1 Week Anniversary - Thank You MFP!
I know celebrating one full week with MFP and eating healthy and working out might seem a little silly, BUT... baby steps, right? I have dieted before, tried to watch what I was eating before and I was exercising some before... but now that I'm part of the MFP family, I'm SO energized and SO motivated to keep at it! I…

WoooHooo Size 10!!!
Hi Everyone, I just wanted to share my success. Yesterday my clothes just felt and looked too big so I took a size 10 pair of jeans out of my closet and they fit!!!! It felt so good. I started out being a size 16 and squeezing into my 14's because I refused to be a size 16. I was excited to get back in a 12 but I feel so…

New Motivation
 I went today to get my hair cut and my hairdresser, which I haven't seen for about 8 weeks, says,"How much weight have you lost"? That was so encouraging...I know I'm losing weight but I just don't see it when I look in the mirror. It was nice for someone to actually notice that I've lost more weight. This is going…

I Survived Poker Night
I wanted my post subject to be "I survived poker night and all I got was this FANTASTIC body and increased motivation" but that wouldn't fit ;) I know this may seem silly, but last night was our August Poker night at our place and we had all of our friends over. Typically we have loads of potato chips and snacks available,…

I am so incredibly proud of myself! I have done awesome working out this weekend! Yesterday I cleaned my entire apartment for two hours burning ~414 calories and then I walked the dog burning ~52 calories. Today I went to the gym and did the elliptical for thirty minutes burning ~373 calories and then I hoped on the bike…

My first milestone
Ohmigosh!!! I said that I would stay out of my fave clothing stores, but I just couldn't resist! I went into to Sears last night and just had to try some stuff on. Well guess what! I am a size 16 now! Can you believe it?! And a sz.16 was really comfortable. I haven't been in a size 16 since 2002! You have no idea what this…

another 2 bite the dust!
I weighed in this morning - - 2 more pounds gone, pushing me over that 50 pound mark!!! 51 pounds, to be exact. Couldn't be happier! 9 more pounds to go to meet my original goal of 60 by Christmas (I started January 4) and I can TOTALLY do it! I'll probably try for another 15 lbs after that, but those will be slow, I'm…

Getting healthy with my family
So, in January I joined the gym. Started off slow, but now going 5-6 days out of seven. I wanted to exercise with my husband and since he isn't an aerobics class kind of guy (although he is trying some of the classes), I started jogging on the treadmill to get my endurance up. Reading all your posts is what made me think I…

Not done yet, BUT!
I have officially lost 60lbs! :) I'm so excited...I've gone from 246lbs to 186. Originally I would have given anything just to be below 200 (well not anything, but ya know) I am really proud of myself...lol just wanted to share! :) I've also gone from a 39.7 BMI to 30! :) 1 more pound and I'll be "Overweight" instead of…

HEALTHY Range
I have been weighing for the last couple of days and my weight has been the same. I decided to try the BMI calculator... have been in the obese and overweight range.... now I am in the HEALTHY range. I am SOOOOOOOOOOO excited since health reasons are a big part of why I am losing weight. Granted - the end of the healthy…

14 pounds down!
It's really amazing to me that I am losing weight! I weighed 193.5 at the beginning of July, and started using MYFITNESSPAL to monitor my calories. It seems like magic that the pounds disappeared, and i always think the scale is lying. No one has really noticed yet, but I know that I am doing a great job....because my…

I'm so Happy!

no BACON!!
Woo hooooo-- I just fried two pounds of bacon for my kids, (a treat for them, believe me, not even close to a "staple" around here) and I made it through without even snitchin' a piece!! I read in someone's thread recently how many calories in one slice and it's sooooooooo not worth it.

Exercise calories up for sale!
I did it!! I broke my old distance cycling record! I put in 3 loops around my house today--the area around it--each one was 21.6 WHICH MEANS I RODE FOR 64.8 MILES! Took me 5 hours and 10 minutes total--I took breaks at the house between each loop. Drink a total of 140 ozs of water plus 50 ozs of Electrolyte stuff. Got…

another good doctor day.
I love it any more when I go and they weigh me. I am not there for my weight, so I don't know why they have to weigh me anymore, but still I get on that scale just the same every time. Last time (3 weeks ago) I went it was officially 15 pounds I had lost, This time I am now at the 20 pounds lost and with the 1 pound less…

Happy Dance!!
I am doing the happy dance!! I have finally, I think, broken the plateau!! Knock wood, cross my fingers, and all that good stuff. I have been floating the same four pounds up and down since the end of June. Weellll. This morning, lo and behold, two pounds lower than the float zone!! Done! Bam! Take that, fat!…

Got it right this time
OK the first time I tried this I lost a lot of weight quickly. I worked my butt off and really focused on my food. The problem with that is that I worked too hard too quickly and I was obsessed with food. I wore myself out with my workouts, so much that I'd have to take lots of days off during the week because I just…
