrough!
So, these last few years have been tough. I managed to get down to 115kg about 3 years ago, but then I got very unwell (later found out it was mould-related respiratory disease) and then had to take on both my disabled parents full time as well as working full time as a high school teacher. I turned to food for comfort…

Progress - 1/8th of the way there :)
This is my 204th day of logging my food in MFP. I had my follow-up visit with my endocrinologist today. The adrenal adenoma, appears to be smaller than before and is non-cancerous, we can stop worrying about it. The cysts on my thyroid are also just fluid filled and non-cancerous. My thyroid, liver and kidney functions are…

Lost 172lbs in 13 months!
After getting out of the military 9 years ago I gained weight from the “cube life” I called it! I hit a high of almost 400lbs and my knees started going out on me. So I decided to change my lifestyle not diet! I stuck to a 1500 calorie a day calorie plan using the myfitnesspal app and an Apple Watch to see my calories…

Just over 50lbs down!
I didn’t take a starting photo (I generally refused to have photos taken) so I didn’t have anything to compare to. I finally found one (taken sometime in the summer last year). In it I was about 230lbs. I’m now 176lbs. Here’s my before/after. I’m not at goal yet (aiming for between 140-154 - will see where I settle).

Different kind of success: I've quit video games.
people might say that video games have nothing to do with fitness, but i disagree, video games is an addiction, it'll make you lazier and less active, i used to play video games for more than 14 hours a day, sitting at my coach/chair forever is not going to benefit me in anyway, so I've made the drastic decision, and now…

30 lbs down; slow and steady
Hesitated to post until I had made significant progress. My entire adult life has involved starting the next diet. I had been maintaining a heavier build from regular walking, but arthritis in one hip really slowed me down. Walking was painful, even though my orthopedic doc said that it would get better the more active I…

Any women's recomp photos???
Have any women here visibly transformed their bodies without dropping major weight (say within 10 lbs), and/or gaining muscle?? I've read the recomp thread but have never seen anyone who has actually achieved visible results doing this in real life. I feel like this is what I really need to do to look better, I'm 5'4, 115…
