Shin splints??
Hey there everybody. I have been noticing the last week or so that I have been getting what I think are shin splints. The pain is very sharp and pretty bad, but it's not in front of my calf so much as on the inside part. It hurts when I flex my feet, squat down onto the floor, go up on my tiptoes, etc. I've been stretching…

Eat before or after??
A few weeks ago Dr. Oz said that you should work out in the morning before eating. His philosophy was that if you work out before eating you're burning stored fat & calories, if you work out after you're burning the fat & calories that you just ate first and then the stored fat & calories. I'm not sure I could work out on…

Burned out on dvds
OK, since I am a single mom of a 3 year old, I started doing dance/cardio dvds at home for my workout. I can't afford the gym, can't go for a jog/fast-paced walk without him and I need some new ideas. I've considered just taking him on walks ( warming up enough now that we can go outside without hats and gloves!) but it is…

30 Day Shred--What kind of Toning are you seeing?
Hi--I'm on maintenance but started the 30 day shred 2 weeks ago for toning, as I'm not really losing any more weight. Time spent strength training doesn't count as exercise time?
If I spend 45 minute doing strength training at the gym, then 20 mins on the elliptical, is there a way to log the 45 mins I spent lifting weights? And don't I burn calories while I'm lifting weights? I certainly feel like I do! It seems weird that only the time I spend during cardio counts towards my daily exercise goal.

Turned up the difficulty on my workouts
