40lbs in 20 Weeks - No Exercise
Twenty weeks ago I decided I would start to track my calories and attempt to eat at a deficit of 1lbs per week. In the past, I had gone to extremes to lose weight spending hours in the gym every day, and eating very little food. The last time I attempted to lose weight I had dropped 50 lbs in 8 weeks (very unhealthy). I…

Year Long Journey
A year and a few days ago, I had a big birthday bash. After seeing myself in the pictures posted, I told myself, “geez, I need drop some of this weight!” Although I had been working out a lot, my weigh was pretty stagnant at 200lbs. I decided to use MyFitnessPal pretty religiously, along with my workouts, to try and reach…

Queryg what was/were your primary exercise/s for getting in shape
Obviously fat loss is mostly eating habits, but was there a physical activity that significantly eases your calorie goals or improved another fitness parameter or helped in some other way? A routine or regimen you adopted.

From an 18 to a 6, 45ish something lbs down since Quarantine
So, that's me, last week, finally donating some jeans from January of 2020. Those are 18s, and I'm now a 6. It says 71 lbs because (a few years ago) I went from somewhere in the 200s down to 150, and then had acar accident and surgery and went back to the 180s. 180s was a 6/18 for me, and I'm down to the mid 130s now, and…

I have finally found what works for my body!
Hi everyone. I began MFP in 2014, after gaining 50lbs in my first two years at Uni, going from 8st6lbs to 11st. While calorie restriction and excercise did help me to lose weight, because I'm short and have a really weird metabolism, in order to lose weight I was having to eat around 1,100 to get any weight loss at all.…

A1C NSV (although the scale had something to do with it)
My A1C had snuck up past 9 back in early May. I've been watching my calories, keeping my carbs under 40%, and exercising since. My A1C as of this week's blood test is back down to 6.5! Again proof that another of those things that are improved by eating less and moving more are improved by eating less and moving more. Sigh.

What was your final push to get serious?
I think the majority of us have probably struggled with staying committed and have started over and over again throughout the years...so I'm curious. What was the moment that really made you get serious about improving your health? Was there something different that made it stick or was it simply discipline?

I'm still a work in progress. (370 lbs. to 261 lbs.)
I haven't been active on here in a while, had a lot of hard days last year. I didn't meet my goal in 2020 (getting to 250 lbs), but considering just how much of that awful year I spent battling my anxiety and depression on a near daily basis, I feel like I have to mark it as a win that I made movement towards my goals at…

Progress is a bunch of ups and downs!
in early October of last year I went to put on a pair of my winter shorts (I live in California) and they laughed at me so a switch went off in my mind and I decided to loose the "quarantine weigh" (pronounced: "excuse for overeating for six months") I share this post and this graph with you to show you that progress, be…

400 Lbs. to 185 Lbs at 6'1"
The first pic was about 15-16 years ago. I didn't want to step on a scale but am guessing I was at about 400+. By about 9 years ago I had got down to 235 with better diet and exercise thinking that was about as low as I could go but still being sore a lot of the time. 2 years ago I got married to a very supportive,…
