Just a reminder that the scale doesn’t tell the full story!
So first post here! I do comment a good bit, but I’ve not big on posting. I changed my focus from strictly weight loss to eating for athletic goals. I practice jiu jitsu, kickboxing, some mountain biking, and trail running. I love to move. Eating at an average of 1650 calories a day, doing something 6 days a week, and…

Celebrating my 100 day streak on MFP with some reflection on things that have been working for me.
I’ve been on MFP for a very long time, but this is the first time I have had a 100 day streak. At the beginning of the year, I weighed 321 pounds (at 5’7”). When I started logging my weight in June, I had made it down to 313. I started logging food on July 21st, and that has given me a ton of perspective that helped me get…

Feeling good after 4 months!
After calories counting and exercising 5 days a week I've managed to drop 52 lbs! I feel much better (no more daily acid reflux symptoms) and am excited to lose the next 52! If I can do it, anyone can do it! I had zero motivation and ate horribly on a daily basis. Let's all get healthy together!!!

Ok this is weird and uncomfortable for me to do, so I'm doing it anyway. Sorry if it's gross. I can't help it. I was just kind of shocked at the difference so I thought I would share. If I can do this anyone can. June 12th 2020 250 lbs October 23rd 2020, 212 pounds I changed my diet and increased my activity level and…

Lucky number 7
I began my health journey in December 2012 and completed it in October 2013... it’s now my 7th year of maintaining my goal weight! But “luck” has nothing to do with it, maintaining my weight has been the product of hard work and dedication at least 80% of the time because no one is perfect so I do not follow strict…

22 Pounds in 8 Weeks
I made a promise to my wife that I would put some effort into losing weight after we got married in August. I had been having health problems that my weight may have contributed to, and so I began tracking calories. My goal is, and always has been to lose 1lbs a week. Despite this, I’ve managed to lose closer to 2lbs a…

So far I haven't really been moved by the numbers on the scale going down, but it really hit me today. On one hand, it seems like such a little thing,…

Any transformations using light weights?
Hello, I was wondering does anyone have any transformations using light weights only? I'm starting off a journey with light weights. I'm looking for people that do light weights and really high rep ranges such as 10-20 reps. Post results please.

I no longer need to lose over a hundred pounds
Maybe a weird way to think about it, but it's the first time in a while for me that I have needed to lose less than a hundred pounds to get to my "ultimate goal weight". This year has been incredible for my weight loss. I didn't believe that I could do it or that I could keep doing it. I've lost almost 50 pounds before,…

I Lost 80lbs so far this year :) :) :)
In this otherwise sordid year I managed to lose 80lbs. I’m down to 340lbs from an all-time high of 420+lbs (my home scale stopped registering my weight after 420). I also developed diabetes; the night I read 400 on my wife’s glucose measuring device was the night I decided to change my life forever and not look back. A…

Re- starting on myself.. 44yrs old now
I found MFP years back when I was at my heaviest of 460+lbs. I stayed dedicated and managed to lose over 200+ at that time bringing me down to 210lbs by 2011. Then a couple years ago, I fell completely off track and ended up gaining back over 100lbs. This year in April, I began tracking my weight and steps with Fitbit,…

Down 60 lbs, with about 45 more to go
I started on June 15th at 294 lbs. I'm currently at 234. I can say it hasn't been easy, but it hasn't been all that hard to be honest. I love the direction I'm going. I have learned a lot along the way. I love to cook and I love to eat. Cooking healthy is no harder than cooking unhealthy. Eating healthy is just as…

30yo with PCOS, probably in the best shape of my life
I'm sorry if this is gonna sound like bragging but I'm genuinely happy with my progress right now... I was overweight last summer, then had an ugly breakup (cheating ex, online harrassment, all the fun stuff) and I lost something like 10kg in less than 2 months... I got my diet in check towards the end of 2019, then kept…
